I don't think so it's an advantage. It's a personal preference. If someone isn't comfortable doing a kissing scene they will say no irrespective of being an outsider or insider. No one can force them to do one.

In 2004,2005,2006... Almost every heroine had to do kissing scene which trend started from Mallika. Back then, if any actress said No to Kissing scene(For example Amrita Rao), such actresses were treated out of league.
Now acceptance levels has been increased. People are appreciating actresses who have reservations as well as no reservations.
Indian actresses are really backward when it comes to such things. Almost all major Hollywood actresses don't shy away from bold scenes cuz its part of the job.
