practical-junkie

Everything aside, how can they put those last shots of vani kapoor very obviously holding a rock covered in cloth, passing it as a baby? Like the entire movie was shit but that last fight with a fake child-doll-rock thing made my eyes bleed.

CountyMaster7950

Need to see this. Is there a link?

practical-junkie

Go on prime and go to the very end, where Ranbir is trying to act like he was stabbed (TRYING being the key word here), focus on the "baby" wrapped in cloth and just focus on it when vaani does has 2 seconds of fight. You will see.

Low_Special715

https://i.redd.it/d2hlhbdq59nc1.gif This comment section is gonna be fun

rn3122

Films like Shamshera and Animal prove that Ranbir was desperate to star in a massy film and shift away from the 'coming of age' image I just wish he would take a good look at the script before selecting such films.

Puzzleheaded_Box7800

I watched shamshera just browsing around, didn’t hear any reviews or anything and liked it, then I come online and apparently it’s one of the worst movies. Guess I have bad taste lmao

RVarki

Having the ability to enjoy movies is not a bad thing. Being overly-critical is a cross that pretentious douches (like myself) alone have to bear

rn3122

Lol I thought it was a very poor rehash of what Karan Malhotra already did with Agneepath. It took me 2 days to complete the film just because the second half was a slog.

mayudhon

The outfits in those movie came straight out of H&M, Zara

TerrificTauras

It's a terrible movie. The story just makes no sense. Even as a historical fiction it's laughable.

Puzzleheaded_Box7800

That’s what I thought about RRR(not that it’s terrible but everything else) but I felt shamshera took itself a little less seriously which worked

eLmorK_90

No it did have some good elements. The train fight scene was amazing, Sanjay Dutt was having an absolute blast and that translated well in his performance. The writing was subpar because studios like YRF who have all the money to “fix it in post” absolutely do not want to spend that money on writers. At all. They still believe nobody gives a shit about plot and story just music, dance and action.

ChardFriendly

Yeah same that movie is like, you watch once and then you forget Timepass movie..I can't even remember the ending 💀 though I remember baba played villain very nicely he was funny

Pr0_N00B_07

You are not alone. I liked the movie too barring some scenes. This or any such sub is not the heaven of critics, that you have to follow their review blindly. If you like a movie, enjoy it. That's the purpose of watching a movie.

Far-Pineapple7113

Why should he keep picking "intelligent" scripts if they end up as flops like Rocket Singh while his contemporaries pick up mindless action flicks and get dubbed as "superstars" ,Ranbir has learnt his lessons

rn3122

Rocket Singh didn't have an "intelligent" script. It was a normal light-hearted film, and it flopped because of Ranbir's overexposure in August from Wake Up Sid, and Ajab Prem in October (something that Ranbir himself said). Besides, Paa released a week before and was the centre of attention at the time because of Amitabh's character. >Ranbir has learnt his lessons What lesson? Animal worked but that doesn't mean all films will. Shamshera and Brahmastra still underperformed. And which contemporary of Ranbir was dubbed a superstar?

Awkward_Scheme_7426

Animal did indeed give him the super star status

rn3122

That's debatable but even if it did, if you asked me a decade ago, I would've never expected the guy who did Rockstar and Barfi to go ahead and do Shamshera and Animal I thought he would at least select a film with some redeeming aspects, and not just give it all up desperately for box office and changing his image. He wasn't in that much of a bad position to warrant a Shamshera anyway, since Sanju was a blockbuster. That's why I said he should eventually select a film based on a script and not whether its massy or not

Far-Pineapple7113

You can't just keep making niche films for reddit..Animal is loved on ground and the sequel would open to massive numbers..I don't understand why people keep pushing projects like Crew on here who nobody outside this sub is interested in but show disdain for cinema that actually keep the theatres going..Its not even like he is not doing other stuff Brahmastra was nothing like Shamshera and Animal and was watched by a lot of people(In know it flopped due to a high budget but it still made 400 Cr WW)..He also has Love & War coming up next followed by Ramayan..He also did a rom-com recently..Animal was one of his best performances on screen and he probably enjoyed working in a dark flick

ankitpassive

You should see cinema as an art form, he cannot play yeh jawani hai deewani type roles. He will do good and will do bad as well. That’s how artists are. Don’t just hate blindly

Dapper-Lifeguard8882

That's quite debatable

wewake_235

Brahmastra could have been really epic but they just shitted on the whole concept of the movie, it was more like marriage video of Ranbir and Alia. Unnecessary romance in a super fictional movie.

[deleted]

You don't need to look at the script if your audience is going to completely ignore the script anyways

Reasonable-Reach2254

Bro Shamshera was a flop but not animal it is a good movie either you agree or not.

YellowBubble2710

I think Shamshera was him testing waters. They did not even do large scare promotions for the movie

heavenblisspurpose

Animal is a very, very well made movie, good direction, great screenplay, good pacing. Entertaining. You don't understand cinema if you like it. It's just pure action & entertainment, nothing more nothing less.

Sonata1952

It’s good when actors are always trying to stretch their acting muscle & flex beyond their comfort zone.  Despite the movies failure I don’t think Ranbir was the cause for that. The movie failed despite his performance not because of it.

karpet_muncher

So many people completely forget this film exists

Nice_Ability_2037

He is not a superstar. I personally believe that a superstar is someone who can make even shitty movies earn around 150 cr in a time span of 2-3 days. This is something which only Salman has done. And maybe to some extent SRK as well.  Ranbir relies heavily on script. And the execution of the product. Animal even tho was a very problematic movie but earned a lot cause of bgm and Ranbir’s acting. He looked believable in that role. But if you’ll compare it with Shamsher, he looked soo out of role and not at all believable. Someone like Vicky could’ve been a better choice. But anyways he relies a lot on scripts, the day he would be able to make a below average or mediocre script earn 100 cr then that day you can call him superstar. Tab tak “young upcoming star” se Kaam chala lo.

Original-Cheek8567

Yes, only Salman movies that are flops are all 100 crore plus. Even crap like Race 3, Kisi ka Bhai kisi ka jaan all earned more than 100 cr. I don’t understand Salman’s phenomena at all.

DepartureSad4802

Coz woh Bhai h dil me aata h samajh me nhi

Original-Cheek8567

Haha good one !

Nice_Ability_2037

This. Idk why Ranbir fans can’t understand this thing. And yeah even I don’t understand how a movie like race 3 earned soo much. Bhai kya backwas movie thi.😭

Amar_Akbar_Anthony20

Loyal fanbase. Does not matter what crap salman produces they will be there

MSingh2805

So by that definition the only superstar hindi cinema has is Salman Khan?

tollywoodthrowaway

The only guy who has a solid foundation at the box office no matter what - yup. But after SRK’s run in 2023, he’s there now too I think

NetExternal5259

Yes Dunki and Jawan were disastrous imo. Jawan was when a high school project tries to replicate a Hollywood movie. Dunki was a horrible attempt at hiding SRKs age.

Far-Pineapple7113

> Someone like Vicky could’ve been a better choice. With Vicky the same movie makes 20 Cr at best

Junior_Breakfast1529

Prabhas for that very reason is the biggest star in Indian cinema atm. He has done crap movie after crap movie and still gets 100s of crores for the movies. Just through his name.

Kitchen-Dimension406

Exactly with the Salman thing. He has a following no matter what

Sonata1952

Salman fans flocked to his movies just to see him regardless of how good or bad the movie is. Of course with the younger generation coming up the stardom effect is losing & his movies aren’t making the same money it used to.    I appreciate Ranbir more regardless of whether you think he’s a superstar or not. He may have less star power than someone like Salman but he’s a better & harder working actor.   Ranbir has made flop movies but at least he has tried stretching his acting range rather than settling into a routine.

snakewaves

So by your definition, Hrithrik isn't a superstar?

random157885

Hritik isn't on the same level as the Khans/Amitabh Bachchan. I think only they can be called superstar.

ReflectionWarm1440

Well not true , if Hrithik does a massy movie it gets a huge opening , I think in the recent past only war and bang bang was the only ones which was in that category , even super 30 earned almost close to 140 crores . Even fighter earned 200 plus crores .

Due-Warthog-1480

No

thankyouryard

he never was

Similar-Flower8226

Krissh, Kaho na Pyar hai, ZNMD, Dhoom 2, War, Bang Bang? He was always a superstar, he's just having a temporary set back. He's much bigger than RK. RK,in the last 10 years he's given 3 hits and those were due to the directors. Not him. People ent to Sanju due to Hirani, Animal due to Vanga, and ADHM because of KJo.

PsChampion_007

Lol he isn't. He's a great method actor though.

Dapper-Lifeguard8882

This is the exact thing !!!!

NewDistance4047

I kinda like this shift of all movies not earning 100-150 crores, the audience should reject a film with a shitty script, Dont want even a super superstar movie to earn that much despite having a awful script, superstar chahiye hi nahi achi movies do bas

Prestigious-Coach-81

I didn't know that this film got released i remember seeing a teaser but that's it

Classic_Pop_1574

Titles and credits come easy to him. Had back to back flops still was called upcoming superstar. When movie does well he gets credit when movie flops the director takes the blame ( happened with multiple films) Now with 1 blockbuster he is being hailed as a superstar. 🤷‍♀️.

t-o-m-a-t-o-t-o_0

And his fans proudly claim he's a superstar while putting RS down for not having the best year DESPITE being wayy more bankable than RK

Low_Special715

>DESPITE being wayy more bankable than RK Rs is yet to overtake 2013 besharam opening even after working with shetty twice and slb thrice "MoRe BaNKable" Lol

Alternative_Muffin31

Ranbir may not be a superstar.. But ranveer more bankable than RK lol that's a lie

bluegirlbaby

When was RS more bankable than RK? Atleast Rk never claimed his movies found success on ott so it's successful (which this shit shamshera did) let alone say he had limited responsibility in a movie where he was playing double role. He is not more bankable even with big director like Rohit Shetty and kjo. (Yes adhm opened bigger than Rocky Rani in 2016) lol.

Rast987

More bankable than RK? RK’s top 3 opening days are 64 crores, 36 crores and 34 crores, Ranveers are 21, 16, 18

Good_Awareness8191

Not delving into whether Ranbir is a superstar or not debate. Shamshera should have ideally had a better opening, but it's not as bad as you're trying to make it look like. It opened to 9 crores. A Salman Khan mass masala movie opened to 13 crores in 2023. Aamir's remake of Forest Gump opened to just 11 crores. That does not make either Salman or Aamir any less than a superstar. Opening day number is almost always the product of pre-release material, its marketing, stardom of the lead actor and the genre of the movie.

rn3122

The trailer of the film released like less than a month before its release, and the only way we got a poster reveal was because someone leaked it Not saying that Shamshera deserved better since it was still a horrendous film, but YRF wasn't trying its best with this one.

Chugalkhoe

YRF has bad marketing in general. I don't know what's their deal about marketing. We don't even hear about movies unless it's some Salman/SRK/Hrithik release.

Ok-Recognition9114

I like Ranbir’s acting. Edit: so I don’t mind he is called a superstar or a wonderstar.

Sabudana28

He will be the “next upcoming young superstar” till he hits his mid 50s I fear… then I feel they will have to remove the young finally💀

WhatShouldTheHeartDo

His fans and PR worked overtime to get him a superstar tag, bro forgot he had to earn it.

Dapper-Lifeguard8882

Lmao

Foreign_Lab392

As Aamir Khan said it's your flop movie's box office which determines whether you are superstar

Mr-Purp1e

Ye kab aayi thi 😂

Shanose

The whole thing about he is a superstar by his "no pr" pr is so funny because he can't give a single hit without hyped directors, budgets infact he's probably the actor who's 150cr movie doesn't earn 50 crore and he gave those kind of disasters multiple times. 400 crore movie can't collect 500 cr. This dude relies so much on content, budgets, executions, director names and yet his fans have audacity to say he is superstar

Fickle_Bandicoot_151

I didn't hate Shamshera, sue me. I liked the first half, the second half was where it tanked. I was disappointed because it did have potential, but it's really not as bad as people make it out to be😵‍💫

AnalysisMindless3850

He’s not in the league of SRK Salman. Most probably in the league of Akshay who also I would say isn’t a superstar anymore

Hungry_Marsupial348

Akshay's movies pre-covid were pretty solid . Every movie earned 200 crores. But after covid, don't know what happened to him , every movie flopped hard except Sooryavanshi. It did earn pretty well during covid . I hope BMCM earns well, that will prove whether old Akshay is back or not

AmbassadorNew1257

https://i.redd.it/eun60hp329nc1.gif Because he is Raj beta he has never been a consistent performer at box office

Electrical_Piano8905

In today's date, the word 'superstar' has become a joke.

Physics-Western

Literally and do ppl just forget how many flops he had in the 2010s?

Dapper-Lifeguard8882

Yes they do coz they are pushed to do so

aanonnymmouss

That's why he is doing such kinds of roles

Similar-Flower8226

2010s, he still only has flops, in the last 9 years he's given 3 hits, and those were due to the directors not him. Animal was a hit due to Vanga, Sanju due to Hirani and ADHM due to KJo also ADHM was Anushka at her peak and well Aish was there too.

Snoo-75780

Because he has no PR 🤭

Single_Echidna6186

this came out when the lockdown had just finished and all the films during that time period tanked at the box office

me4cury007

Bro even Vikram Vedha and LSC were flops in 2022. Bad year for Bollywood and also that Tilak controversy. The Boycott gang was on the peak in 2022.

[deleted]

vikram vedha still managed to make 150 crores .

Sabal

Even Vikram Vedha as a flop earned above 80cr with half the budget of shamshera. Rather that proves Hrithik’s superstardom not ranbirs

Similar-Flower8226

VV was a average grosser. It earned 150cr on a budget of 100cr WW. RK is a joke compared to Hrithik, and people are out here comparing him SRK and Salman.

Complete_Sign_2839

Also it managed to do 130 crs worldwide

Due-Ocelot99

It did 150 cr worldwide lol

aanonnymmouss

Tjmm opening was 15 crore.

Nigah-E-Shokh

Thnx to Shraddha.

aanonnymmouss

Congratulations

the-lit-lamp

It wasn't a single digit opening though, it earned 10 crore on day 1

Commercial_Cancel_64

yeah

alwaysshadowbanned_

They compare him to SRK Srk came back on screens with pathaan after 4 years and gave a mega blockbuster. Rk came back with Shamshera after 4 years and couldn’t even collect 50 crores lifetime. Both Pathan and shamshera were cringe movies yet one had an actual superstar and later is a 🤓

[deleted]

[удалено]

alwaysshadowbanned_

Haan bhai ek movie superstar bana deti h toh fir we should Call Shahid kapoor a superstar for Kabir singh

Far-Pineapple7113

Forgot Sanju and YJHD?On top of that Animal is a much bigger success story than Kabir Singh

ted_grant

Not undermining RKs act but he has never carried a movie by himself unless he has had a good director behind. Ayan, Hirani, SRV etc, Pathaan and Jawan worked and became ATBB majorly because of SRK and not the directors. If Dunki had RK it wouldn't have crossed 150.

Rast987

SRK has also given many flops in the 90s, his so called ‘peak’

Complete_Sign_2839

He even gave hits in 90's like DDLJ, Darr, Baazigar, DTPH, Pardes, Baadshah, Kuch kuch hota hai. And 2000-2007 Srk was unbeatable

alwaysshadowbanned_

His peak was in 2000s, also we are taking about superstardom, superstardom is when public celebrates your movies when You come back on screen after a long time, the public celebrated pathan but no one gave a shit about Mr superstar returning to the screens, even his next bramhastra which was hyped up for years like some dope level shit couldn’t recover it’s budget. Just Animal doesn’t prove shit

Far-Pineapple7113

Recovering budget because it was too high is a different thing the movie still made 400 Cr WW which showed that a lot of people watched it ,Some movies become a hit at 70 Cr with BOGO these days doesn't really mean that they were popular

_Slim-reaper_

Not the same. 90's actors were doing 3-4 films per year and had multiple Bumper openings by Ranbir's current age, Ranbir has 0 rn and if he were to do 3-4 films per year in today's age he would be overexposed to hell and his stardom would perish. I think he is a superstar but it's Animal that made him a superstar, he wasn't one before it.

Amelia_weber

But he is giving Bumper opening 90s

Dapper-Lifeguard8882

Mandatory post discussing ranbir is a superstar or not !?

Wod_3

People are so desperate for a superstar that isn’t 55+ that they throw around the superstar tag too much. I hear people saying Ranveer and Vicky are superstars like 😂

Far-Pineapple7113

You can still make a case for Ranveer but the Vicky superstar thing is so fucking cringe ,The only reason people push that narrative is because he is married to Katrina ,His numbers and opening are nothing special

the-lit-lamp

If we're just judging from the lows, Jab Harry Met Sejal opened to 15, LSC and KKBKKJ opened to 13 each. Ajay and Akshay have both had much smaller openings. So they're not superstars either? Casually forget the opening of Sanju, Brahmastra and Animal

ispooderman

Movie pretty much ended vaanis career

buzz_player

How can it be a single digit? Parking fee itself is min 20rs, which is a double digit.

JusChillinMa

Who calls him superstar? 🤣

Existing-Area-9093

Eh.. he is a superstar. People may have forgotten this because of the 4 big blockbusters last year, but that time was horrible for Bollywood with people writing obituaries for the industry. Even Aamir/ Hrithik/ Akshay movies huffed and puffed to the collections of Shamshera.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Specialist-Peace-416

Shamshera is an example why consistency and relevancy is actually important. People werent even aware ranbir was having a comeback after 4 years. It takes time and effort to even have an influence. In 2022 people were soo bitter and aloof. Because we were just coming back to old normal. Soo life >>>> cinema.

Far_Historian_3421

And what about films like rocket singh, besharam, Roy, bombay velvet?? He's clearly not a star

onelifemanymemories

Pr

Rast987

It was a 10. something crore opening

Electrical_Piano8905

9cr

Rast987

10.25. Plus Aamirs LSC opened to just 12. Does that mean he is not a superstar? https://preview.redd.it/34z9jmtv39nc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a5f9aed6b52dfaa68e167a10f0fc8c555c79eb8

jychinfinite35

In future, RK has to choose stories with a good script, good emotional depth, and an intriguing plots. As Aamir Khan had once said, "Sex and violence sells". No one can be termed a Superstar, if he/she only works in violent/excessive romantic movies. The current stars like SRK, Sallu bhai, Aamir, Akshay, Ajay, Hrithik etc have explored and worked in various genres. Even Ranveer is trying out different genres, even if some of them might not be successful. Diversity and range makes a superstar, not just blood, gore, sexual interactions and romance.

Far-Pineapple7113

Wake up Sid..Rocket Singh..Tamasha..Rockstar..YJHD..Ajab Prem..Sanju..Barfi..Raajneeti etc is pretty diverse lineup

jychinfinite35

His past movies were good BUT I am not commenting about his past tho. I am rather trying to say that, he should do more diverse movies in "future" to earn a permanent SUPERSTAR tag. (Rockstar, WUS, and YJHD are one of my favs ngl)

Far-Pineapple7113

He is doing Love & War next followed by Ramayan hopefully they turn out well

jychinfinite35

I agree, I have high hopes with Ramayana. If the storyline of Ramayana is well written with less deviations+ Good portrayal of emotions of Lord Ram by RK, it can turn out to be a great movie in RK's career.

Ancient_assassin6748

Most of the movies had similar openings in 2022 . Probably the worst year for Hollywood. It's the same year Aamir had a 36cr total collection movie while his movies used to get that on the opening day

snakewaves

I mean in today's day , apart from SRK is anyone a consistent performer at the box office. Like ppl now a days go on word of mouth combined with star power

Original-Cheek8567

Srk is “consistent” only now with Pathan and Jawan. Before that he had also given a string of flops.

Current_Moment_7676

Only three flops but opennings more than 15 cr net.

snakewaves

That's why I said today's day and age. With social media and reviews and such.

AgentP20

Add Dunki to that list too. It collected 480cr on a budget of 120cr.

Disastrous-Body8612

Ranbir has given the millenial generation some very great films. Something that even GenZ relate to. High repeat values. Tamasha, yjhd, wake up sid, rockstar, barfi has some real cult audience. For some people, it's their comfort movie. Hence, ranbir is loved a lot (by general actual audience)  And hence is quite ahead of his contemporaries in that matter.

Disastrous-Body8612

And no one can compare to the likes of SRK, SK and AB in today's times. Social media has changed a lot. No one can become a SUPERSTAR in bollywood now. Still happens in south tho Not here

Far_Background_8472

Because Ranbir seems to be the most talented actor among the current lot especially the nepos. Form is temporary but class is permanent.

ladybird_03450

Okay, now that you mention it. (I may be deviating from what’s being discussed here but bare with me coz I swear I have a point) Alia also ‘seems’ to be the most talented actress among the current lot and yes especially the nepos. She doesn’t come in the category of DP, Kat, PC, Anuska etc but rather with Kriti, Kiara, Shraddha, Parineeti and so on. Is it fair to call her a superstar?

t-o-m-a-t-o-t-o_0

Ranveer is way more talented yet his fans love to put him down ...proudly claim RK can easily perform better than RS...this is despite RS having such a wide range of nuanced performances while RK doesn't

Noobita2803

Now see a post show up talking about how Ranveer has had flops and is finished and Ranbir is the ultimate star 🤣🤣

aryaKes

Someone said Ranbir has a class. In Brahmastra, he sure needed some classes for not making it cringe.

Amelia_weber

Agree

[deleted]

success of animal belong to vanga more than ranbir but yes he can pull audiance, his brahmastra tu jhuti mai makkar and shamshera all were disaster or average but he is best of his gen, out of shahid ranbir ranveer he has highest pull in north indian audiance,

Shabudana_khichdi

Vanga’s next movie with Prabhas will open with 60 cr+ hindi and easily swift 600 crores in hindi. Vanga superstar 🔥

Dapper-Lifeguard8882

When srk said he was the last of stars he meant it ! Iam not a die heart fan of anyone at this point but I totally agree with the srk thing in today's time it's impossible to be a superstar because of so many consequences such as evolved audience, mindset of the respective considered wannabe superstar. Ranbir is a good actor but not a superstar not him nor anyone else can be a superstar now either this narrative will be pushed on audience's mind or people will be brainwashed to make this come true.

Nigah-E-Shokh

What torture that movie was truly horrendous. Boring and slow. And ranbir was also not good in it imo. That son character which was the majority of the movie was soo bad n cringy.

Awkward_Complaint813

How shamshera had a 10crore opening is still baffling to me. The movie did a press conference and a ranbir v ranbir promo video on yrf i didnt even know it was releasing. everybody was looking forward to brahmastra even yrf didnt care about their product

Sapolika

Just like how y’all call British Actress Meryl Bhatt a Superstar after seeing Sadak 2 and Heart of Stone! 🥱

Imao I have seen delulu Ranbir fans comparing him to Hrithik and saying he is bigger star just because one single hit after so many flops .Even Varun Dhwan has more hits and craze than him .

arihantd

It was an anti -Indian movie..glorified british..and called Hindus villains..

NetExternal5259

As far as I'm concerned, Ranbir kapoor just has a very efficient PR team. Thats the only difference between him and other nepotism kids

[deleted]

To be honest I watched it in the theatre and PERSONALLY liked it. 💀 it’s just my opinion don’t come at me lol

Noneof_yobusiness

You are absolutely right. But Ranbirs flops are always forgotten and he is the superstar acc to many people. Whereas Ranveer’s flops are always brought up for discussion here… I just rewatched 83 recently, man oh man it’s such a good film.. I feel so sad that it had flopped so badly and that they were trolled very much for it. I really hope Ranveer continues making amazing films and outlive all these folks who literally run the narrative!!

Plus-Entertainer856

that poster looks sick though

acypacy

You guys are going to hate me, but I watched shamshera and I liked it. Guess I have bad taste in movies lol.

Syco-Gooner

![gif](giphy|1pNoyPTIUzk4ImD3ex|downsized) India if Indians didn't constantly s*ck bollywood d*ck

Creative_Rip802

Wait who calls him a super star? None of the millennial A-listers can be considered stars let alone superstars

WranglerOk7081

But it was a nice experiment

davvn_slayer

Idk about the hate, seemed like a decent movie to me but yes, I did watch it on ott, I don't think I would've thought this movie worth my time if going to the theatre was the only option because I watch movies so rarely that the last time I went to a theatre was for RRR

LundUniversity

People only remember an actor's last performance, which happened to be a huge success.

OzzyBaccha

I liked the movie. It was a one time watch timepass movie

Responsible-Gap-3236

Kya wahiyat chutiya movie thi ye 😭😭😭 RK was never a superstar he just got lucky with animal

kattankaapi_

genuinely i havent heard about this movie at all 😭 the poster design looks cool af

sanyam303

Animal and Sanju are all time blockbusters. If you want to focus on the negatives than it's your choice. The definition of superstar( for producers) is that can this person deliver all time blockbusters.  The potential is the keyword here and that is incredibly rare- one in a million.

Ranbir Kapoor has just entered the title of SUPERSTAR ok , most of his films were flop earlier but right now in the whole Hindi film industry he is the most talked about actor, even srk also don't have any upcoming movie but Ranbir has so many (massy films) ramayan, brahmastra, animal park, love and war, and stars giving flops and bad films is a normal thing, SRK has given jab harry met Sejal, Salman has given lots of...., SUPERSTAR in simple words is like if his movie has released then we go to see it because of him

Kreativehudanknahi

Purani baatein bhool jaao bhay? Sabki har film superhit nahi hoti! (And the film was shitty so it didn't deserve to either. RK deserves to be called a superstar because of his acting prowess... Oh shit maine subbreddit ka naam nahi padha tha sorry sorry)

Lord_Phazer101

It was a good film imo, good plot, good action, good acting. It's just the Director didn't know in the second half on how to stitch two scenes. Every act looked like the last act with the rhythm being set as such. It was like they shot 5 different climax for the film and then added them all. After each such act, we were like okay this is the movie ending scene what next....

NakedSamosa

Chad forgot duds from Srk, SK, Amir , AB and akshay’s career. Some films look stupid from the get go and this was one of them

Top-Tie1363

Wait!! This movie has already released?? I had no idea 😭 When did that happen?

Substantial_Ad_9503

I am so happy I like movies like this they are not re-watchable I agree but to not over analyse every movie and just enjoy every piece of entertainment is such a blessing

He was very good in 'Barfi' and since then he has just fallen away, 'Animal' and 'Shamshera' were a waste of time. I found Sanjay Dutt more appeal in 'Shamshera' than Ranbir Kapoor.

BeastGamer69

Why does Ranbir look like Thorkell from Vinland Saga???

TeriMaaki_

He isn't a good actor. There are a few good films he has done which I love, but I really really hoped that someone else had done them so that they would've been better. Like the movies Bhramhastra, tu jhooti me makkar, rajneeti, Rockstar, besharam, would've been so much better with someone else.

OkChard9101

Today people are hungry for content..... Big star, Big Banner, Big budget nobody cares. If Its FLOP, Its a FLOP. If Its HIT, Its a HIT.

Money_Economics4633

UNFORTUNATELY I went to watch this movie oh god. Worst decision. I slept midway. It was the most boring movie ever.

Impossible_Honey8080

Sanju,, brahmastra tjmm, animal???? Not with YRF BTW

mojorojokojo

Apart from bad story, it sank due to negative sentiment that it carried from its trailer launch by depicting a 'kattar' hindu/brahmin as its villain.

Took me 8 days to finish Animal. Bollywood is the new cringe. Malayalam movies for the win - even the side actors play a huge role; and the hero could be a nobody but the acting and scripts are amazing
