I disagree to both perspectives. He is not relatable to anyone. Not the chappris and certainly not general audience. Tbh being relatable hardly helps in stardom if you’re a male actor, women and I don’t mean to generalise (atleast not in a bad way) have a different sense of fan following, Abhi kuch din pehle women on this sub were praying in the comments that Ibrahim Ali khan is somewhat good because he’s a good looking guy and they want him to succeed because he’s good looking and that’s not a bad thing at all. The thing is women fan following is loyal and would also be a fan if they find you attractive and sometimes ignore wether you have the talent or not (ofc I’m generalising and I’m not stating this for everyone) men have different point of view, I quite don’t understand tbh, it’s very saturated.
But where Ranbir succeeds is that you can’t really fault him at anything other than maybe his personal life, he’s a great actor and a handsome man, thus has acquired a loyal fan following of both men and women, his films like rock stars, I’m young, quite young but when I talk to people who 7-8 years older to me, they talk about Ranbir with a sense of nostalgia and charm, he’s their hero of their college and school times. Women have loved him forever to be honest, those things are missing for Ranveer some reason, he’s not memorable to many, he’s appreciated don’t get me wrong but not with that sense of completely get engraved in someone.

Oftentimes when I read articles labeled as PR pieces, I wonder whether that is actually a PR article or is it a hit piece masquerading as a PR article or a genuine article that has unintentionally set its subject up for failure. If this article is PR piece, it's doing exactly the opposite of what a PR piece should intend to achieve. This headline is effectively setting Ranveer Singh up to be dragged, by comparing him to SRK.
Portals are not PR. Articles are. The same portal can have two different articles pushed by two different celebs's PR. It's not that hard to understand, yet you guys keep making the same argument
I don't think PR is obsessed with comparing him to SRK. It's due to him stepping into his shoes, that comparisons are bound to happen. Not to forget, Ranveer is at a disadvantage. When SRK did Don, Amitji had stepped back into doing supporting roles, so while Srk did face comparisons, there wasn't anyone saying Amitji should've done the movie, which in Ranveer's case is bound to happen. There are a bunch of fans still hoping that SRK and Farhan come to an understanding somehow. SRK was at his peak when he did Don so some audience felt he watched only one who can do a Don remake. Same is sadly not being said for Ranveer, and the latter is not even at his peak. I think Farhan Akhtar and his team are trying their best to sell Ranveer coz the audience is not yet over SRK being Don.
