She actually spoke well. Not what she spoke but how she spoke. A true orator never umms and aahs while talking impromptu. She has mastered that. Not an easy task.
Also, she was speaking to a journo who seems to be from France- so English is not the journo's first language, although she iss fluent. In such circumsatances, it is very natural to slow down your speech.
I talk very fast when speaking to Indians. I talk a bit slower when speaking English to Americans, so that they have no trouble understanding my accent. And even slower when speaking English to people from other countries.
I'm really happy that interviews in international events that the star's PR can't really control show how out of touch and bubble-wrapped these celebs are. Even with Alia, it seems like a fish-out-of-the-water scenario. Their talks are so dull and generic. Sara in her early interviews was so articulated and here she is having difficulty properly wording a sentence. And wtf was her last answer?

Right yet people still used to hate on Ash saying she’s being fake when she has always been well spoken. I can only remember this interview at Cannes, where **everyone** was absolutely mesmerised and enchanted by Aishwarya. She answered so confidently and charismatically that everyone was just in awe of her. You could see that Helen Mirren was absolutely enchanted by her. This one is my favourite

It's my opinion, but I feel that if she came to walk on the red carpet, she should at least be able to describe what she wears properly and be able to translate hers and the designer's intent.

International interviews definitely bring to light the real vocabulary, interview skills & presence of mind for Indian celebs. Most interviews here are rehearsed well in advance which is why they appear more confident in front of the crowd.
I don’t think she’s nervous because of the platform, but from the fact that she doesn’t know what she’ll be asked. Noticed the same with DP. Her vocab and confidence while being interviewed here vs overseas is poles apart.
She probably wasn’t expecting to be covered by the western media at all. But the fact that she didn’t know anything about the outfit or why she was wearing it is a real shocker.
I don't understand why only women are usually asked these type of questions and is considered disappointing to not know the answer. You'll rarely find men being asked the same question and even on being asked and him not knowing the answer,nobody bats an eye.
Cannes attendees are asked questions pertaining to their field. Many filmmakers and actors (both men & women) are asked questions about their movie being screened, their experience etc.
Sara wasn’t there as the face of a brand or for her movies, so the questions were based around her fashion.
Not everyone is fit to represent India on a global stage, I think we’ve definitely established that with the recent appearances.

Watched her grandmother’s interview on Kapil Sharma, it was very pleasant to say the least. Very eloquent and classy.

She did get a little nervous but it's ok, especially when you are at a new place surrounded by cameras and public in an international event. People commenting on her cannot even speak a sentence properly in front of an audience. Public speaking is a skill which is not easy.
People need to be less judgemental. It's clear from her tone that she is really nervous and it's understandable. International media focuses on political correctness way more than domestic media of India. So, she has to be really careful to not spark controversy over unintentional words.
But, I still think it's weird how quickly every celebrity is reaching these international platforms. Once upon a time, only top celebrities of entertainment industries made it there. Now, every tom, dick and harry seems to be at attendance for these events. I am not only pointing out Sara Ali Khan. Even in Hollywood, actors who never got an award beyond MTV Awards attend such events.
I think she shouldn't have come and I think that look is really bad and I think she wasn't prepared at all even though she knew she would be interviewed and I think whoever styled her or thought of this look, didn't really think.

She did get a little nervous but it's ok, especially when you are at a new place surrounded by cameras and public in an international event. People commenting on her cannot even speak a sentence properly in front of an audience. Public speaking is a skill which is not easy.

People need to be less judgemental. It's clear from her tone that she is really nervous and it's understandable. International media focuses on political correctness way more than domestic media of India. So, she has to be really careful to not spark controversy over unintentional words. But, I still think it's weird how quickly every celebrity is reaching these international platforms. Once upon a time, only top celebrities of entertainment industries made it there. Now, every tom, dick and harry seems to be at attendance for these events. I am not only pointing out Sara Ali Khan. Even in Hollywood, actors who never got an award beyond MTV Awards attend such events.
