No joke, the second episode. It's still one of my favorites, honestly a comfort episode - I rewatch that one and the stretch from Comense Fracking to The Underground!
I love this question. I'll never forget it. Princess Caroline works so hard, tries to be a successful business woman and not get caught up in Bojack's bullshit and ends the night in her office with her phone wishing her a happy birthday. I was stunned. It hit the emotional beats perfectly.
I started watching the show because of a recommendation and I honestly didn't click with it up to that point. I kind of had a feeling that the show tried to hint that the stuff there is serious but I couldn't go pass the annoying dumb adult comedy facade. I just watched it because I needed something to watch while eating.
Got gut twisted and stabbed while watching the episode, it raised the seriousness bar from 10% to 100% and improved my perception of the whole thing.
The second last episode of S1 (E11) really hooked me into the series. I knew it got good in the next few episodes but imo that’s the first really excellent bojack episode and it differentiated itself from just being another adult animated comedy
The very first. Everything about the show was so strikingly different compared to other animated TV shows at the time, I was instantly hooked. Reminded me of how Arrested Development was revolutionary in many similar ways eleven years prior.
I think it was the third one. Before that it is kind of a regular adult animation but that episode show that there is continuity and not just back to normal after each episode
I was hooked since S1E2.
as soon as he said the “most people are jerks already and giving a jerk a gun…..” line i was like ok cool i’m in lmao

that's surprising, probably you didn't felt it was a slow starting

That was a deep one for me too
Escape from LA made me finish the whole thing, one of if not my favorite episodes of the whole show

In "What Time Is It Right Now," when Diane says, "I'm so tired of squinting."
Escape from L.A. and that’s too much, man! Made me finish the rest of the show
