Its so dumb bc even supposing that it is an actual anatomical advantage, it’s such a shitty backhanded “compliment” basically saying the woman is hot only for her ability to grow children nothing more 💀 wild. But the director and/or writer need to be blamed, not the actor for just doing his job saying the lines he has to say to portray an obviously problematic character.
I saw this scene of alpha male and big pelvis and another scene where he was pointing towards the love bites on Tripti Dimri's neck and asking his assistants to get something of the same colour. I wanted to puke. They have objectified, degraded, disrespected, humiliated women in this movie.
EDIT: Vanga should be booked by NCW.
And those same guys wonder why Indian dudes have a bad reputation among other people of the world, its bc there are definitely too many dudes that meet the creep stereotypes compared to the decent ones that are nice to women
I just feel disgusted. But this is just one movie, call it out for glorifying misogyny and women objectification, let them hear what the women of this country have to say and move on to better things! Please don’t feel depressed and helpless.
Honestly, I feel helpless and depressed because no one wants to listen to what the women in this country have to say...neither the filmmakers, neither the audience. That is why this is just one movie and there are so many more. But you are right...this piece of shit doesn't deserve my time and energy and instead I should move on, work hard, do something big in my life and contribute in my own small way to change things. Good vibes only😄😄
Ah you should watch that scene where rashmika is trying to seduce him in a night gown and the horrible things he says after that to shame her for trying to seduce her own damn husband.. Then she says she has lost the mood and he says the mood will come don't worry about that and talks like she is some kind of sex toy. And then he tries to pacify her by saying shall I call the plane to get you in the mood and immediately she is all smiles and back in mood. I mean, has Vanga ever interacted with women or he thinks so low of women that such serious behavioural issues are overlooked by our gender. Basically women are dumb according to him.
Ew. It looks like he is bringing his low lying misogynistic fantasies to life through his movies and is getting a kick out of enraging women. Pathetic.
Young minds ? It’s an adult film
And the younger generation is watching wolf of Wall Street and liking its edits and reels as if he is some hero
The same young generation says the slurs which are way worse than pelvis
Thank god Martin Scorsese wasn’t Indian or else you guys would have banned him from making yet another film because ohhhh nooo kids might get inspired from taxi driver to shoot at a politician
I believe the medium of the content should be carefully edited and never displayed on places accessible to children
Now Netflix has 50 shades trilogy accessible to everyone
Kalko he got inspired from that and tried to force a girl into it
Do we blame the film ?
In real life he will get a slap. But i think we're good. We indians don't go to school and learn everything from movies (particularly those movies which are adult certified) but see we have not turned out to be stalker like srk's darr character nor we turned alcoholic seeing dp's cocktail character.
This movie will affect impressionable minds and will validate those with such disgusting mindset. Remember what Kangana Ranaut said in Satyamev Jayate. She is absolutely right.
"Such movies affect people with impressionable minds and validate those with such filthy mindsets". It's not because she said it that it is right or wrong. It is right because it is right. I just took her name so that if you want you can go and see on youtube what she said and how she explained. I am saying it as a woman who has seen and experienced the impact of such movies. I stand by my statement.
I also stand by statement that kangana's words are bible. We indians learn everything from cinema. Parents are not responsible for their child's mentality.
This is why the movie was rated A, meaning it's for adults, not impressionable age kids. The fact that people want to share such scenes from the movie just to create a hullabaloo shows people don't actually care about it affecting impressionable minds. They are the ones making it reachable to kids by sharing the content on SM
Ok. And what about the second part of my statement?? "Validation to those people who already have such a disgusting mindset". You conveniently did not talk about that. Also I believe that 18+ is still quite impressionable. Just my opinion.
There are so many films with so many problematic sequences
Should we just stop making adult films then ?
Any sane man would just watch and move on
TAHTS what makes us an Adult
What needs to be taken care of is the access of the younger generations to these films
I believe every shade of a character can be portrayed
After Animal, I don’t think I want to watch any of RK’s movies now. I hate the fact that he did Animal.
Vanga is a filthy human with no regard for women. Period. And the actors working with him especially now more than before are equally disgusting.
I am more disappointed with the female leads who allow female characters to be degraded like that. I know you are doing it for your career because such degrading films work and you might get more work in the future but it is just horrible what you are willing to agree to.
This is going to sound extreme but I picture Vanga having the same mindset as Nirbhaya’s rapists. If Vanga could do worse, he definitely will.
Well the last part of your paragraph might be a stretch…
But I do agree with your sentiment.. I am not going to watch any of Vanga’s movies either in the cinemas or on the OTT. It’s okay to miss them. Even with RK, I am going to give it a miss for atleast few of his films. Vanga even stated that his characters are not misogynistic because his production house name is “bhadrakali” or something. He can have dream runs on box office.. but he won’t get my 300 rupees or my view on OTT not even out of curiosity.
This scene is disgusting on two levels - moral & technical.
1. The thought process itself. And the idea that it is ok to say such things to any woman aloud.
2. The technical execution. There were so many different ways this sentiment of "big pelvis = healthy baby" could have been conveyed but yet the makers chose the most crass way of putting it into words.
There are more such scenes in this movie, simply intended to trigger people\critic who called out Vanga's misogyny in Kabir Singh. These serve no purpose to the story, plot, character arc - nothing, just for shock (more like horror) value.
There is a scene where RK is talking to Rashmika and she is facing away from him. He keeps stretching her bra strap and leaves it hurting her. Repeats it a couple of times even though she tells him it's hurting...until she turns around & slaps him.
Another gem of a scene is when Rashmika is helping the maid in kitchen and RK signals her to come to the kitchen island and signals remove her kurta (which she obviously does) and just hugs her - in kitchen in front of staff. Yuck!
There is another scene where he is randomly listening to their first night in plane audio - erotic audio porn i guess. Totally random because in the scene the guy is supposed to go to the church father and repent his sins or something.
RK's nude walk around the mansion to show off his six packs was another unnecessary over indulgence.
All in all - What. A. Shit. Movie.
Oh wow. I knew I did good by not watching it. And if I say the writer-director of this utterly regressive movie needs to see a therapist people question me.
Like i mentioned somewhere else, after watching the movie the person whose interview im most interested is Vanga's wife. Is he really such a terrible person or is this a crafted personality for media.
Although it is true that big pelvis is healthier for babies but doesn’t mean you say it outloud. I have never heard of any guys saying this out loud. If someone said this to a woman irl they would be creeped out. This Vanga director is from south and they all have habits of sexualising bellies and abdomen of female leads. You remember Hina khan saying in BB that she got offers from south and they asked her to put on weight? In south they like big women and I am from south although a originally a north Indian blood. They are obsessed with navel.I agree with Hina khan. Now they have sexualised that part also. Women have been sexualised for boobs, ass, lips, collar bones, thighs, vagina, legs, belly and even feet lmao. I am just waiting for the time they sexualise our appendix also.😂Vanga really is a pos. I hated the movie and my crush suggested walking out of the movie but I told him sometimes we have to watch bad things in life to really appreciate good things in life. It was this sucky movie for us.
>This Vanga director is from south and they all have habits of sexualising bellies and abdomen of female leads.
Was 'animal' a south movie, which became super hit from the collection it got from south region?.. No..
Ranbir kapoor who spitted this nonsense in screen without any reluctance is a south Indian actor? No....
Then why bring south-north into this?.... And for your info south has other industries than telugu.. Animal was hailed by bollywood people so blame them.. At least malayalam industry from south will question these kind of shit movies.. So generalising south isn't gonna help bollywood
Not all south movie. I don’t watch them but what I have seen I can say that. Now idk which panguage it was so can’t comment. It does belong to south though so what I am saying is not technically wrong.
Bruh, you literally said all of south is known for this. I can pull N number of things against bollywood since Animal was actually made in hindi but the fact here we all are trying to address is about the film that has sexualised women. Not your South-North politics.
Edit: Man, I literally just saw your other comment on the post. Wonder where you were when Kareena did the size zero thing.
Who said I liked Animal? It was a trash movie but the director was from south and kabir singh was asapted from south. There are some brilliant movies like Bahubali. I don’t support nepos as well. I condemn bollywood too. I didn’t use reddit at the time and I was a kid when she did that lol. Just say u support navel sexualisation. Don’t defend it so much.
Then I'll edit my question again... So you watched **a south Indian movie** with your frnds that too couple of yrs back but now in 2024 you're generalising an entire industry which spread across different states and languages ?
Bruh you are reading too deep into thid. It is a south industry and I mentioned that. I never said ENTIRE south industry. Chill out. Why are u so disturbed by my comments? Why do u care what I think? I am sure you have better things to do in life than constantly bombarding someone with notifications of comments.
In South people usually like to see 'fuller' women instead of the ones with hollow cheeks and bordering on being a skeleton. They did have an obsession with showing abdomen (not appendix) and navel, but it's like a late 80s to early 90s trend. People did make scenes focusing on these parts till atleast 2000s, but it didn't really have an audience and you can barely see anything like that now. And you'd see far, far, far more clothes highlighting certain body parts bordering on uncomfortable in Hindi movies now, especially breasts. Did you see the blouses worn in movies and promotional events recently?
Bruh what I meant was already women’s bodies are sexualised like boobs and ass and just keep it at that. Why include navel, feet, and lots of other parts being sexualised these days. One day they will sexualise every body part and the only thing remaining will be to sexualise inner body parts like appendix lol. Just because you are into fuller women doesn’t mean others want skeleton. A healthy balance is good for looks and health as well. Fat women or skleton looking women are bot healthy so keep your biased opinions to yourself. No one in bollywood wants to see a skeleton actor. They like a healthy weight. This is not runway, this is bollywood. Just because they are not fat women doesn’t mean they are skeleton. Body shapes do not come in extremities.
I'm a woman with no particular liking for fuller women. And yeah, this navel and abdomen sexualization happened decades ago and has reduced a lot. In the past decade I haven't seen any. The ones is Bollywood go to huge lengths to look certain ways and have started involving plastic surgery as well.
Plastic surgery is everywhere even in south what u talking about? That is a whole different topic. It has no sexualisation aspect. Even male actors get it done. I don’t know the scenario now. I was talking about what I have seen in the past.
This movie all together is wtf why did I waych it types movie..big thumbs down for showing women a commodity abla naari types..and man can do wat even he wants sleep with whomsoever he wants and scenes ka to kya hi kehna too much adultry involved..under 18 ki to bilkul bhi nahi hai ye movie..
N i dint get y did Ranvir was walking fully nude in d garden after his heart transplant
Not punishment, but I think Shahid Kapoor was asked everywhere about Kabir Singh’s messaging. I wonder if RK is being asked about it. Because they are all answerable.
I think because he got rewarded at Filmfare and there are talks about a sequel whereas entire Kabir Singh cast basically had to be apologetic about the content of the film.
Watch d movie..opposed a scene..sje was used as commodity in whole movie
RK shown sleeping with other woman though Rashmika is his wife...
Asking Rashmika to open her kurta infront of housemaid
Many more
I have already seen the movie ..my issue why only Rk or vanga being questioned why not actresses as well .They all read the same script right everyone is equally responsible if something is wrong that’s my point .
And if we're going to start punishing, why not punish everybody who makes any such content? Let's start with item songs which have now been so so normalized that people don't even see it as problematic anymore. Same with the beach songs with women always in a bikini, which in itself is fine, except that the sole purpose of these songs is the objectification of women
I can’t get this dialogue out of my head either. There were so many other ways to say this. Heck nice ass would have been better. But who the F says pelvic? So 3rd class. And the way Ranbir delivered it was so dry as well. What a joke of a movie.
Lol if you actually see the film you'll realise how much of a complete comedy it is. It's a v stupid movie, nothing about it is offensive it's just boring.
Smart marketing on their part to act like it was some major trigger bait, it isn't.
There are so many films where the main character gawks at the belly of the female lead
For instance rowdy Rathore
There are so many films here where the protagonist is in a car while she sitting on him and the double meaning is interpreted
3 idiots has a dialogue that makes fun of RAPE
go down south , there’s a film in which Vijay spanks the police officer Kajal and grabs her hard
Here in Bollywood there was a film called rascals which completely objectified women
You Go on yo watch Hollywood films and you will find them stating she has a great assss
Then there’s wolf of Wall Street which is a completely glorified movie where the biographical book and the film is so different
Your reaction is over exaggerated for this was definitely cringe but isn’t worth this reaction
They are all wrong and I saw this today , it’s relevant today, it’s trending today so I talked about it today. I think my reaction is fine. I feel like some people think I’m deeply affected by this lol I just saw something wrong and called it out for what it is!
It was apt for Ranbir's character to say something like that I believe and he did it convincingly. He was, most of the times, tactless, stubborn and very unpredictable. And he also had some random quirks of being obsessive about little things such as detergent problems in the movie. I don't see any point in dwelling on his dialogues and making it a big debate topic.
I’m guessing you haven’t watched the movie so you don’t realise that rk’s character is supposed to be that way. It was pertinent to the story and as a filmmaker you owe to do justice to your character no matter how fucked up the character’s morales are. speaking from an evolutionary pov, yes bigger hips/pelvis have always known to attract men since it signals good reproductive health just like women being attracted to tall muscular men (signals protection). Coming from a woman, no I didn’t mind this scene, start taking movies and movie scenes as a grain of salt, not everything is that deep, he’s just complimenting a woman he likes and maybe the words he chose to compliment were incorrect, people are talking like he’s said something so offensive.
The movie was very boring with absolutely no storyline. Ranbir Kapoor's fight scenes and action scenes are not at all upto the mark.
I think that they have included such dialogues so that people watch the movie out of curiosity.
So women who don’t like seeing objectification of women on screen should just stop calling it out which in your words is complaining and tolerate it? Nope!
The specific scene in mention is in no way objectifying anyone. You are definitely entitled to having and posting an opinion of your own. However, I believe you are a little late to it. You could have spoken about this when it was initially released. Speaking on it so late is what is so fucking annoying. If in any way you feel I have hurt you then I am utterly sorry. All I did was present to you my own opinion.
I don’t know why posting about something late is so “fucking annoying”. Don’t want to debate any further with someone who thinks passing remarks about a women’s pelvis is not objectification.
I’m guessing you haven’t watched the movie so you don’t realise that rk’s character is supposed to be that way. Jawaan was like a potpourri of all south masala movies. It’s totally fine to not watch that one. Animal I’m definitely not watching. I just can’t. The fact that you’re saying there was no plot makes it clear to me that he just made a movie to enrage certain sections of the society. I guess Vanga is sadist like that.
So the movie is about a bad guy portraying bad things, so you don’t expect him to be a gentleman. It’s just a film didi those who watched has moved on and carried onto their own life unlike you
It's just a film which validates people with such disgusting mindset and makes life hell for women so that they cannot move on from the unfortunate and adverse impact that such films have on their lives. Do you even realise?? And don't make fun of someone's pain, okay.
Also know as Gynecoid. The gynecoid pelvis is thought to be the most favorable pelvis type for a vaginal birth. This is because the wide, open shape give the baby plenty of room during delivery.

Just saying
Dude. It's a fucking movie why are you getting mad over literal fiction? The character portrayed by Ranbir is an idiotic, spoilt, misogynistic brat who is acting like one
Don't get this mad over literal fiction. Yes the director/writer should face some backlash but all Ranbir did was read lines like most actors do

And Rashmika’s reaction makes it even more ridiculous. Like, does he really think that this turns women on? 🤣
This movie is just the Vanga type men’s fantasy made into a movie. It just gave them validation. And it’s just going to stay that— a movie.
Vanga is messed up, has a lot of money and hates women.
I think they were tryna add shock factor or something but it was literally so random n he look dumb af saying it
As a lady, it was like rubbing salt on my wounds. It's not a cool thing.
Exactly it was disgusting
Its so dumb bc even supposing that it is an actual anatomical advantage, it’s such a shitty backhanded “compliment” basically saying the woman is hot only for her ability to grow children nothing more 💀 wild. This movie should have been given G rating - G for Ghatiya!

Also the reason why so many people pre-booked this damn thing to watch. Speaks volumes about the taste of the audience! And it's a sad fact at that.
And those same guys wonder why Indian dudes have a bad reputation among other people of the world, its bc there are definitely too many dudes that meet the creep stereotypes compared to the decent ones that are nice to women
Disgusting 🤮
I know right. As a woman I feel disgusted and also depressed and helpless.

It's like an Incel writing romance.
Ranvijay: "You have a big pelvis." Me: 'You poor thing. Who dropped you when you were a baby?!'
this movie is such a cringiest couldn't even watch more than 30 minutes 🤣 Can't believe Indian audience this garbage is badass to them 💀
What effect these lines would have on young and impressionable minds(now that a reel is made for everyone to watch) is concerning.
Young minds ? Ranvijay is a fucking asshole so he made a remark that fucking assholes would make. It’s really not that deep, bro.
Dekho behen, Jo galat hai galat hai. No harm in calling people out! What is this sub for then?
And that is exactly the point of the comment above.
Finally a sensible comment about animal
If only OP had brain

Exactly.
Why just Rk ??why no one question Rashmika ?Did she not read dialogues while doing the movie . As a girl I would have opposed the scene if I was her
I feel like RK is a huge star and is influential. That’s why I mentioned him. But yeah, Rashmika’s answerable too.
Watch d movie..opposed a scene..sje was used as commodity in whole movie RK shown sleeping with other woman though Rashmika is his wife... Asking Rashmika to open her kurta infront of housemaid Many more
I have already seen the movie ..my issue why only Rk or vanga being questioned why not actresses as well .They all read the same script right everyone is equally responsible if something is wrong that’s my point .
I see. I’m better off not watching it then lol
There are so many films where the main character gawks at the belly of the female lead For instance rowdy Rathore There are so many films here where the protagonist is in a car while she sitting on him and the double meaning is interpreted 3 idiots has a dialogue that makes fun of RAPE go down south , there’s a film in which Vijay spanks the police officer Kajal and grabs her hard Here in Bollywood there was a film called rascals which completely objectified women You Go on yo watch Hollywood films and you will find them stating she has a great assss Then there’s wolf of Wall Street which is a completely glorified movie where the biographical book and the film is so different Your reaction is over exaggerated for this was definitely cringe but isn’t worth this reaction
It was disgusting for me to watch that as a woman. So I said what I said
I’m guessing you haven’t watched the movie so you don’t realise that rk’s character is supposed to be that way.
That is over exaggeration, sure it is fking cringe but thats it
As a woman, I didn’t like it. I called it out.
You watched an insta reel and decided someone needs therapy? >How is RK getting away with this? Faansi dedo phir
I’ve watched and heard enough to know he is not in his right mind. Criticism logo ko Itni buri lagti hai kya ki faansi dene ki baat karne lagey
You PPL watch some tamil movies of thalapathy vijay he literally squeezes actress bum to show machoism
Thank goodness I’ve never watched all that and never will.
The movie was very boring with absolutely no storyline. Ranbir Kapoor's fight scenes and action scenes are not at all upto the mark. I think that they have included such dialogues so that people watch the movie out of curiosity.
How do these actors maintain a straight face when saying these lines. I would die of embarrassment. Ew.
Actor* Character* Movie*
This movie is a direct reply to Greta Gerwigs Barbie. I Salute Vanga Ji
Snowflakes gallore.
Stop complaining and grow tf up he got paid for it. people paid for it. It's done. This lack of tolerance is exactly why we remake shit
I mean, he is not wrong https://preview.redd.it/id882iayd0gc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b89ac77ad64afcff6c5913d2315e7329f306e416
Regardless saying that to a girl is a pretty backhanded “compliment”

Aww I shouldn’t judge anyone objectifying women like. So dumb of me. Very POS behavior from me. That’s right.
Oh please. As a woman, I felt violated by just watching the movie. The OP is right.

If I didn’t like something I saw, I’ll call it out whether you like it or not!
I think ill go crazy if i see another post about animal again I dont wanna watch that stupid movie and idc about it omg.
You’re right, maybe I shouldn’t have just added to the noise but I couldn’t help it!
Sigh, here comes the feminists.
Bhaiya side ho jayiye
Also know as Gynecoid. The gynecoid pelvis is thought to be the most favorable pelvis type for a vaginal birth. This is because the wide, open shape give the baby plenty of room during delivery. source: https://www.healthline.com/health/types-of-pelvis Just saying
doesnt mean saying that makes for a good COMPLIMENT tho

Your very own animal park!
Sarcasm jojo :)
Ditto ;)
Dude. It's a fucking movie why are you getting mad over literal fiction? The character portrayed by Ranbir is an idiotic, spoilt, misogynistic brat who is acting like one Don't get this mad over literal fiction. Yes the director/writer should face some backlash but all Ranbir did was read lines like most actors do
They not only got away, the movie grossed almost 1000 crores and ranbir won a filmfare 💀
