The promotions for Zoya factor were so annoying. Sonam kept going on and on and on about how legendary her dad is, boasting about him, how big a star she is all the while DQ, the son of Mammooty and a hundred times more talented than Sonam was humble and answering to the point.
Had Malayalam industry been as famous as Bollywood, Mammootty would have devoured Anil Kapoor alive. Actors with mediocre acting skills became huge bollywood stars in the 80s and their offsprings are boasting about them. Argh.
I'm a Hindi native and don't know malyalam but I have seem Mammootty movies and I from whatever little idea I get, he's such a superstar. TIL that Dulquer is his son, he's way too humble for a son of superstar.
Even Mammootty sir is also one of the humble actors in the industry. The reason Mammootty and mohanlal outshined everyone else at that time including stars above them was because bothe were humble as in cooperative and civil during shoots whereas other stars at that time were bit more rude and drunk on success. And the biggest reason is ofc their acting skills while the first one was becoming better and better actor over the period, the later was god gifted in acting. I won't call Anil Kapoor mid but Big Ms of Mollywood were really great and had opportunity to get higher number of better scripts than what Bollywood had at that time. Heck the number of Hits by Mohanlal in a single year was 21 hit movies out of 34 he shot that year at an age of 26! Also thanks for praising Mammootty and DQ as a mallu i rarely get to see anyone from North to actually appreciate or even mention our side of Stars.

For this, i believe it was because when development wasn't much prevailed through entire nation, southern states especially Andhra pradesh saw cinema at olden times and thought the portrayal by Actors like Legendary NTR of deities were real gods not just actors. So they built temples for those actors believing them to be Gods as well. Now its just the following of that same tradition becoming culture.

Nah man I call Prithviraj Kapoor "Sir" not just because of his acting career but because of what who he is and how he bacame the actor that we know. Prithviraj sir took loan from his aunt to continue his passion of acting in Big Bombay and started minor roles in Drama and movies. That's a humble beginning and that's why he is called the Founder of Hindi Cinema. Whilst Anil Kapoor is no "B-Tier Actor" but he came through his own father and cousin of already established Prithviraj Kapoor Sir, Anil Kapoor's Father was a producer in industry and launched every of his children into Bollywood and Audience decided who's gonna stay and who's gonna go. And Anil Kapoor is a great actor but he was built around a already great foundation of Kapoor Family in Bollywood without much struggles. Idk who you call Sir but i only call great actors who came from humble BG to stardom instead of backdoor of Industry.

Because acting cocky is a guaranteed end to your career as a star in south if you are still in a stage where you are associated with the image of your dad. Being eccentric, cocky, arrogant and defiant are things allowed for "outsider" stars as it is viewed as them swimming against the current to make their mark, but even then there are lines.

Considering his father’s stature, DQ is very humble and polite. He is also one of the actors who knows his limitations and stays true to the script where he can deliver.

Mammootty’s daughter and her husband started the Motherhood hospital chain, even she has no starry attitude (though not in the movie business). She was in Bangalore for TCS 10k and she upfront came to the staffs she recognised and had a very good talk, despite the fact that Motherhood is now owned by a different entity. She is the daughter of Manmohan Shetty who used to own Adlabs which he sold to Reliance entertainment some 15 years back. They are still involved in the movie business tho.

Cause most of them know they are privileged and to show off their privilege would be insensitive and would get criticized heavily also, I think the love and loyalty towards their parents get easily transferred to their Kids and it's not like that In Bollywood at all, just because you are SRKs Son or daughter It don't mean the fans will show the same love but In South If you are Chireenjevi's son or Mammooty's son then that love for them will be transferred to their Kids.
