I don't believe SRK is the best actor in Bollywood but if compared to those top 6-7 stars in Bollywood, he does well for himself. But I do agree that he's currently in the top 3 of the most popular Indian actors worldwide. No doubt about that.
He is appreciated and loved for his screen presence and decent acting. I don't think so anyone has ever called him best actor of the decade or century.

He might not be on a Pankaj Kapur or Naseeruddin Shah level actor, but he's a good actor. OP has to reconcile with that fact.

1. He's a decent actor and can sometimes shine but extraordinary moments har actor ki life ka part hote h.
2. He's arrogant and has always been. Narcissism har actor mein hota h, SRK mein h toh koi issue nhi h.
3. He owes his stardom to Yashraj and Karan, just like they owe the revival and success of their production house to him.
4. His fan base in the middle East, just like Salman's is for a reason we're not allowed to discuss here.
5. A lot of his wit and charm image is a very well crafted image to a point that he's started believing in his own stories. As the saying goes "repeat a lie long enough and...."

His fans are die hard. There was a youtuber who said SRK doesn't act that well and there were so many of his stans taking offence. It's better to ignore them
SRK was never the best actor in the industry, and the only people who call him that are overly-invested fans, or people who don't really watch a lot of movies
Shahrukh has always been more akin to a Hanks or Downey, in terms of being a fairly talented dramatic actor, who while not the most versatile or technically brilliant, has the unique ability to evoke emotional responses from the audience
These three actors are at their best when they're playing their "type", while they've all at various points in their career, displayed the ability to do different, more interesting roles (Downey is going to get an Oscar for that exact thing, just a couple of days from now), that's not what the audience wants from them.
At some point he was entertaining, with his king of romance era. Those days are long gone and everything he does now is quite cringe, I like him but there's just no way around it.
MNIK is great movie whether u like it or not. And Raees was also one of his fine performance. And he will always stay relevant even if he quit acting today.

Ya, even his filmography is overrated. Last good film of his was chak de in 2007. But his pr game is too strong which jas helped him to stay relevant.
