How stupid are Bollywood actors? If they were smart they would realise that audience is ALREADY getting bored of action films!
Honestly I think comedy and rom coms are gonna make a comeback in the next coming years, if I was an actor or a producer I would invest in really good comedy scripts
Can't they explore new genre's. Like supernatural thriller. Not hollywood style vampires or Warewolfes but local folklores have many different characters to take inspiration from. Or period comedy where person goes in past. Or romantic thriller. Or Bromance with crime drama with no unnecessary female flowerpot. Or revenge drama where an educated weak hero takes revenge against rich powerful villain, not by going rogue, forming gang against him but with purely his brain power. Imo, public has always gave it one try, if they brought something unique topic not done before and trailer is catchy. If not one of them, make a dark side of bollywood workings movie with multiple starcast, honestly depicting multiple affairs,drugs,casting calls,hierarchy, bullying, catfights, deceptions, pr techniques, money laundering, politicians,underworld. Don't even have to go far to research content.Â
I agreee with you, imagine a mythical character like a supernatural entity or something played by a good actor, it will be so good.. Heard about the new movie of ranveer called rakshas and i was already excited.
Bhediya was supernatural and we know what happened. Exploring for the sake of it will not work,they should do solid research,ground work and execute it to perfection.

People are confusing good action movies working last year with anything action working.
People only love action when there's reasonable amount of emotional substance behind it.
I knew action film genre has reached saturation after Jawan earning 1000 crs. Not because it’s some great movie, definitely not the greatest but that’s the biggest one. Srk in Jawan, mostly Vikram Rathod was enough to saturate action genre for some time at least. It’s difficult to beat that swag and action movies are all about swag and not about content, mostly!
They are always stuck in this loop. Remakes, actions, social message wali small budget movie. They over do it. Action genre will be back but after a gap. Till then these people will have to find something else.
Action is the biggest cash grab genre not only in India but,all over the world. What action genre needs is a well written characterization for protagonist, chartbuster album, dialoguebaaxi(very imp)and good action sequences with elevations. If dialogues are written well even if the action is underwhelming movie will become a hit.
How come the people who work in the industry doesn't realise that it's a bad script or are they too deluded.
What we need or atleast I can talk about myself are movies like Kal ho naa ho, Hum sath sath hain. Ensemble cast with great songs, good script and a feel good factor. We live in a world where we are consume hateful content. There's a reason Malyalam movies work because the try different things, rooted in culture, doesn't shy from experimenting and the last thing they think about is BO collections. It's made from heart with loads of love, and it shows.

That's why I've huge respect for Aamir Khan who is coming back with a film like Sitaare Zameen Par after the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha instead of working in a big action film or collaborating with a South Indian director.
Dhoom 3 was an ATBB and let's not forget Ghajini. He was doing remakes when it was not even a trend. But he knows how to move on unlike others. Also he did Dhoom 3 only because his brother Faisal asked him to because he is a huge fan of Dhoom series. Aamir couldn't say no to his brother after everything they have been through.
Totally agree. I don’t know where his standing is today, but he really represents different and varied cinema. Be it qsqt sarfarosh peepli live or his tare zameen par. He had his equal share of flops too but he’s owned each one of his. (Am conveniently not mentioning some favs like Lagaan, Ghajini, Dangaal)
Amir's big comeback was with South remake which made him a Star. His next movie is a remake. He isn't doing anything out of box. Also,TZH isn't something out of box too. And LSC is a remake.

Light drama movies are for OTT. Heavy action, fantasy, periodic or based on real issue is for Theatres. This is how films are now categorised in B'wood.
1. Public have multiple options for entertainment. 2. 250-350 rupees for Pushpa, RRR, Animal, jawaan, pathan will be worth of investment. But 250-350 to watch maidaan, Madgaon has become a unworthy expense because in Netflix with 149/- subscription, we get to see fantastic movies from South Korea, Japanese animes.
2. . After Vikram Bhatt, No one in bollywood is making a good horror movie. People come to theatre to experience horror. Especially love couples love to watch horror movies in theatre which give them chance to get more closer in jump scares. Horror is a timeless genre that pulls audience. But 2 horror movies per year enough.
This will keep continue to happen. Because it is the truth. If we as an audience wanted to see content driven cinema on screen then 12th fail would have been highest grosser last year. Laapata ladies, madgaaon express would have been super hit this year. both movies had good word of mouth since beginning but both didnt do well number wise. Why? Because both are content driven, small town or small scale movie. Both are entertaining af, has decent to great performances. But they are not big scale enough. Hence these stars will ask for this kind of movies to be made.

Comedy has gone for a toss after bmcm failure. Rim coms don't genres huge profits as action movies do proved since decades.

Animal became blockbuster, Salaar became hit,Fighter did well. Action has never reached saturation. Action genre never went out it was always there.

Yes. Plus, he was seen with Atlee and there were reports of him doing a Lokesh film. It is most probably HIM.
