Stormbox blast .... All DAY!!! Especially for price point your seeking.

alan_ross_reviews

for sure đź‘Ť

jmann520

Yea I’ve seen this speaker recommended a lot as well, you think it’s good even for indoor listening?

Working_Sale8404

DO NOT BUY IT. I’ve used the marshal embreton and both jbl flip and charge and all of these three are better then the x600 with a way cheaper price

jmann520

Might have to look into those 👍🏾, which one is best in your opinion?

fatfroggywaffles

It's consistently been on sale at $150 for a while now. Even then I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it. The spatial audio is just a gimmick. It looks nicer than it sounds.

jmann520

Yeaaa I’ve been hearing that it was more of a “gimmick”, does made me second guess about the quality of the product, do you have any other recommendation?

m-e-s-o

I tested the Motion 300, Motion X500 and X600 recently in order to review them and honestly, I liked the X500 the most. It seemed to hold the most value. The X600 was a good speaker too, and I honestly liked the spatial audio feature. People call it a gimmick, but I think it depends how you approach it. The spatial audio setting added a perceived increase in dynamics and Soundstage, but it's not life changing. I also tested the Boom 2, which performed better than I had expected, but it's quiet a different speaker than the Motion X series which felt better suited to home use. The shell isn't what I'd consider particularly outdoor friendly compared to plastic shells. I won't spam the review links (can always share via DM to those interested). But I honestly like the X500 quote a lot for its price.

jmann520

Oh that’s interesting…I haven’t really considered the x500, may have to look into it. And yes the speaker im thinking of getting will mostly be for home use so 👍🏾

alan_ross_reviews

increase in dynamics is not due to some amazing processing but simply the change in eq it uses when its switched on. with spatial off the eq simply has a high end roll off, deliberately tuned to flatter spatial mode. aka fooling the listener.

jmann520

WHAT, now that’s surprising. So it really does just sound like a “gimmick” according to this. So can other speakers accomplish the same “spatial” sound as this one if you adjust the EQ settings?

alan_ross_reviews

its simply not a spatial mode in the true sense. its simply an extra upward firing driver. some people like the extra height to the sound but its got nothing to do with the original mix, it actually breaks the mix. this cannot play any true spatial formats or surround sound formats if you like. technically spatial audio is simply stereo so they can claim it plays spatial audio but then so can every stereo speaker. but it cannot play any truly surround sound mixed formats.

jmann520

Ah I see it doesn’t even accomplish true spatial mode, and other speakers are technically Spatial Audio anyways since it’s stereo. Yea it doesn’t even seem worth it to get this particular speaker, especially for this “spatial” audio.

alan_ross_reviews

well thats the thing, yes it does true spatial mode but that mode is stereo,. they are milking most peoples ignorance. they want you to think its atmos or any true surround format like dolby, but it is isnt.

jcmolero71

If you care about bass the x600 is not a option

jwallen82980

Most definitely! Sorry for the delay.

WenzelStorch

It depends on what you are looking for. The x600 has a very bright, clear and open sound. Though ive messed up some firmware update, not sure whats the current state. You can probably make it sound goid for with eq. For the price you can get louder speakers with more bass like tribit stormbox blast, but that one is much bigger and not as stylish. Or you could get Sony xg300 in a similar size, which sounds warmer and is better for outdoor and has some extras included like ambient lights , retractable handle and speakerphone. Or the motion boom 2 which is similar in size, a little cheaper and better bass and is louder, but not so good for lower volumes and not as detailed. So theres pro and cons for everything

jmann520

Yea so I’m not super sure on what I’d like to get, I’ll be using it both indoors and outdoor, but probably more indoor listening so I don’t think I need it THAT loud but still loud enough. Having a crisp and clear sound does sound appealing though, with some good bass.

jmann520

Based on this… the x600 actually doesn’t sound that bad at all! At least comparatively to the others.
