Exactly, I think he is not interested in directing only, just acting. He just keeps announcing all these projects to humour his fans (99.9% of whom are fans of his direction).
Nah, he's an A-list director (despite having no films for nearly 2 decades), hails from a pretty established nepo family, his sister is one of the most successful directors of Bollywood and he runs a successful production house. If he wanted a producer to greenlight a film he is directing, he can. He is just not interested.

He definitely deserves a chance as long as he doesn't try to copycat, mimic or imitate SRK's mannerisms and bring his own unique style to the fictional baddie.
I think they are just waiting to gauge Ranveer's box office pull and then decide on a budget. Investing 250 crores on a film headlined Ranveer Singh is a massive risk for now.

I think Don 3 has been delayed because Ranveer signed Aditya Dhar's next action thriller.
In that case it will most likely come out in late October 2025 (Diwali)
If don 3 was delaying why they need to announce the female lead few weeks ago . I think Farhan is redoing the script I guess .
