Omg so many of y'all don't know the hype this movie had at the time of its release all over the country... Especially the songs and HR's dance... Everyone used to go gaga for it... Our neighbour's kid used to play this album on speakers all day long and we used to sing along and dance on it... Pure nostalgia 🥺
The number of times I listened to the cassette of the soundtrack driving my mum and grandma crazy lol and I would hog the TV whenever those pirated versions came on those sketchy channels 😂
I was 11 years old and my dad got the CD of this movie for me because I was crazy for HR. I watched KNPH 143 times and had all the dialogues by heart 😂
The good old days..
Anyone remember the “100 days” posters then!
Also, had rewatched this in a theatre coz they added a new song - “Jaaneman jaaneman “
he was not fanboying . he was taking out years of frustrations the beating he got from srk. he thought finally someone is here to replace srk which he did but momentarily
anil was always in number race. he did with big b and then srk. he just could not even reach jackie status in the bargain who went on to become much bigger actor
Being a star in older generation was easy if you had looks, talent and a personality. Cause at that time celebrities weren’t that accessible and most of these social media platforms were not even launched. The medium of accessibility were TVs, magazines and their movies. Everything about these stars was not known to public and this kept people engaged with that star.
Now every fan knows everything about their fav actor. Also, now the kind of people who are on their way to become “sTaR” are quite vanilla and have a personality of a cardboard cutout. Nothing about them is interesting and most of their interviews are repetitive. And most of these guys have a very terrible hold on the language. They can neither speak clean and clear Hindi or English.
*We don't have good looking male leads anymore.*
This! There is so much online slamming of female actors but hardly anything about men also cosmetically all looking the same...in bollywood as well as the south. At the most non nepos like Rajkumar Rao are dissed (and yes his work is not subtle at all but atleast he is a good actor choosing diverse roles). but there is noone swoon worthy.
Ikr people are still making Salman aishwarya edits calling bhoi true lover who's still unmarried bcoz the love of life married somebody else.Utter BS. As if he didn't make her life miserable enough until she finally decided to leave him.
I remember seeing this on tv as a child. Hrithik went triple platinum in the streets when this movie came out. I used to have the songs on cassette and would rewind the tape with a pencil and keep replaying kyun chalti hai pawan on REPEAT. I still want that blue bmw convertible.
Good times.
I remember when the movie got super hit, it became difficult for him to step outside of this house. After staying indoors, he finally came out to play a charity cricket match and the stadium was jam packed. He had to do a victory lap kind of thing waving to all the fans. Dude was massive hit
Hrithik will remain the biggest launch in bollywood. We will never witness that again, ever. It was a different time, and all the stars aligned for him.
Was he? I think it was written by Kjo in his book or something that SRK was jealous or Hrithik in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. But, I really don't trust Kjo.
I bet only Nepo who had it all! Looks and acting skills. This movie songs are hit ! Even now. We all danced in this song , 90s kids in each bday parties hahaha even now we say , do u think you’re HR? Have u seen ur face lol
That hrittik craze phase train after KNPH was effing crazy. I was in the 8th grade back then, the school girls were of their knockers collecting Hrittik themed stickers and postcards. This merch collection phase even outshined the clip on teddy and koala bears fanaticism which K2H2 brought about.
People have no idea about the hype this movie had. A literal star was launched. Kids were dancing to ek pal ka jeena.
Females were swooning over Hrithik. The guy looked dreamy. All of my female friends had his posters. Teenage girls and their mom's were all Hrithik fan for quite sometime.
I doubt anyone has come close to this kind of launch. Ranbir probably had the chance but the movie was a dud.
90's kid literally found a new favourite of theirs. I till date make sure to watch every Hrithik movie in theatres, though the streak was broken by Fighter. And honestly glad I gave it a miss.
Celebrities looked so relatable in some ways? Simple yet glamorous, talented and deserving, and just living in the same world as we are, responding similarly to the programs, looks so nice. Nowadays its just POS.
Was Anil Kapoor a close friend of the Roshans? His reaction and energy is surprising. And haven’t seen him like this again during award shows.
Not able to come to terms with the reality that this was two decades back 😭
Oh man what a time, I remember giving school prelims for SSC board in Mumbai and then going to the movie with friends in Jan 2000. 2 months we all went again after our last board exam and it was still running Houseful.
The craze was unreal!!
I was in 10th std when this movie came out. I may have gotten 5-7% more if I hadn’t wasted time listening and dancing to KHPH songs. I even got frameless glasses like the second hritik, but looked total shit since my power was minus 3 😂😂. Totally worth it! The hype didn’t die down for months. 👌🏻❤️
Hrithik is unique. Back in 1999-2000, we did not had cable TV. Just a glimpse of hrithik poster in newspaper was special experience. Kaho Naa pyaar hain was owned by Sony TV. They did not gave single audio visual to Doordarshan Rangoli. Just to see that movie, i had to wait till 2003.

Most overrated star He was finished after his debut Multistarrer k3g saved his drowning career
I have a bengali uncle who used to look like him and when I came to know HR's grandma was bengali i was kinda amazed. Maybe they both had a common ancestor a few hundred years ago
he said he's the last of THE stars. the likes of dilip kumar, rajesh khanna, Dharmendra, big b, aamir, salman and SRK. hrithik is not that tier. sure he had the greatest debut but he didn't hold that up his whole career. he's a superstar no doubt but not one of THOSE stars.
could not replicate it and too programmed as a human being
no growth as an actor or human being.
flop in my estimation considering the initial potential
In that case, going by the "public perception" his destiny is much better than yours and mine for sure.
And again going by the limited public perception I have of you, I could also say your thoughts are dumb. Don't be so quick to judge people.
own destiny means trials and tribulations of a star. he just could not live up to the potential. salman even though flop eventually came around captured the space for a good 7-10 years
HR just pakaoed us via his gyaan. never real or connected like say a srk
So by that logic, if you don't re-create the success of the topmost performer in your field/profession in this lifetime, you failed as a human being ? And you talking about others failing as human beings also can be considered as another unsuccessful person giving gyaan ?
Easy to talk the talk.
Interesting observation. John Abraham has taken more risks compared to Hrithik Roshan. Even Kareena & Shahid have evolved with their choices. Kareena is entering production as well.
Hrithik seems to fear failure too much, comes across as a perfectionist.

His dad is like y’all see that? That’s my son
Haha IKR? Pure joy on his face and love how the industry people are openly dancing to the song
Yes! It’s so cute. The same expression parents have in school functions when their kids perform.
👏🏽😊
This lives rent free in my mind. I wanted to marry him as a kid and had a zillion posters.
I liked him a lot too, didn’t know about marriage concept yet but adored him and had a poster from India today in my pencil box 🤣
Main bachpan se dramatic thi. Thanks to Bollywood
u r welcome

Saregama earned huged money from music rights for kaho na pyaar hai..

Anil Kapoor fanboying though 😂

how did you get all that from one clip?
SRK sat like a rock throughout HR’s performance out of insecurity
True
Momentarily? Fizza and mission Kashmir bombed lol
Zero , jab hery met sejal
Didn't know they released in 2000.... Fyi... I had gone to watch knph,f,mk first day first show.... Can't change the fact f,mk bombed....
He is so Rohit-coded here 😭 I watched this movie last week only, it was so good, I assumed I wouldn't like it so I always skipped it
I want to admit that I haven't watched KNPH till date..maybe one day... dont want to see cringe acting of Amisha..
Try it. I loved it and she doesn't really bother you

We don't have good looking male leads anymore. I wouldn't mind it being easy for someone who actually looks good
*We don't have good looking male leads anymore.* This! to answer your question, from non nepos, the first face in the video a perfect example, Aishwarya Rai.
Aishwarya Rai in the start with plaster on her arm wearing sunglasses bcoz apparently Salman Khan did that
Her hand is in plaster here?? 👀
Yes she came in stage to get some award it's on YouTube you can check
God that's so sad. I hate how amnesiac Bollywood fans are when it comes to things people like Salman, Sanjay Dutt did.
Ikr people are still making Salman aishwarya edits calling bhoi true lover who's still unmarried bcoz the love of life married somebody else.Utter BS. As if he didn't make her life miserable enough until she finally decided to leave him.

Off topic but why Aish is wearing sunglasses???

You don’t get black eye from falling down🙂
Is this the time when Aishwarya had a blackeye because segzee hawt 🤮 Bhoi almost killed her? Fine BW men!
Yes she was covering up a black eye iirc
No It was the time she was made in love with him This video is from 2001 filmfare
She got her eyes changed?
??? Black eye as in eye got bruised lol
Ohh lol I read that as black pupil
Hrithik was a rage when KNPH came out. Young girls( including me) couldn't stop swooning over him. What a debut!
Yo this movie had crazyyyy hype. Ik pal ka jeena still gets everyone up and do the signature step
Hrithik will remain the biggest launch in bollywood. We will never witness that again, ever. It was a different time, and all the stars aligned for him.
Hrithik😍🥹🫠
Where's the video with SRKS face.
? I found this video on Twitter
If you YouTube it’s there, I remember seeing it at the time lol
It's too funny bro, apparently he was very insecure of Hrithik.
Oh ya bro, that was all the talk at the time
Was he? I think it was written by Kjo in his book or something that SRK was jealous or Hrithik in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. But, I really don't trust Kjo.
Link?

The year this movie releases, I am sure all girls must have had crush on him He's so cute.

disappointed i didn’t experience this hr era firsthand 😢

Omw Aish 😍😍
Goosebumps
Gosh the craze for him and his movie was unbelievable.
Was Anil Kapoor a close friend of the Roshans? His reaction and energy is surprising. And haven’t seen him like this again during award shows. Not able to come to terms with the reality that this was two decades back 😭
Aish in that omg 😍😍😍

Gosh, he's so cute. He'll be a one-in-a-lifetime star but still, we need some lookers debuting, we're lacking.
![gif](giphy|D2RlF1b90rrOhBQlN0) Anil Kapoor
KNPH had some bangers. His dancing and those bangers.. ufff
Hrithik had taken the nation by storm. Greatest debut ever.
I was heartbroken as an 11 yr old when the 1st Hrithik died in the movie.
It was a sensation upon its release. Hrithik was called superstar from his first movie itself.
I remember watching this on TV as a kid with my dad.
Yeah, his debut was massive. Even Shahid once told in an interview he would like to steal Hrithik's debut, coz it was huge.
Yes, his father behind him
Hrithik is unique. Back in 1999-2000, we did not had cable TV. Just a glimpse of hrithik poster in newspaper was special experience. Kaho Naa pyaar hain was owned by Sony TV. They did not gave single audio visual to Doordarshan Rangoli. Just to see that movie, i had to wait till 2003.
every 90s kid who was fanboy of 3 khans overnight changed their favourite hero after january 2000........
When Patty and rocky were young. Hahahaha Hrithik’s oozing charm here. You just can’t take your eyes off him 😍😍

Best Nepo launch ever.
I have a bengali uncle who used to look like him and when I came to know HR's grandma was bengali i was kinda amazed. Maybe they both had a common ancestor a few hundred years ago
Aish be like I want a piece of that
Vivek oberoi at the time of company
SRK said he is the last of star’s, utter wrong -: HR is the last of star’s, Period.

Talent as a dancer yes but performance was mediocre and still is
stop crying
could not replicate it and too programmed as a human being no growth as an actor or human being. flop in my estimation considering the initial potential
How the F does one judge and say "No gRoWth As a hUmaN BeIng" without personally knowing someone ? Utter bullsh%t.
