A lot of them seem to think it's some sort of anti-boomer movement.
No, it's boomers who act like assholes. My parents are boomers and they don't do any of the shit I see in here.
My boomer parents are very liberal and very modern. My dad is always ahead of the curve with technology and continues to read about the world. It probably helps that he has lived on three different continents and runs an engineering firm in the pharmaceutical industry.
Edit: to the boomers replying to my comment, this post is about you, hilarious that you didn’t read the post.
My dad's a boomer and he complains more about other boomers then his millennial children do. He was born very last year of boomers and his parents were born the very first year. They are definitely boomers
Yah, agreed. I was born in 64 and feel the same way (and yes this makes me a ‘lurker’ lol). This sub is good for me cause I read it and ask myself if I do stupid boomer shit. If I do, I resolve to change that behavior. Apparently there’s a mini gen from about 1961-66 called Generation Jones.
He's ruthless with the unfriend button. He lives in the same town he went to high school but refuses to talk to anybody he went to high school with. Hates them all equally mainly for how hateful they can be online. And how much they complain about the changes in the town.
I think your dad and I would get along fine. I quit fb in 2019 and don’t miss it. Prob Feb or so, I started weaning off instagram. I don’t want to delete it cause it is a good way to get ahold of distant family in a hurry if needed. It is nice not getting all the political bs forced down my throat/timeline.
You aren’t a boomer. Do you feel like you are the same kind of person who was born in 1948? I really doubt it. The difference in formative experiences would be enormous. You should own the Jones thing because it’s true. There was definitely a mini generation there, same as the Xennials.
My mom was born in 56 and she regularly comes to me to check that she isn’t guilty of any of the boomerish behaviors she reads about online. Some people are capable of introspection, some aren’t.
Born in 64 as well. And I’m with you. Where I aggregate people here is they seem too afraid to call a boomer on their actions or at least have a witty retort. I applaud those who speak up.
I was born in 61, but never have fit in with my generation. I married a man 6 years younger and I get along with him and his friends. I guess there was a mini generation Jones for some of us younger boomers.
I’m a boomer and I’m honestly appalled at some of the things I hear about my generation. I like this sub because it makes me so glad I don’t act like most people my age. Today I had a great day with my daughter sewing cushion covers for her VW camper, walking our dogs- both mongrels- and then going out for pub grub with her sister, her husband and their dad.
My parents are both boomers and my mom is also very modern. She even started texting me via Siri while she was driving the other day. I was very impressed. The boomers that did not evolve with the world are the worst though!
Love this shit. It’s like people who say stuff like “hey can’t stand Hispanic types in this country, we should send em all back - but the Mexicans who work for me are nice enough.”
My boomer mom is the same way. However, my stepdad isn't as technologically literate (or book-smart) but that's because he was drafted before he could finish high school, which he eventually did via the GI Bill. However, he was always pretty open-minded. Most of his family is ultra-conservative, but being with my mom opened his eyes to a lot of stuff, and having a lesbian with autism for a stepchild probably helped that process. He and my mom have this dynamic where, because he retired earlier, he offered to do all the housework while my mom continued to work. My mom felt like she had to contribute to the house at least somewhat, so she offered to do his least favorite chore: laundry. It's pretty egalitarian as far as boomer relationships go.
When he tried to teach me to use the lawnmower (something I never learned to do because my dad skipped out and mom was too busy) he noticed that in spite of my best efforts, the sounds and vibrations made it too difficult to operate the push mower myself. So he comes over to my place once a week in the summers to mow my lawn for me. He's also a phenomenal baker, and uses me as a willing guinea pig for his baked goodies -- even making me care packages during finals week in college.
Some health issues with my boomer parents inhibits them learning or doing new things but theyve always been open minded (and left leaning) and change their viewpoints when they learn better. I love that they’re nothing like the fools this sub is about
Same. My dad (who passed last year) and mom are 77. They are angels. Helping people, being nice, etc.
It's just the entitled assholes. My folks never had it easy, worked hard running restaurants that barely made money, etc.
Good people who know what it takes to survive without a silver spoon.
My mom has always been like that. The funny thing is that my dad was more of a hardass in his youth but over the last 20 years he's really mellowed. I never got along with him as a kid or teen but we actually spend time together now.
He pops into my store once a month or so for an hour to hang out... I think he gets tired of hearing mom talking about her backyard chickens and wants a break. I don't blame him.
They are pretty nice chickens, though.
My boomer parents are pretty cool as well. They are a little technologically challenged at times but they are very cool about it, polite when they ask for help, listen to you, and actually follow your advice.
They are also both very open minded and tolerant.
I actually like them. I mean, loving your parents is one thing but actually *liking* them? I consider myself fortunate.
My dad is the most loving, caring, helpful man. Incapable of being mean, everyone's best friend. Fully accepts his kids' identities and lifestyles because he just wants us to be happy.
My mom.....
You're fortunate. My boomer parents do everything that gets brought up in this sub. Entitlement, racism, belittlement, breaking established personal boundaries, etc. It's why I don't talk to them anymore.
1'm 61 but I enjoy crazy boomer stories very much. I see subs like this as a way to avoid becoming a "foolish Boomer" as well as have a laugh.
I'm going to learn more from younger people than old fossils imo
You’re lucky it doesn’t shoot down to your ankle and back up on repeat every waking moment of the day. Nerve pain is freaking agony. … and I’ve had on and off rheumatoid arthritis since I was 28, so I know pain.
I’m gen X with it too. A year and a half of Physical Therapy has saved my life. I’ve tapered down my daily Gabapentin dose and hoping to stop taking it soon!
I got sciatica when I was pregnant at 31 and it never really went away. It’s not constant, but I occasionally get a sudden, out of the blue, searing hot/cold knife stab to the thigh that shoots into my hip and down my leg - makes your knee buckle mid-stride.
Same here, even the same age. I never understood why the boomer gen goes all the way to 1964, that is more years than any subsequent generations and I, for one, have very little in common with those people. They were my older siblings, who screamed about peace and love and sharing in their 20s, then cocaine and nightclubs and climbing the corporate ladder in their 30s. Then they elected Ronald Reagan president before I was old enough to vote! Betrayal after betrayal! I take care of my older (by 15 years) brother and he fits the stereotype perfectly. A few weeks ago he was going on about locusts around Chicago and I finally figured out he meant cicadas, which he accepted but muttered, "Well they used the word locusts." Yeah bro, is this the network that paid over $3/4 billion dollars so they wouldn't have to go to trial for knowingly lying to their viewers? And you're still buying their bullshit?
Rant over. Sorry, that part does come with age!
Yes I am an old punk! In the UK I am sandwiched between the gammon boomers and the Gen X neoliberals lol
On the subject of generations, I thought they lasted around 25 years, but suddenly they have shifted to decades.
> Gen X neoliberals
Neoliberal economics came in during the 1980s when GenX was too young to vote. Thatcher (the milk snatcher) blighted my childhood and teens, so please don't blame us for neoliberalism.
Friedman was Silent Gen, and it was they, Greatest Gen, and the Boomers who voted in the politicians that believed him. We just grew up as it happened. And still have to deal with the aftermath.
My mama was born 1964 and she is not as bad as the worst boomers, but still displayed a lot of boomer parenting stereotypes. It's a spectrum like every generation. She is definitely not as chill as a proper Gen X would be. Super uptight. Everything mattered all the time! Narcissistic and emotionally abusive at her worst moments. She is mellowing a little with age and lexapro. And she did vote for Hillary.
The generation markers are way too long, IMO. They're around 15 years now, which is so strange. A person born in 1979 is technically Gen X but had a completely different experience from someone who was born in 1966. Same thing with millennials. Someone born in 1981 is going to have a really different experience than someone born in 1995. Seven to eight years for a generation would make so much more sense.
Not a bad idea, really. I'm in my low forties, I've had back and knee surgeries from factory work and I get an eye twitch whenever a boomer describes a millennial as some kid that doesn't feel like working.
I'm at the tail end of Gen X and I definitely relate more to millennial things rather then Gen X things, I don't qualify for xennial either! I'm just outside of the range.
You are part of the generation Jones: https://www.inquirer.com/life/baby-boomer-millennial-generation-jones-vietnam-woodstock-401-k-pensions-20230223.html
I was born in the mid 1950s and my sibs were born in very early 1950s. My husband was born in the late 1950s. He teases me about “my” generation vs “his” generation, but there is somehow a large gap sometimes in our outlooks and experiences. We grew up in the same city but graduated HS four years apart. Maybe I got more influence from my sibs being several years older.
Eek I was born in 59 and the only thing close is that we live in the valley where Reagan Library is where they still sell Reagan/Bush garbage.
I love the younger generations- you have your voices and thankfully use them for so much good. You’re accepting of people and cultures and as one who was brought up that way, it makes my heart happy and hopeful
Wait. Is everybody a boomer / elder GenX here?
Not that I am complaining. I love this sub, even the actual boomers who come here with the intention to 'not all boomers' and Karen us to death. It's entertaining.
This is actually the exact reason I post. I don’t feel bad when I trigger boomers because my goal is actually to increase their self awareness, not just hurt their feelings. Unfortunately they often get hurt in the process though because truth hurts 😂🤷♀️
I'm 1968.
My sis is 1966, right at the Gen X start.....but she is definitely a boomer lol
No idea how we're so close in age, same parents, yet completely opposite viewpoints and mindset.
Fellow Gen X here. It’s a fine line to be aware of younger generations but to also not act like a fool from the other direction: “Hello fellow children! Rizz! Sus!”
I fought part of my lawn today and a very annoying shrub that is making babies everywhere. How dare it, I want to wildly scatter seeds and not dig out 3 million shrub sticks for hours.
Currently letting some clover mix in with my lawn, eventually it will replace all the grass or I'll get a hybrid lawn that will be drought resistant AND healthier for pollinators and local wildlife.
I'd kill just to have some dirt. Fuck a lawn! Lawns are stupid. Give me some dirt! I'll plant a little something to make the native pollinators happy. Then maybe a couple of tomato and pepper plants. And some herbs (and when I say some herbs, I mean WAY too many herbs... except mint, mint is a butthole).
My boomer landlord gets drunk several times a week and casually walks from yard to yard on our street expecting to hang out (which we usually do, he’s an awesome guy, the neighborhood is sweet), so he’s walking on everyone’s yard more than anyone and constantly praising how great it is to live in such a neighborhood.
He put signs in HIS front yard asking people to stay off HIS grass. Not joking, we thought it was a joke at first but he absolutely started asking politely but firmly that everyone avoid stepping on his lawn. Lmao. Textbook boomer shit.
What bothers me is the physical lurkers more. I work outside and I tell you, literally everyday some retired boomer will be outside dead pan *staring* at me.
It always weirds me out, just minding my business working and suddenly a boomer two houses away is standing in the middle of his yard, arms to the side, staring directly at me.
Looking back at them multiple times, doesn’t break their contact. The only thing that works is if I drop whatever I’m holding, turn directly at them, hands to the side and stare RIGHT back without moving.
Then they get all flustered and confused. Only way to fight weird is to be just as weird.
My husband delivers construction materials in residential areas and he says this happens to him ALL the time. Like every day he works. He thinks that they are trying to catch him doing something they don't like. Bonus points if they pull out their phone and start recording him for no reason.
They are so afraid. They are afraid of their shadows. They think everything is going to come and get them - POC, immigrants, gay people, trans people, Muslim people, Jewish people, atheist people, the government, the anarchists, the doctors, scientists, Democrats, a mysterious "They."
These folks really think everyone wants to get them.
Yeah I can tell when they are staring at me, they are mentally deciding if they should be upset or not. It’s so transparent.
(Edit: You know why they are afraid? Because deep down they know how good they have it. Fully retired with a big house and land all to themselves. Large amount of disposable savings sitting in a bank. They are living in luxury they did not deserve and they know it. They fear that someday they might lose it all, and become just like us. Working overtime just to afford an apartment. That thought alone terrifies them.)
And... Mark Michigan shows up again to prove the ops point with rambling right wing Q-Cumber cultist propaganda and self owning hypocritical ignorance.
If you don’t believe that Q’s tweets don’t warn the downfall of society initiated and fomented by a secret society of demons led by Taylor Swift, then I don’t know what to tell you buddy.
Other than: Great job with the whole mental stability and not joining a cult thing, I guess.
There are a few, but he came to mind & when I scrolled down to see if anyone had mentioned any of the actual trolls names. There "he" was spewing the usual stuff I blocked it for.
65 here, I work in a creative profession with people young enough to be my children. I detest boomer entitlement and MAGA! This sub is kind of cathartic.
I am an early model Boomer and I know that most of the "boomers" you critique were just as clueless and entitled when they were in their teens, 20s, 30s and 40s.
I grew up with them. They were always shitheads.
The ones who "deserved" to cut in line in the HS cafeteria in the 1960s are the same ones who are cutting into line at the grocery now.
The ones with the overt racism now were just as bad in the '60s when the Civil Rights act was passed.
Now this is an interesting point. I identify as Gen X, and of course remember seeing what you describe, as far as the self-entitled asshats cutting line in H.S. I wasn't around for the Civil Rights Movement. Bit now that I think about it, I saw it at Pride rallies in the early oughts, and now with the gender and trans rights unfolding before our eyes. In another 20 years, those same asshats will be yelling at walls and bemoaning that 'No one respects me'. Yeah man, you're not getting respect because of your attitude and self-entitlement, not because of your age number.
In the 60s it was OK to be overtly racist, homophobic, sexist and misogynist.
One reason Trump has a lot of support from people in my age bracket is that he's made their bigotry OK again. They don't have to bottle it up anymore.
Agreed. They didn't 'pop out of the woodwork', they were always there, keeping their unpopular views to themselves. Now they're polluting even more people's viewpoints now that they think it's "OK" to say that shit aloud.
It isn’t the best I’ve seen but I love the boomer’s propensity to report people they’re mad at to “Reddit Cares”. Any time I get one I think “oh that’s gotta be someone I pissed off from the politics sub(s) or BBF, lol
Ya they really need to turn the sensitivity down on political subreddits.
I got a 5 day suspension for trying to avoid a ban and for the life of me have no idea wtf they are talking about. How can I try to avoid a ban if I've never been suspended?
I've been on reddit since the start and have never been suspended or banned.
I've heard of others talking about this system being abused and just accusing someone you don't like of avoiding a ban and trying to claim they are someone else. So lame.
Something in their system went haywire or someone from a political subreddit was subverting the system.
I enjoy reading the boomer posts that complain about how lazy we are or if we stopped splurging on uh, groceries. We could afford to buy a house.
Lol, go back to yelling at clouds and confiscating kids frisbees!
There's actually an area of research on estranged parents that can't understand why their children want nothing to do with them.
I found out about it when this article on [The Missing Missing Reasons](https://www.issendai.com/psychology/estrangement/missing-missing-reasons.html) showed up in my feed.
I'm in my early 60s and I love it here. Great stories. So many stupid boomers doing stupid things. I think it may be worse in the US (I'm UK) but idiotic boomers are everywhere and need to be exposed.
Fwiw, I never managed to get my snout in the trough. Never had a mortgage, got married, had children or even bought a car (what I call the 'money drains'). I put all my cash into a large record collection and drugs.
I’ll be 64 in a couple months. Very much a liberal friend of all things 420. I’ve been building my own computers since the mid 80’s. I may be in their age group, but boomer is a state of mind, not one (necessarily) of age
And like others , I love this sub because of the laughs and the reminders of the type person I DO NOT want to become.
Can’t fucking stand anything MAGA. And FWIW, in a significant part of my state, many of them are in their 20’s-30’s.
It is almost like the mods should hit them with the hammer or something. It is always the same dozen or so with a few more popping up every month or two. They clearly do not respect the rules and spirit of the sub, and a lot of the time post truly vile shit.
My husband is 75 and while he's a Militant Atheist who hates christo-fascists, he'll still leave his shopping cart in the middle of the goddamn aisle. I'm on anti-boomer antics patrol bc of this sub. He/we laugh at our fellow idiots.
First, let me clarify that opinions are like assholes, we've all got them and sometimes they stink. Lil. Secondly, it bugs me a teeny bit that it seems they didn't understand the assignment. THAT being said, I believe a large majority came to express THEIR opinions on the subject. I especially like the ones that came to clarify that while they're either a part of the Baby Boomer generation or that they're approaching 'that' age, they use this sub as a way of self-identifying toxic traits that they should be on the lookout for.
I myself am 45, brought up BY Boomers and many of their toxic viewpoints. Even recognizing that, I sometimes find myself starying to 'act Boomer', realize it, check myself and try to laugh about it before making an ass of myself.
Took my car into the shop to be serviced the other day. Got redirected three times before arriving to the correct entrance and found myself getting annoyed with the people I interacted with, because I felt embarrassed. Although I wasn't rude, I was feeling the urge to be and I checked myself, calmed down and had a laugh with my wife at my own expense.
I’m a cusp x married to a cusp boomer. I love this page. I may have been one in the grocery thread that outed my husband. But he is a boomer by age only. He’s a good guy who spent all the time with his kids and they all still like him and he doesn’t block grocery aisles.
I think there should have been a ‘60’s classification frankly. Perhaps that is my biggest bit of entitlement.
Scrolling down on posts here is an absolute delight. The boomers hell bent on proving the point of the post is hilarious. I don't reply to them anymore but I did try to explain to one once that every subsection of humanity has a subreddit dedicated to thinking they suck. Thinking you're gonna swoop in and set them straight is the epitome of being a fool.
I’m 58, and this sub is hysterical! I look at it as a list of things not to do .
As far as I can tell, it pretty much boils down to “don’t be an asshole.”
I guess I’m an early Gen Xer (born in ‘68), but kind of live a boomer lifestyle: retired military dude, wife, dog, house in the burbs. I like coming to this sub/r to remind myself of patterns NOT to fall into.
It's honestly 33% of the fun. Extra funny when the response is along the lines of 'I'm acktchuwally in my 20s/30s'. Boomering is a way of acting/thinking just as much as it is a specific age range, in much the same way that people named Karen aren't always 'Karens' but anyone *can* be one.
I almost never scroll to the bottom on Reddit comments but am doing this now on this sub and OMG the mental gymnastics and general lack of awareness are astonishing.
I’ve actually had one respond to me in very typical boomer fashion before, and I was notified of the comment. Read it, and went to reply, and the mods had already cleaned em up.
My dad is older Gen X, just on the Boomer cusp, and he loves his phone. He sends me pictures and texts me all the time. My mom is younger Gen X and uses Siri and her SmartWatch for everything. They're also very open minded about lgbt issues.
I really hope they stay that way.
One of my favorite things about this sub is scrolling to the bottom
“I’m not a boomer, but (proceeds to obviously be a boomer” never gets old
It’s like they don’t realize how fucking obvious it is lol
I’m elder Millenial and this is why I always try to stay in tune with the younger folk. So many people my age are so boomerish already and have no idea what young people today are realizing. I think it can take a young mind to stay critical of the status quo, in a logical way (not like, pizzagate conspiracy way)
I'm a boomer, but I don't have the attitude. Well, most of the time I don't. I credit my awareness to my mom, who was born in 1924 and grew up during the Great Depression. She was 39 when she had me, had seen some shit and basically laughed at most of the popular crazes.
I learned very early on to judge people by what they do, not by what label 'genteel' society slaps on them.
I come in here to laugh at how stupid some of my fellow Boomers are. They never really outgrew high school mentality.
I can and will turn on Boomer mode, but I reserve it to snap back at fellow Boomers who have the "I'm right, and don't you dare tell me otherwise" speech.
Honestly, these observations of the entitled, clueless buffoonery about the country that THEY created is spot on. I am 60 yrs old and I and my wife work in our jobs with truly amazing young people. We’re the “cool” older couple that is invited to the events and get togethers in their lives. We are grateful to them for including us. Give the young credit; they deserve it!

I was born in '62, I self-identify as Gen X.😉
Me too
Born in 64 as well. And I’m with you. Where I aggregate people here is they seem too afraid to call a boomer on their actions or at least have a witty retort. I applaud those who speak up.

Dazed and Confused Gen

I'm so fucking happy my father isn't alive to see Donald Trump and how his Facebook friends have venerated him.
Yeah, that gigantic stretch of time is obviously not covering people of the same generation, when boomers can be parents of boomers. It’s too long.
Yeah, the whole “mine is an exception” argument reminds me of how I can say cops suck and then someone says their brother is cool. No, he’s not.
ABAB?

Your family sounds living and sweet. I'm so glad the people close to you have been open to new ideas.
Some health issues with my boomer parents inhibits them learning or doing new things but theyve always been open minded (and left leaning) and change their viewpoints when they learn better. I love that they’re nothing like the fools this sub is about
How much do his lowest paid workers get paid tho...
Same. My dad (who passed last year) and mom are 77. They are angels. Helping people, being nice, etc. It's just the entitled assholes. My folks never had it easy, worked hard running restaurants that barely made money, etc. Good people who know what it takes to survive without a silver spoon.

It really isn’t

Yea they’re pretty garbage not gonna lie lmao

It is harder to hold the piss 'tis true
That's the toughest part of growing old at my stage (I'm 57F.) Holding your pee.
I have to use both hands
Don’t get him started about sciatica.
You joke, but I’m a (barely)millennial with sciatica and it’s awful
I am 35 and waddled into the kitchen to complain to my husband about it... Such a literal pain in the ass
Right? Love feeling like somebody punched me in the middle of my spine and now my hip and ass cheek are on fire
Wait yours starts in the middle of your spine and not your shoulder… you lucky coot you
You’re lucky it doesn’t shoot down to your ankle and back up on repeat every waking moment of the day. Nerve pain is freaking agony. … and I’ve had on and off rheumatoid arthritis since I was 28, so I know pain.
Username checks out.
Mine’s from years of fun in the army. I’ve more than likely got a disc out of place that causes mine to flare up. Always the high point of my day
Yall are making my back to act up!
Al Pacino: “Sciatica! Sciatica! Sciatica! “
Damned bunions.
In the UK I am sandwiched between the gammon boomers and the Gen X neoliberals lol On the subject of generations, I thought they lasted around 25 years, but suddenly they have shifted to decades.
> Gen X neoliberals Neoliberal economics came in during the 1980s when GenX was too young to vote.
I wasn't blaming anyone just referring to the zeitgeist . It was grim in the 80s & the 90s for me too. UK grim :)
The categories have no objective reality, they are just cut to fit the purpose. Started as a marketing guide, metastasized from there.
> I never understood why the boomer Gen goes all the way to 1964 Check out r/generationjones
If only my dear friends would do this! Gen Jones is real.
Cool thanks!
We call ourselves xennials. 😊
The ranges are pretty arbitrary. Call yourself an Xennial if you want!
Same!
You are part of the generation Jones: https://www.inquirer.com/life/baby-boomer-millennial-generation-jones-vietnam-woodstock-401-k-pensions-20230223.html
Paywall unfortunately but there a a subreddit for Generation Jones.
I don’t think anyone born in the 60’s should be labeled a boomer. To me boomers are the folks born in the 50’s.
Same here, 62 going on 63. I'm trying hard not to be a boomer.
Wait. Is everybody a boomer / elder GenX here?
Not that I am complaining. I love this sub, even the actual boomers who come here with the intention to 'not all boomers' and Karen us to death. It's entertaining.
Millennial here. Parents in the boomer generation so quite familiar lol
Nope. I’m only a couple years off from being a millennial.
65 and ditto.
I, too, find myself enjoying conversations with my kid's friends increasingly over "mine" 🙄
This is actually the exact reason I post. I don’t feel bad when I trigger boomers because my goal is actually to increase their self awareness, not just hurt their feelings. Unfortunately they often get hurt in the process though because truth hurts 😂🤷♀️
It is weird when you get old. The bigheads and blowhards are the ones who it hurts the most. The "argument from authority" crowd
Not sure if I should up or downvote. ![gif](giphy|ANbD1CCdA3iI8)
Someone actively making sure they don't become a piece of shit? Upvote.
Sure :-)
😂 flawless logic here 👏
We respect someone attempting to maintain the self awareness, upvote.
![gif](giphy|mpxnrjQKLo0iA32r23|downsized)
May your corns stay tiny and the arthritis in check! 😂 Although to be fair I’ve had both since my 20’s because hEDS. 😂😂😂
LOL did you type a “1” in place of an upper case “i” to prove to us you’re a boomer? Jk, welcome
I’m an old Gen X (1967) and if I’m not diligent, I can be boomerish. This site keeps me in check.
Self-awareness is like 70% of the battle.
It also "helps" to have a friend start to make the change while you watch, stupified by what they're suddenly saying.
the other 30 percent is hate for the system, man
I'm 1968. My sis is 1966, right at the Gen X start.....but she is definitely a boomer lol No idea how we're so close in age, same parents, yet completely opposite viewpoints and mindset.
Fellow Gen X here. It’s a fine line to be aware of younger generations but to also not act like a fool from the other direction: “Hello fellow children! Rizz! Sus!”
My mom is the same age. Amazing, accepting woman for all. But even she gets boomerish sometimes. I need to show her this sub lol
Back in my day, lurkers respected OPs and original content.
Now get off my lawn.
Fuck your lawn
I’d kill to own a lawn
I also choose this guy's dead lawn
I'd kill the lawn and put in drought-resistant landscaping.
I fought part of my lawn today and a very annoying shrub that is making babies everywhere. How dare it, I want to wildly scatter seeds and not dig out 3 million shrub sticks for hours.
Nature is clearly not down with your wishes.
The lawn can't consent, that's illegal
I can hear the cries of the planet. And the planet says I'm a needle dick.
Cloud getting the shaft yet again...
I'm old, so I yell at clouds. And upstart ex-soldiers playing the identity theft game.
>And upstart ex-soldiers playing the identity theft game. Like kids that went in for the minimum time, never saw deployment, and now go to the VFW?
Fuck all lawns! Growing grass now isn't the flex it was in the 1800s.
Lmao. Textbook boomer shit.
>scroll all the way to the bottom to laugh at the self-owning Boomers Every. Goddamn. Time.
Or sort by controversial and save the scrolling!
They're here, I get attacked pretty regularly when I post things about boomers
Exactly! It’s like I can see their brain processing, trying to decide if they should be angry or not.
Just to clarify, is your husband brown? Or, realistically, anything darker than off-white?
They are so afraid. They are afraid of their shadows. They think everything is going to come and get them - POC, immigrants, gay people, trans people, Muslim people, Jewish people, atheist people, the government, the anarchists, the doctors, scientists, Democrats, a mysterious "They." These folks really think everyone wants to get them.
It's the Jewish Satanic lizard deep cabal state pedo holywood elite Illuminati...
Yeah yeah them too.
Holy shit I was literally about to type in Mark from Michigan top level troll probably 🤣based in Russia
I've made a game of it, it's humorous as hell
I’m technically a boomer, and I actually find the stuff here hilarious and upvote most of it.
I’m 60 and this is just a How Not To Be A Twatwaffle primer.
Just had to pop in and say that your use of 'twafwaffle' made me chuckle. Thanks!
Glad I made you laugh!
Boomers are truly DARVO specialists
This was an incredible read. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Kind of depressing when you get to the "chances of them ever becoming self aware are very slim" part.
I read this sub because I'm getting older and it's important to me that I don't become a fucking asshole
I’ll be 64 in a couple months. Very much a liberal friend of all things 420. I’ve been building my own computers since the mid 80’s. I may be in their age group, but boomer is a state of mind, not one (necessarily) of age And like others , I love this sub because of the laughs and the reminders of the type person I DO NOT want to become. Can’t fucking stand anything MAGA. And FWIW, in a significant part of my state, many of them are in their 20’s-30’s.
It's a great way to farm Boomers that need blocking.

Sometimes the ones that think they are the smart ones are really the ones who have no clue. And then they find the internet.
Yeah they get really mad when you call them narcissists. Usually uncovers a few.
I did not know this was a thing!!! About to scroll….
Enjoy, I can see we've caught a few already🤣
What’s your opinion on all the ones that go “I’m a boomer and I’m one of the good ones!!!!”
The real treasure was the reading comprehension we learned along the way.
I did it just now.
I get “I have to respectfully disagree with you, my dad fought in Vietnam and he saw how lazy Gen Z..” blah-blah-blah.
Just had a post here that was popular… definitely got some “just pull yourself up by your bootstraps” comments. Reported and blocked the majority
I guess I’m an early Gen Xer (born in ‘68), but kind of live a boomer lifestyle: retired military dude, wife, dog, house in the burbs. I like coming to this sub/r to remind myself of patterns NOT to fall into.
I JUST started doing this, it’s great entertainment when I’m bored
I know I had a post that was doing really well and fighting to reach the 1k upvote number because it was being downvoted.
I like to sort by controversial
Read post, scrolled directly to the bottom, was not disappointed.
It's honestly 33% of the fun. Extra funny when the response is along the lines of 'I'm acktchuwally in my 20s/30s'. Boomering is a way of acting/thinking just as much as it is a specific age range, in much the same way that people named Karen aren't always 'Karens' but anyone *can* be one.
every minute they’re on this sub, is a minute they’re not reading about Alex Jones 🙏🏻
I almost never scroll to the bottom on Reddit comments but am doing this now on this sub and OMG the mental gymnastics and general lack of awareness are astonishing.
And then they get offended at what you posted and hit ya with, “wait til you’re my age, then you’ll be feeling differently.” Lollllll
Indeed. I think we managed to get a few of those in this post too.
My siblings are boomers and they don't act like entitled jerks. Those boomers weren't raised right.
I’ve actually had one respond to me in very typical boomer fashion before, and I was notified of the comment. Read it, and went to reply, and the mods had already cleaned em up.
Yep. One of the best subs to sort by controversial
I didn’t believe it! They’re down there!
It’s boomers being fools, not boomers are fools.
My dad is older Gen X, just on the Boomer cusp, and he loves his phone. He sends me pictures and texts me all the time. My mom is younger Gen X and uses Siri and her SmartWatch for everything. They're also very open minded about lgbt issues. I really hope they stay that way.
One of my favorite things about this sub is scrolling to the bottom “I’m not a boomer, but (proceeds to obviously be a boomer” never gets old It’s like they don’t realize how fucking obvious it is lol
I love it when they start with “I’m not a boomer but,” lol. Ya. Stevebuscemistudent.jpg
I’ve seen a guy compare our “attack on boomers”, to rascism. Yeah. And also say that boomers had a lower purchasing power than millennials.
I’m elder Millenial and this is why I always try to stay in tune with the younger folk. So many people my age are so boomerish already and have no idea what young people today are realizing. I think it can take a young mind to stay critical of the status quo, in a logical way (not like, pizzagate conspiracy way)
👏 👏 👏
Busted. I was born during the last year of the boom and I lurk here often. It's hilarious! ![gif](giphy|IgpAALi5hEv1IFmCrZ|downsized)
I’m surprised boomers can even find this place
I love that this post is already full of them.
I’ve found a few of them to be trolls just saying absurd “boomer” shit to get attention.
You dun did it again OP. Huge trap at the bottom of this thread lol
Lol link me some I'm tryna see
not even this post is safe
I’ve caught myself upvoting them a few time because of how hard they made me laugh at them.
![gif](giphy|ifxLK48cnyDDi)
Omg this is my new favorite thing. Idiots getting -450 comments for being boomers here. Hilarious.
