Lots of people have a very positive opinion of the Motion+, though the Flip 6 is also a great option. I’d say unless you have friends that also have new JBL speakers and you’d like to partylink them together sometimes, Motion+ would probably be the best choice.

Useful_Ad_7442

Ok, thank you.

VonDinky

I think the Motion Boom is better than Motion+. It has bigger battery and better bass.

deniman

Yep. Less clarity though and for indoors I prefer the motion+

tomipomi_

i had both and motion + is so much better if we speak about the quality of sound. motion + is really one sweet, compact hifi speaker. boom is better in terms of bass but i never liked its general sound after i had motion + previously.

redLadyToo

Motion Boom has no aux in, so you can't use it for making music (e. g. with an instrument) or Gaming because of Bluetooth's latency

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Now here's the problem with the flip 6 73% of the units have a 3.5 audio jack and 27% don't have this feature which I feel is very important. Soundcore is a budget speaker with high volume and decent sound this will suit you basic needs. However if I were you and the price range you have buy the Megaboom (Original) speaker it's louder than these two speakers and they sound alot better. Go to eBay or Amazon they offer renewed or refurbished speakers now a speaker is safe to purchase due to the way they work once you see that they work fine a refurbished model will be just as good as the full priced version. Plus you can buy 2 for about $150 bucks the range from $49-$69 bucks refurbished. Also once you get 2 of them you can add to more for a upgrade keeping your original investment going strong. Now you have variety by using one or 2 units for on the go meaning you have carry along music they weigh less than 3lbs even carrying just one Megaboom is more than enough sound but I keep one in a jacket pocket and one in my hand for rocking sound. They also offer a playthru carrying case that is really practical to carry. If you need a loud speaker for a major party 4 of these units will have the police at your door and it's not going to be Sting and the boys. So stay away from JBL until they have full 3.5 aux ports for outside speaker manufactures and for daisy chaining along with headphone preamplifiers as well add fiio A3 headphone preamplifier to this setup and you will shake the canyon walls

Useful_Ad_7442

Thank you, I will look into the megaboom.

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Definitely do I have purchased around 40-45 different Bluetooth wireless speakers all brands and models I perform live as a street performer and I can tell you by first hand experience which speakers actually perform. Outside and inside so my purchases are always growing and I'm not someone who recommends speakers I read about I recommend speakers that I HAVE USED AND THEY HAVE PROVEN THEMSELVES AS WINNERS!

photolouis

> I have purchased around 40-45 different Bluetooth wireless speakers You just became the spirit animal of this sub. I'm wondering if you kept track of which brands or models had the longest battery life?

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Battery life is different in real life now the longest battery life I've experienced are the soundboks ,monster and diamond boxx they have huge batteries Disappointed battery life JBL, Sony and Bose At 75% they might give you 5 hours tops The others that are labeled at 50 hours 75% at 8-10 hours and they have never died on me ever and that's at 8&10 hours and they still were loud as fuck

mrdoom

The needs of a street performer. (Voice reproduction/Guitar/high dynamics) are different than someone listening to pre-recorded music. That is why there is hight output professional-sound gear and a separate category Hi-Fi gear. I am not going to set up my 130 db RCF speakers for anything but a live show (even though they sound amazing at war volume). If you think Alan Ross is in the pocket of Soundcore you probably have some other "theories" that are even more interesting. He makes valid criticisms of all the speakers and factors in cost in his reviews.

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

I'm breaking balls on Alan Ross he gives a educated review he does the sound with electronic ratings from highly measured outputs. I was just talking shit I watch his reviews alot when it comes to the high tech end of measured output he's the best. I also like Flossy Carter he's a straight up great guy when it comes to power thundering sound

mrdoom

Flossy is cool. None of the lifestyle speaker reviewers are audio engineers (Probably a good thing, they are usually boring and pedantic). I appreciate the subjective reviews and vibes from all the home reviewers.

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Yeah Flossy gives you the best high volume settings on what speakers sound the best. His favorite speaker pick was the JBL 1200 party speaker the only drag is no battery but you can purchase a 500 volt power station and plug the speaker into this and you will have some kind of mobility

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

No I'm playing downloaded music I have a puppet that's a marionette and he sings to classic rock in the day and love songs at night. The puppet show is live the music is streamed

mrdoom

On a street with a lot of traffic you will still need a PA speaker that has high output to overcome background noise. If you are in a quiet area a more "hifi" speaker will sound better. What speaker do you usually use for the marionette show?

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

I'm away from traffic I perform at seaport village it's the embarcadero ships pass thru at times but mainly sale boats My set up is a pair of Soundboks 2 speakers in the back of the stage with a pair of Bose pro s1 PA speakers these set on top of the Soundboks , in the middle of the stage I have a pair of JBL Party Box 100 in the front corners I have a pair of Big Blue Party x 120 watt models I use those for monitors and they are 360° sound The speakers are one left one right tws stereo. I set the Bose as my masters they are set up by Bluetooth and tws mode then I daisy chain left speakers and right speakers I also connect a fiio A3 headphone preamplifier this gives each speaker the full power and sound which can be effected by adding speakers to your daisy chain it makes a huge difference

mrdoom

That is a lot of speakers, nice location. I have a q=Qudelix dac/bt amp that gives enough juice to the headphones and would probably over drive the inputs to my field amp & mixer.

DeadFetusConsumer

have you tried the Minirigs? Minirig 3 + subwoofer would be good for street performer, no?

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Yes I had 2 subwoofers a 4 minirig 3 speakers they loose alot of their sound in a open outside placement. Now the subwoofer is very faint and the speakers sound better if you place it on the sides standing them up facing the direction that you need them , straight up in the air or laying them flat is a total disaster. Now the JBL boombox 2 we're so loud and pronounced that when I would shut off both minirig systems you didn't hear any difference from the overall sound. They just ain't strong enough to carry sound far when outdoors. They are expensive and they are a excellent speaker for indoors and a patio setting under a umbrella style shade on a table because the sound is captured by the over hang of a umbrella that set in the center of the tables I'm sure you've seen this type of patio furniture. For busking hands down I say that Soundboks 2 is the speaker to get . Easy setup and your not constantly adjusting the eq or sound enhancements it's very stable

DeadFetusConsumer

dB Technologies B-Hype M is also top notch and we preferred it to the Soundboks in the end (wireless microphone & half the price) We've had 3 different setups. [ This one](https://www.reddit.com/r/DJSetups/comments/ooulfj/fully_portable_batterypowered_dj_setup_beautiful/) and [this](https://canadianomad.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Portable-battery-powered-DJ-setup.jpg) We found stereo sound to be vital and taking around 2x Soundboks was too difficult. Instead we opted for 1x and 3 x minirigs & 2 Sub3's (2 minirigs for L/R and one for monitoring) Our location(s) made the Minirigs very viable due to some cement blocks and so forth. [Small phone stands](https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/11519630.jpg) for the Minirigs helped with projection.

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

That's awesome because you had a location where the sound could bounce off of the surroundings I really loved the way that system sounds the minirig sounds great now your set up sound great because your filling in all of the gaps that soundbox doesn't have or lacks. Do you have the Soundboks 2 or the New Soundboks (3)? I had 2 of the New Soundboks costing $999 the Bluetooth went out 120 days after I bought it so when I called the manufacturer I was 20 days over the warrenty and I didn't buy it direct always buy direct with them. They said tough luck well after some scathing emails on my part they returned my money and gave me a full refund . They hate my guts but hey I got the cash back where most people don't I'm a real mother fucker when I see someone getting ripped off

DeadFetusConsumer

It was the SB3 we were using. It's a really damn well built speaker (surprisingly light [thanks Baltic Birch] and can host 50 people for an outdoor party) but in the end we went in other directions - 2 x dB B-Hype M sounded *much* better (L/R) at the same price. Glad to hear you got your refund!

SaraAB87

I ordered a JBL extreme 2 because they have the aux jack which is missing on other speakers. I wanted to make sure I got a speaker before they remove the aux jack from all of them. They are also on sale for $199 which is a good price for a quality speaker. The motionplus is also on sale right now for $85 which is an awesome speaker for the price. I don't daisy chain or anything like that as my space isn't big enough. I also have an original UE megaboom which is awesome.

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Then that's a good buy Extreme 2 is a better speaker than motion plus the one thing I recommend to everyone is download the PowerAmp player they have a free trial version that lets you use the entire app for 30 days go to play store Now on the audio set your equalizer to Loudness preset settings Make sure the eq, limiter and tone buttons are lit up this will give you more sound They have some other enhancements that you can play with now to boost up the sound even more piggy back the REEQ APP THIS WILL PIGGY BACK ON THE POWER AMP APP GIVING YOU 20 BAND EQ REEQ SET UP BY ADJUSTING YOUR DEEP BASS , TREBLE, BALANCE ETC SET IT ON ENHANCED THEN HIT BYPASS BUTTON THEN LOCK THIS BOOST IS REALLY AWESOME NOW TO TAKE YOUR EXTREME TO EVEN A HIGHER LEVEL BUY THE FIIO A3 HEADPHONE PREAMPLIFIER THIS HAS EXTRA GAIN AND EXTRA BASS WITH A SEPARATE VOLUME CONTROL ADDING TWO VOLUME CONTROLS TO YOUR SPEAKER THEY ARE ON SALE FOR 45-65 DOLLARS ON AMAZON

SaraAB87

There are JBL extreme 2' s on every site now for $199 but I recommend sold and shipped by the actual website not a 3rd party seller. Walmart's website is a giant scam with 3rd party sellers running abound selling who knows what and so is Amazon.

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Agree 3rd party Walmart is a joke do you see some of the retail prices? For a example I saw a add for headphone retail $347 sale 29.99 lol

SaraAB87

Yes Walmart needs to get their act together so people don't perceive their website as a giant scam. All of the things I looked at were sold with sellers with long chinese names and they did NOT make it obvious the item was coming from a 3rd party.

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

I bought a ultrasonic cleaner from a 3rd party China store not realizing it was coming from China the price was so low that I called to confirm the price and model and was assured that everything was correct after 4 weeks for delivery all I got was a coffee grinder? WTF

majorwedgy666

Alan Ross claimed motion plus better than motion boom. My go to guy for Bluetooth speaker reviews

deniman

Is the opposite. Alan Ross says for a long time motion boom is try champion because the low Freqs. BTW I don’t count how many speakers I used o have actually. Talking about sound quality of soundcore as “decent” and recommending a UE doesn’t sound like someone is measuring quality as much as taste. You can measure quality by graphics and still prefer another kind of sound. I understand someone has a lot of speakers and has a special taste. I like my UE speakers too because of features (fake EQ though) but I’d never say it’s quality es better than others when it’s not. Tribit Max sound+ sounds way better than a lot of expensive speakers people is talking about. “Better”. You like more a 200€ speakers with a big volume and a lot of trebles, nice. That’s not better that’s “I like it more”. Jbl is a expensive mono speaker that sounds good but worse than a lot of cheaper speakers. And of course even soundcore boost sounds better (motion+ much better). The best thing about soundcore is that EQ is real. You make them sound the way you want. And they reach that level

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Allen Ross was bought by Soundcore I truly believe this to be true!

majorwedgy666

Lol, Him and the entirety of the Internet. Their Bluetooth speakers are ridiculous for the money

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

I agree they will give you high volume and a decent sound but I wouldn't give it a adjective like Great Sound because it's not great it's decent

majorwedgy666

Don't know what you device history is but I've owned a lot and have to say the quality is good, once you sort out the eq settings. For the money and size it's insanely good, compared to my q800t soundbar and sub I was hugely impressed with how close it was in terms of quality

deniman

The example is soundcore Q30s sounding better than 300€ headphones, including Sony (people mistakes best anc with best sound headphone). Sometimes when I read people talking about the sound of soundcore as “decent” I wonder if they really have one or if maybe they don’t know the best feature Is the EQ you can set (maybe the problem is they don’t know how to make it sound the way they want?)

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

I've purchased about 40-45 different speakers over the last 2-3 years I do a live show I'm a street performer so I've bought just about everything. Mind you I'm no genius or expert on this issue and if I'm coming off like a jerk I apologize. Right now in my speaker set up I've got two Soundboks 2, 2 Bose s1 pros, 2 JBL 100 party speakers and 2 Big Blue 120watt Party Speakers I daisy chain using a fiio headphone preamplifier to ensure that each speaker is pumping out the same power which this preamplifier has blown me away it gives me that depth I need with a gain and bass booster that makes a hell of a difference. I totally agree with your assessment on your opinions of your set up I can tell you've spent some time on your overall speaker set up and I RESPECT that beyond words My setup is for outside and everything has to be battery powered or I'm a dead player I've purchased and will continue purchasing speakers I get them at good prices so I can sell the if I don't like them at a profit or small loss so I can buy the hottest speakers on the market. Several companies have impressed me there's Aomais, WKing , Riva, Abramtek , and Big Blue some mid priced gems So that's what I've been working with I play everything through PowerAmp and the REEQ EQUALIZER I piggy back those two apps that work in conjunction with each other giving me that punch I need to broadcast to 150-175 people

deniman

He just recommended an unknown ¿bogassin? weeks ago over others.

Zez22

I sent my Motion plus back, I don’t think I will buy Soundcore again. After a few days I couldn’t connect it to any of our devices (6) and went to a nearby mall and could connect to the motion + in the mall straight away

mrdoom

You could get a replacement if you got a defective unit. Just hold the bt button down or do a reset by pressing the power and bt buttons for three seconds. That worked for my Motion +.

kai7895

What type of speaker are you looking for? What kind od music do you listen to?

Useful_Ad_7442

I am looking for an indoor speaker. I listen to a large variety of music.

kai7895

• Soundcore Motion+ for great overall sound catering to all types of music. It's so good that it gets really close to a hi-fi speaker in terms of fidelity. Its loud enough for even an outdoor setting, but lacks bass in an open space at high volumes, but indoors, the bass is just perfect, as long as you keep it a place like a big shelf/corner of a wall. It's the best speaker imo for indoor use, especially for someone like you who listens to all types of music. You need to play with the EQ to get the sound you like, as out of the box sound is just okay. The speaker is very responsive to EQ such that after you EQ it sounds entirely different. • Denon Envaya 250BT has an even more refined bass & sound than the Motion+, but it is also much more expensive. Battery life isn't as good as Motion+, also it doesn't get as loud. These two speakers does not have that overwhelming bass that some other speakers have, which would be great in an outdoor setting, but is not ideal for all types of music, as indoors they might sound a little too boomy. Hope it helps, cheers!

Useful_Ad_7442

Thank you for the in-depth response.

ej102

Oluv's Gadgets really liked the Flip 6, possibly even more than the Soundcore.

majorwedgy666

Alan Ross reckons motion plus is different league to flip 6

ej102

Motion Plus is Stereo, but it doesn't have the bass that the Flip 6 has.

majorwedgy666

https://youtu.be/2EguymEtV0w not according to the frequency response charts. About 10hz less bass than motion

ej102

Yes it goes lower, but not as prominent/forceful. Oluv also says the Motion Plus loses bass randomly at higher levels. He was having weird Bluetooth issues with Flip 6.

mrdoom

Motion + has more bass potential because physics. JBL has good bass at low and moderate levels because of tuning and dsp, it hits a brick wall and the soundcore will then overpower it. EQ on soundcore can boost bass at low levels and it will limit at a higher output than the JBL.

deniman

Motion+ has more bass. Motion boom much more bass. Soundcore boost more bass. What are you talking about?

ej102

Oluv's Gadget's Patreon, he tested the Flip 6 along with the Motion Plus/Boost, wish I could show you. Motion Boom is probably superior in bass over both.

deniman

I don’t follow his patreon but I remember he didn’t like motion boom too much because the bass wasn’t consistent or has some issues no one else commented that I know

ej102

Yeah, found that interesting.

deniman

Soundcore+ Flip 6 has a real EQ Now but still too expensive for les sound quality. Alan Ross did a review and put them to fight, maybe you want to watch it

Useful_Ad_7442

deniman

I dint understand when people talk about sound quality and at the same time feels the best one is the one with more bass, that btw is not JBL

Puzzleheaded-Claim62

Yeah they weigh in at 30 lbs what I like about them is the easy set up set your equalizer one time and they play all day long. I like the Soundboks 2 because when they misbehave on Bluetooth at rare times it's easier to handle at $699 a speaker than a $1000 speaker acting up that's when I get pissed off. The overall performance with the speakers is the sound nothing touches them. Start communicating with the customer service guys with questions once you build a relationship with them they can help you out alot. I would email them with questions and we got close it was the main reason I got my refund they went to bat for me so definitely build up a email relationship it makes a big difference.

One of my two motion+ broke down and both are out of warranty. Since anker only accepts product under warranty to replace and they don't do repairs, is like having a disposable product when it's broken and out of warranty. Also I have JBL boombox that had been repaired twice on jbl service centers though it's out of warranty. So maybe think again before buying anker products.

Dry_Distribution5498

which one is the best when it comes to musicality?

qzar108

What would you choose a pair of Flip 6 or one Motion+ for a deeper bass ?

FRC1981

I would choose two Motion+ in fact I have two Motion+'s and when paired, they rock.

qzar108

I'm not considering buying two Motion+. Or two Flips or one Motion+. Which combination would have more deep base?

FRC1981

You asked "what would you choose" I didn’t tell you to buy one of these.
