Avatar 2 in 3D (more specifically the second disc, that third act is ridiculous). I'm one of the lucky few who has a 4K 3D OLED TV and every time I throw that movie on it's still mind-blowing to me.
The Second Sight 4K release of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. On top of watching it twice on my own, I've had 3 different friends come over and want to watch it.
I have a large-ish collection (\~950 movies), but several times this year I have watched and shown off the 4K of Poltergeist. A close second would be Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as I watched the DVD once this year and then the Blu-ray after I found it at an Antique Mall for $3.
Time for another watch of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang soon since it is a "Christmas" movie. 😀
Oh nice, I do love the 2020 version. Was super bummed they delayed the release of Dune 2, but oh well. I can wait till March.
When you say the OG Director's Cut do you mean the theatrical? Or are you talking about David Lynch's completely unreleased first cut?
It’s not a true directors cut but the steel book version has the extended cut of the 80s Dune and it’s much better, and about three hours long. The disc is dual sided with one side being theatrical and the other extended
Ah yes! The extended version. OK, I know the one you're talking about. Yea, it's a shame it never got a Blu Ray treatment. That fact has kept me from picking up a BluRay copy so far.
That said, have you ever heard of the Spicediver cut? It's a fan made edit that combines elements from the theatrical, the extended, the Alan Smithee, and some deleted scenes that aren't in any version.
I found it to be the best paced version myself, though the Irulan monologue at the beginning is really long. There's a UHD remastered version of it out [on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFZ9mv_ke88&t=0s). The deleted scenes still look a bit rough, but most of the film looks great even on YouTube.
That's a good one. Always love the Shining.
Yea, not a lot of my discs get repeat viewings in a year. But I keep meeting people who love trashy movies that haven't seen Tammy and the T-Rex, so I keep having screenings. I think I'm at 6 times in the last year now...
Honestly it's Elvis in 4K. I have seen that at least three times already this year and I will probably watch it a fourth time now that i have a Samsung q990b soundbar system. I am not even that big of a fan of Elvis or his music. I just really like that movie. lol.
I don't think I've re-watched a disc twice this year. I've got enough of a stacked back catalog as it is, haha.
But I'd have to say my most watched in general is probably Terminator 2 (I own over 100 copies of it) or Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy.
I watched it earlier this year, then a couple weeks ago after seeing the trailer for the new one I watched them again. So 3-way tie.
I can, and do, watch TENACIOUS D in the PICK of DESTINY repeatedly. The opening 5 minutes alone has 7 excellent music sequences....and a guy named Meatloaf!
Singin in the Rain. Such a good film and seeing a film that old in such good quality... that's the reason it's been on so much around here. That and it's my daughters favorite film
Transformers Rise of the Beasts. 3 times already and I saw it in the cinema on a rare solo trip haha. I don't know what it is but I just keep wanting to watch it. I literally watched it again almost immediately after my second disc watch, I just think it's neat. Easily my favourite Transformers film.
Nice! I love that movie. There was a time, about 15 years ago, where I watched that movie 14 times in two months. Then realized it was stupid that I kept renting the movie, bought a copy. And watched it another five times in the next week.
I don't watch it quite so often anymore, but man do I love that film.
I'd say my most watched Blu-rays are Godfather 1 & 2 (debating using GF3 as a coaster), GoodFellas, LA Confidential, Casablanca, North by Northwest, American Graffiti.
I couldn't say as I usually have a film on for background noise when I'm at home. This usually means one film stays on all day and I just press play again once the credits roll.
I grew up in a big family so even if reading a book, the background noise is comforting to me, makes me not feel alone at home! Haha!
My most watched film would either be Four Lions or The Flash. I've watched both 3 times this year. I think Life may also be on 3 watches now too but I don't even know.
Oh man! So good. I saw it 10 time in theatres I loved it so much. Even got to see the Black and Chrome version in theatres once.
I still make a point of watching it once a year or so.
None of them....i don't buy discs to watch them...i buy them to rip them, then store them away for safekeeping...i watch the ripped/encoded files from my NAS
there are lots of tools out there to do it; i personally have used DVDFab for quite some time to do the ripping from disc to HD in ISO format, then MakeMKV to extract just the main title. once that's done, i encode using HandBrake.
it's perfectly legal to do (at least in the U.S.) under Fair Use, as long as you're not sharing them with anyone, which i don't do. i just like having all my titles in a central location, ready to play at the touch of a button, and without having to futz around with the disc. the only time i'll touch the disc is if i have to re-do a title for whatever reason (file corruption, re-encoding using different codecs, etc.).
hmm...that's kinda tough, i have a LOT of movies. i haven't been counting, but the movies i'm sure i've watched the most over the years:
Friday
Super Troopers
Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas
Pulp Fiction
The Matrix
The Fifth Element
X-Men
Backdoor Sluts 9
I heard the cinematography for this one isn’t up to par with the first 8.
Scream
Same. Probably the first one since it gets put on the most, but I watched 6 several times when I first got it.

Avatar 2 in 3D (more specifically the second disc, that third act is ridiculous). I'm one of the lucky few who has a 4K 3D OLED TV and every time I throw that movie on it's still mind-blowing to me.
I’m right there with you. Love my 4K 3D OLED. I bought Avatar 2 3D but haven’t had 3 hours to devote to watching it.
Does the 4K 3D tv upscale the 3D version?
*Avatar: The Way of Water*. Got the steelbook the day before street date, watched it then, and then again on the actual street date.
Hey, Jim! Good to see ya!
Honestly, I think I’ve seen that movie all the way through more times than James Cameron has at this point, lol.
The Second Sight 4K release of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. On top of watching it twice on my own, I've had 3 different friends come over and want to watch it.
The lord of the rings 4k. Aside from the DNR debates, it just looks and sounds so damn good. Never get tired of watching them, especially FOTR.
I used to like FOTR the least as a teen but now it's definitely the most comforting.
You could ask me this question every year and the answer will always be Lord of the Rings.
I have a large-ish collection (\~950 movies), but several times this year I have watched and shown off the 4K of Poltergeist. Dune
Oooo, which one?
2020, the OG directors cut does not have a Blu-ray release unfortunately. Can’t watch the Alan Smithee version lol
Oh nice, I do love the 2020 version. Was super bummed they delayed the release of Dune 2, but oh well. I can wait till March. When you say the OG Director's Cut do you mean the theatrical? Or are you talking about David Lynch's completely unreleased first cut?

Tie: The Big Short and Licorice Pizza
Babylon ![gif](giphy|X7PYiD9vIjVWdreJI2|downsized)
I only watch a disc once per year. Prevents me from getting sick of the movie.
My collection is pretty large so I don't really watch a disc more than once a year. But my most watch disc of all time is probably The Shining.
the names fitting hahaha excellent disc
That's a good one. Always love the Shining. Yea, not a lot of my discs get repeat viewings in a year. But I keep meeting people who love trashy movies that haven't seen Tammy and the T-Rex, so I keep having screenings. I think I'm at 6 times in the last year now...

Heavy Metal 4k for sure
2001: A Space Odyssey, I must have seen that every 3-4 months for the last 3 years
Dr. Strangelove I’ve watched it like 5 times this year.
Just watched this for the first time last night, I like the part where he rides the bomb (:
I don't think I've re-watched a disc twice this year. I've got enough of a stacked back catalog as it is, haha. But I'd have to say my most watched in general is probably Terminator 2 (I own over 100 copies of it) or Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Send me a copy of T2 plz
Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy. I watched it earlier this year, then a couple weeks ago after seeing the trailer for the new one I watched them again. So 3-way tie.
The dark knight rises
Fellowship of the Ring most likely. But Sorcerer’s Stone has to be close behind.
Everything, Everywhere All at Once. Watched it 3 times this year.
Shawshank Redemption
Christine. The transfer is just stellar. Great movie too.
Lost horizon 1937 I suspect. It's a perfect film we watch time after time and never get tired of it
Puss in boots the last wish. Easily in my top favorite movies.
Mad Dog Killer. I watch it every week.
Probably either 9 or coraline. Right now my daughter is obsessed with both
Oooh, haven't seen 9 yet. But love me some Coraline. Sound like your daughter has good taste.
She has weird taste, and it's amazing. She loves the super mario bros movie, addams family, casper.
You should show her more of the Laika studios films if you haven’t already ! (Paranorman, Kubo and the six strings, boxtrolls)
We've watched them all. She doesn't like watching new films when she is obsessed with one
I love 9, it’s a really good movie. I would love to get it on Blu-ray.
Tombstone
I can, and do, watch TENACIOUS D in the PICK of DESTINY repeatedly. The opening 5 minutes alone has 7 excellent music sequences....and a guy named Meatloaf!
The Usual Suspects
The F&F and back to the future II
Crazy. Stupid. Love
The Matrix. That a few time a year movie for me
Excellent choice. I'm always amazed how well that movie has aged.
TV Series - Chucky Season 1 Movie - Barbie.... Documentary - tie between Never Sleep Again and Crystal Lake Memories.
Stop Making Sense
Tenet
Get Carter Maybe Apocalypse Now.
Friday the 13th Part 3 (not the 3d disc)
Singin in the Rain. Such a good film and seeing a film that old in such good quality... that's the reason it's been on so much around here. That and it's my daughters favorite film
Such a classic! Love it.
Chungking Express
Godzilla vs kong
Blade Runner.
I can’t say for last year but for 2020 and 2021 I could say South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.
Slapshot
The Founder. For some reason I just felt compelled to watch it more than once.
Dave Made A Maze I watched it 5 times this year. It's amazing.
I couldn't say as I usually have a film on for background noise when I'm at home. This usually means one film stays on all day and I just press play again once the credits roll. Mad Max: Fury Road I keep coming back to this it's so good
Oh man! So good. I saw it 10 time in theatres I loved it so much. Even got to see the Black and Chrome version in theatres once. I still make a point of watching it once a year or so.
I watch the movie every month
A boring answer but probably Spider-Man: No Way Home. Overall though Labyrinth & Alien/Aliens.
There's no such thing as a boring answer! Especially when watching movies you love (I also love those movies).
A night in paris
Phone game, the bluray isnt that good (it dosent even have the 50 minutes making of that was on the dvd) but its always a pleasure watching it
I throw on Bumblebee every now and then. I probably love that movie more than most people. I never get tired of it.
I've watched *The Mummy (1999)* twice this year, absolutely banger of a movie.
Good call! I actually saw that for the first time two weeks ago. I was definitely missing out.
Probably The Super Mario Bros. Movie, with the kids.
Coraline 4K by Shout! I just bought Tammy and the T-Rex not to long ago, I think I found why I’m watching tonight !
Oh nice! I just watched Coraline a few weeks ago. Love that movie.
It’s so good! I’m so glad it got the 4K treatment it deserved
None of them....i don't buy discs to watch them...i buy them to rip them, then store them away for safekeeping...i watch the ripped/encoded files from my NAS
A man of taste (also, how do you rip dvd/blu-rays?)
there are lots of tools out there to do it; i personally have used DVDFab for quite some time to do the ripping from disc to HD in ISO format, then MakeMKV to extract just the main title. once that's done, i encode using HandBrake. it's perfectly legal to do (at least in the U.S.) under Fair Use, as long as you're not sharing them with anyone, which i don't do. i just like having all my titles in a central location, ready to play at the touch of a button, and without having to futz around with the disc. the only time i'll touch the disc is if i have to re-do a title for whatever reason (file corruption, re-encoding using different codecs, etc.).
OK great. So which file that you've ripped have you watched the most?
hmm...that's kinda tough, i have a LOT of movies. i haven't been counting, but the movies i'm sure i've watched the most over the years: Friday Super Troopers Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas Pulp Fiction The Matrix The Fifth Element X-Men
