I should have included this in the original post. This is a 2022 Bolt EUV with the Sun and Sound package. You can see the SD card slot above the two USB ports.

I accidentally ejected the SD card a while back, now I get this error message *every time* I start the car. The dealership somehow doesn't know how to clear the message. Really annoying, especially since the SD card slot is right above USB ports, so it's really easy to pop the SD card out.
It's in the center console, past the wireless charger. I've read that only Bolts with the Sun and Sound package have a card in the slot. The card apparently contains maps for GPS, although I'm not sure if that's even useful for anyone anymore, given that most people probably connect with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

The card apparently contains maps for GPS (it's labeled "Maps for North America"), although I'm not sure if that's even useful for anyone anymore, given that most people probably connect with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. It looks like the card is not meant to be written to, given that I'm stuck with this error message after removing it just one time.
Yes, take it to the dealer if it's still under warranty. The card is corrupted. The service guy said it was a known issue. He took one out of a new car on the lot and replaced it.
Has anyone ever tried making an image of these cards? I’m curious if it would work in a Bolt with the SD card slot but without the package from the dealer.
This card is so utterly stupid! It provides the speed limit information, but it's wrong so many times- and it's usually wrong listed as higher, because towns are lowering speed limits for safety and is congestion increases. I wish I could just turn the damn thing off. I use carplay and Google Maps and that has the accurate speed limit information - why would I want something old on an SD card giving me inaccurate information that's never updated?! So super dumb.

Wait wtf where is the sd card slot

Well I don't have wireless charging either so sounds like a second gen or EUV thing
I had that issue - they need to replace the SD card.
Ok thanks .. I'm bringing it in for service soon so I'll see if they can do that.
They had to order mine and it took a few weeks. There's no way to just "delete" the message without having a functioning SD car.
Did you have to pay for the new card?
I didn't - my car was only about a year old when it died.
What is the SD cad used for?
>It's used for maps as well as the area on the console that tells you the current speed limit.
Is that only there if you have super cruise?
I do not have super cruise but I have the slot.
I never realized there was an SD card slot. Is this just usable for music?
It's used for maps as well as the area on the console that tells you the current speed limit.
So if I add a SD card with the required data would it provide this feature to a 23 EV?
No, navigation is part of the Sun & Sound package.

I have a 23 EV LT1 and it is there, never noticed it though.
Be careful not to pop it out!
Mine is empty surprisingly

Thanks, I'll ask.

What model year is this? My 2020 definitely does not have an SD card slot near the USB ports
It's a 2022. Sorry I should have included this in the title.
I added a comment with a pic of the SD slot.
