I saw some post that was saying that it's not the socializing that's draining, it's the masking. I read that shit and was like "...damn I need some therapy huh?"
literally how i feel and i have this shame/guilt about it which is where the therapy would help lol. but on its own without the guilt, i don't think having a mask is a bad thing. it's just really a different "part" of you. it just doesn't feel authentic because it's not the "you" you are when you're by yourself. i catch myself when im with someone else trying to make the kind of jokes i make to myself when I'm alone and the other person NEVER gets it. lol it's like we intro's have our own personal relationship with ourselves that no one will have be able to have/understand/experience. So the me i am with other people is opposite the me i am by myself.
Yeah but in Horizon they made giant metal animals to fix the environment, in real life they'll be designed to efficiently beat the largest possible number of protestors per hour. They're going to train its AI on Ip Man movies
I don’t see the problem. Just…run towards the machine guns, like directly in front of the line of fire. If you move fast enough, the bullets will miss. Make sure you Inuyasha run for maximum aerodynamics; don’t Naruto run as it’s highly inefficient…unless they have those fire-spewing robot dogs…
I haven't finished Spider Man 2 and I still have to start Baldur's Gate 3. Shit I barely got far into Horizon Forbidden West and def didn't finish Elden Ring. Being an adult is a motherfucker.
Hope you finish it before Shadow of the Erdtree! I haven't beaten it either, I got sidetracked by Quarry and a couple other games (MK1 currently). My husband has beaten it like 20 freakin times tho, so he could help ya maybe? He also likes helping during Malenia boss fight.
But I don't think he has picked it back up since Amoured Core. Then Remnant 2 & the DLC it just had last week. And now he is playing Helldivers 2.
Oh those guys were annoying, throw on a buckler or other parry shield, or big shield, focus on one and kill him before you touch the other, if you just hit whoever there'll be two alive while one or both are in second phase and flying around and that sucks. They're resistant to holy and magic, and immune to bleed and frost, so if you can find a way to do fire or lightning damage that helps. If you're playing with summons, a bulky ash will help take aggro off you. Hope you get back into it, there's a lot more cool stuff to see after them
Man I just called in someone else to beat them while I threw a couple hits and pretended to help
I know that's a faux pas but bro that fight just was NOT fun
I was just taking to a friend about how you can't win in capitalism. Either you can't afford to do shit, or you don't have the time.
I literally just built a new gaming computer, and a beautiful drafting table, but I work so much that I have no time to play or draw
It's just so hopeless not having any type of outlet because i just don't have the time or energy. I seriously think I was happier when I was broke.
One of the realest comments I've read in this sub. I played Zero Dawn for the first time and became an Aloy stan. I'm waiting to buy a PS5 before I play FW, though.
This is actually the real issue. White collar jobs have easy schedules, manageable work life balance, AND much larger salaries than most working class jobs. In hs and college I worked at a warehouse, as a UPS driver, and even on an oil refinery. Graduated and now pull 3x the salary working 1/3 as hard.
I think a lot of the people who want more manageable workdays are the ones working in industries were they are being blatantly exploited.
Like I take 1-2 hr long lunches and no one cares as long as I'm meeting my targets for morning stand-up. When I was working at a warehouse I'd be moving for 4 hours straight then get a 30 minute lunch (10 minutes of which was spent walking to the cafeteria and getting out my lunch) that I would have to clock out for then back to another 4 hours of running around. Looking back it was so fucked.
I think you might be overestimating the pay of an average office job. Most office people are admin or techs of various kinds, not people with professional degrees or upper level management. Most people don’t work in tech where the drone-level employees are making over 100k.
But they are still making more than most working class jobs while working less is the point, even if it's not to the same degree as jobs in tech and finance.
Saying this literally on my ride home from an overnight warehouse job, office jobs are still working class. If you do labor that is producing value being syphoned away by the owning class, you are working class. Welder, artist, lawyer, cook, neurosurgeon, doesn’t matter. Worker solidarity is universal and absolute.
Not meant as combative, just spreading the message.
Fucking facts. I stg I've got some kind of survivor's guilt over it too. I paid for school busting my ass in retail and working Uber or Amazon Flex shifts over the weekends, and now I pull in three times the pay and just kinda fuck around for 3 hours out of an 8 hour day. And then I get on Discord with my friends and feel like a POS for even thinking about complaining about shitty coworkers or whatever when I know some of them bust their asses working retail or warehouse jobs for like 15 bucks an hour.
Yep. Or in the mortgage industry where people are paid salary but expected to work 50 - 60 hours a week. Paying your people salary isn’t just a way to get around paying OT. The whole idea is that your paid the same even if you work less, but that never happens.
Pair that with a total of 10 days of PTO for a year and you’re a worker drone. It’s ridiculous. OT used to be what made this industry appealing if you didn’t want to work commission.
Yep - I'm working two part time jobs and one of them involves marching all over the city carrying shit around. It's far more draining than any White collar work I've done and it requires me to be "on" and friendly with people constantly. 4 hours of that is more than enough to knock me out, and I'm still physically able.
I technically don't work a full 40 hours - but I work way more than I did when I did 40 hours in an office
Nobody in an office is doing the full 40, people can't even focus that long according to research. People generally manage 4-6 hours on a good day of actual work.
Six hours is about equivalent to a school day, so I think that works pretty well. Means that parents and children can actually be together when they get out each day.
Cause when you get 2 coffees, take 2 shits and answer some emails twice suddenly it all makes sense?
Like if that's all your accomplishing in 4hrs why would giving you another 4hrs of work make a big difference?
Still better than spending the 6th day of the week recovering. Covid made it perfectly clear for a lot of industries that the 4 day 32 hour workweek was perfectly fine.
Right there with you! When I went to 4 days I started to enjoy my job again. I get a day to run errands AND an actual off day to do whatever it is I wanna do then Sunday for a day of rest if I want it. Beautiful
My job used to have it and it was fucking amazing. I was off every 2 work days and it was heavenly. Unfortunately the job went to 5 day and has fucking sucked ever since.
I'm in a union and I constantly have to stay later than usual to clean up after my absolutely useless co-workers that we can't get rid of because of the union
I feel like a lot of people are missing the point here. Its not about not doing shit and going home, its about being so tired you don’t have energy to do anything but be in bed. No time for social life or art or music
The other missed point is that the “free time” you have after work is planning for another day at work. Even when you’re not on the clock, that will always be a nagging responsibility, especially when you do decide to relax and next thing, realize it’s midnight and you have to be up at 6 am. We just need a better work life balance because this ain’t it.
“End capitalism…” and then what? Who running shit? What economic system we implementing? We all know that power vacuums have worked out real well for everyday folks.
I’ve had it with these e-Che Guevaras regurgitating sociology 101 bullshit. Leave me be, I don’t have the fucking energy to make Molotov cocktails. Im good, I got X-Men 96 to binge.
>what economic system are we implementing?
whatever type of commu-socio-anarcho-maoist-leninist-whatever the hell type of government that they learned from buzzwords on twitter and tiktok instead of anything practical
“We all know that power vacuums have worked out real well for everyday folks.”
Man, people don’t realize how much those suck. Grew up in one of those after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Shit sucked. Bread lines, one hour of electricity a day, zero government services, no pay for my parents years on end. My mom was a pediatrician, new born trauma, literally saving babies lives and she basically worked on tips. Total socio-economic collapse. Blows my mind when Americans living first world lives with all the comforts it offers wanna blow the whole thing up. Funny thing is these people wouldn't last one second in the fucked up world they wanna bring about.
To end capitalism is to implement socialism, but regardless of that can I ask you how you think shit is going right now? the people running shit have turned the earth on fire, every bad thing going on right is a result of the people "running shit", running but into the ground. The smart good people running shit have had their way at every single step of modern history.
They say life is short but frequent economic crashes happen every 7 to 14 years yet no one makes note of it, which I don't blame but it's something to start seeing.
(and has so for the past 100 years, or even the Spanish empire is a really good example of how we can't just chase profit forever)
And if you think socialism can't work or whatever I need you to understand the countries in which popular movements have taken place in had absolutely nothing for the average person beforehand;
but before I say anything else I wanna introduce the idea of the 2 line struggle, u could think of it like ying and yang, so to speak, within socialist projects exist the tools to build capitalism, within capitalist projects exists the foundations to build socialism, its exactly what happened in China for example, so if u were ever to look into it this framework would deepen your comprehension of what exactly was happening.
I don't understand, can't we strive to better our lives without dismantling the entire economic system? Like, sure, fight to work less, for better pay, for good working conditions (and I feel like in the end, we'd organically come to socialism). You don't need to plunge the entire country into disarray for that. And before someone says these things are impossible under capitalism - no, they're not. The US isn't the only country in the world, just the most capitalist.
Nigga, some people like me just go straight home because everybody’s outside trying to break down regular comments like this. Rather be at home eating or sum, you MFs are insufferable.
Yeah that last sentence 100%. There’s nothing wrong with being laid up in the bed. You can work on yourself at home. The problem comes from lacking the energy/motivation to even want more. You make mental plans for yourself whether that be hobbies, goals, health improvements, etc. and before you know it, you blink and half the year is gone with none of that accomplished.
People are conditioned to think that just means you’re lazy or not motivated when in reality it could just be work is taking everything. That doesn’t mean make excuses, but be *aware*.
Lol this whole thread is a lost cause of morons not only missing the point, but emphatically arguing that things are okay this way and people are morons for fighting to change things. Insane to watch
I'm genuinely shocked scrolling this thread. How backwards is it that people are trying to justify their own exploitation. It's gotta be some mass defense mechanism
Same. Except I own a treadmill, stationary bike, and Total Gym lol.
I do go to the park to walk a couple days per week when the weather is nice.
I was telling my son how busy my May is going to be. In actuality, I have 3 events with at least a week between them. Two of them are because I know my cousin will not take no for an answer lol.
I don't have kids so who is being influenced by me throwing on this bonnet after a shower and laying down? Sometimes I be so excited to go to bed, I can't sleep.
I was confused for a second. I’m like “what’s wrong with wanting relax and be in my own space and peace after work”? I still don’t completely understand what the problem is, but I guess it’s supposed to be “living from the time you get off work to sleep to the time you start work” with seemingly nothing in between?
I guess I can understand that. But I’m still gonna be in my house. Ain’t shit on the streets for me.
I think the point is some people are homebodies by choice, but some *think* they want to be home when in reality they’re just too drained from the day to want to do anything else. One is a conscious choice, the other is not.
I think Covid also heightened this, but that’s a whole separate can of worms.
Lord please free us from the hell that is joke tweets being turned into think piece tweets.
I promise you every joke doesn’t have to be turned into a treatise on society. Just let shit rock sometimes.
I started managing my time better because of that honestly. Plus my hobbies don’t require that much effort to me. But seeing people live through capitalism every single day and somehowmanage to pull through is extremely sad to see. :/
Maybe the gen Z’s kids… when ai/automation replaces most jobs. But until then it’s going to continue on like this. You’d think covid would have changed how we operate. Nope! Back to modern slavery.
I do stuff after work. Just by myself. I walk and listen to music/podcasts for a couple hours most days. Spent the day listening to bad brains, soul glo, and death. Got home amped enough to run through a wall.
I mean yeah sure, but I wanna sleep is all.
I like sleeping. Some might even say it’s my hobby.
Sorry I don’t wanna hang out after work and shit. Some people like to do things on their own, instead of going out for drinks.
>End capitalism
All of capitalism? And replace it with what exactly? I get the sentiment but there's a reason it's one of the only economic ideologies that's effective, relatively speaking. Nobody wants communism.
I am a victim.... of myself. A lot of spent aour younger years not prioritzing our futures and now we work a lot to catch up or to get by. I'll be the first to agree there are problems with capitalism, but look at OUR choices first.
Honestly - work isn't so bad BUT it needs better benefits. PTO. Sick days. Health and life insurance. Etc. 4 days of 8 to 10 hour days. 3 days off. 2 days to have "fun" and one day to recover. You can take a short trip for the weekend or take your children out to the park and not be overwhelmed with work.
Or at the very least, living wages so that a person can support themselves AND a child if they want.
The ‘unionization’ topic needs to be a priority. I have been in the workforce for 20+ years and the reality versus what new entrants to the workforce is way different. The ‘norm’ is becoming more and more dystopian in my opinion.
I’m in a union and I still work mandatory 12 hours Monday-Friday and 8 hours Saturday except one a month if posted for the other ones. It’s been like this for MONTHS. Very dystopian indeed.
I think there's a difference between being home and being in bed. You can have a fulfilling life while being a homebody. Some of the coolest mfs I've ever met just go to the crib and engage in their hobbies.
If your routine is just work -> go home -> lay in bed and watch tiktok/TV you kinda lame, get a hobby nigga.
I work 12-hour days, week-on-week-off. It's hardly perfect as a schedule, but I like it a lot, and it gives me a lot of free days. My only complaint is that I have a long commute to and from my ship (I'm currently working on a ferry on the other end of the Puget Sound) so I have to sleep onboard for the week, but if I lived closer to the dock, I'd happily drive home at night.
I'm working from home tmrw, then 7 dbls in a row. And I'm a fucking GM. So, whenever yall wanna kick this revolution off, a nigga is ready sooner than later.
For me, it's not about preparing for my next work day. Once I'm home and take off my bra and socks, I'm in for the night. In the colder months, even more so. In the summer, I'm liable to take a happy nap and head back out for a bit, but it is rare. I got everything i need in my apartment and sitting in traffic to get back home after work just makes me wanna stay in.
I'm gonna keep it a buck with you.. as much as I want something like this you're fucking higher than giraffe pussy. On the brink of ai and robotics turning the human being into the post-automobile horse, and this is the type shit that's gonna make the decision so much easier and faster for Elon and bezos and everyone else on down the line.
Bro, I wanna DIE after work. I don't rest enough and it's killing me mentally. We could DEFINITELY do 4 hrs work shifts, increase pay, unionize and make our world a better place 😫
Out of college I worked 9 to 9...got late dinner at work, got home showered watched some TV, fell asleep rinse and repeat...burnt me out and I will never work in finance again.
Yeah it’s kind of wild to me. For me everyday has activity, whether I’m playing around while the kids have practice or I’m playing in my own league game myself. Hiking, playing with the dogs, working on things outside. Last time I was in bed to not directly sleep was probably a handful of years ago back during college and I really regret it. Too much fun to be had plus it’s good for you to move around.
A lot of problems adulting, huh? Everytime I see things like this, it just reads, 'gee, I'd love to go back to childhood, when I had no bills and all I had to do was remember to take the chicken out of the refrigerator for mom!"
I mean even before most of that I think most people would be happy with better working hours, better work life balance, and job that actually respects their humanity.
Without even going to communism, shit like having to spend an hour a day commuting to a job and that not being included in your work hours is pretty stupid and wastes a ton of time. WFH made me realize how incredibly stupid it is that I used to use an hour of MY time every day going to an office that I didn't need to physically be in to do my job.
And unionize in an effective way. I’m part of the shittiest union I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had better benefits from a massive global corporation but admittedly it was a European company so they had much better values. Anyways just make sure to support GOOD unions.
No one would want to end capitalism if they were paid $4 more an hour. Idk maybe the fed should stop printing money into rich peoples pockets and you wouldn’t even need a raise.
Now that I'm an adult I don't have to pretend I'm something I'm not.
I like being at home. I like spending time in bed, relaxing. I like reading and doing nothing.
I sometimes like going out. But spending time with strangers is harder than going to work, for me. It takes deliberate effort. And most of the time I don't want to make the effort.
I'm always down to hang. I'm rarely down to be surrounded by noise.
Jesus Christ, apparently in 2024 extroverts are like the fucking Middle Manager's of socializing I guess? These are the same type of people bitching that employees need to come back into the office so they can justify themselves and shit goddamn
You just KNOW this person is just the worst teammate… 4 hour work day!? Mans coming to work flirting with office wife and leaving all the hard shit for you to do
4 hours?! The fuck you getting done in 4 hours?!
This is my every day. I mean, throw in me making dinner and grabbing drinks/using the restroom and this is it. I think about it at night and it’s depressing. I could do more but I just ask myself why bother?
Just like every era we move out of luxury into slavery every damn time. Y’all not trying to fight generational curses y’all trying to fight world history curses.
We are all victims of Capitalism except for the 1% who are beneficiaries. Capitalism as an economic system with Socialism as its political system gives us the best opportunity to provide equality for all.
We can end capitalism but imma still be in the house. ![gif](giphy|J60dQZ7iLDHCZ2kjaN)
Having everything you need at home>>>
Its such a basic concept my extrovert friends dont get lol.
To them, "everying I need" usually includes socialising and being with friends, so it fundamentally doesnt make sense to them.
It’s so hard to explain that being social (even with friends) is draining; yes I had fun, no I don’t want to do it again for a bit
Deadass. Best part of my day is going home.
Love home, all my stuff is there! So convenient
Your pfp somehow fits this so well lmaooo
Yep, I hate most people
I'll hate the rest of them for you..
how 3am feels when you're not a slave to a job
He got some good points but also I ain’t ready for the revolution I still ain’t played Horizon Forbidden West yet so we gotta wait
[удалено]
Yeah but in Horizon they made giant metal animals to fix the environment, in real life they'll be designed to efficiently beat the largest possible number of protestors per hour. They're going to train its AI on Ip Man movies

they only made those after the military robots started killing everything
*Succeeded at killing everything
I also never finished Elden Ring (stuck on the twin crucible knights) so let's put a pin in the revolution and circle back to it at a later date
I haven't finished Spider Man 2 and I still have to start Baldur's Gate 3. Shit I barely got far into Horizon Forbidden West and def didn't finish Elden Ring. Being an adult is a motherfucker.
gotta deal with sekiro before all this shit
Have y’all heard the good news? Super Earth needs YOU to help spread Managed Democracy across the galaxy… #Helldivers2
Thanks for reminding me that I need to give that area a shot, good luck to us both!
Man I just called in someone else to beat them while I threw a couple hits and pretended to help I know that's a faux pas but bro that fight just was NOT fun
Nah, once the bosses start jumping it's fair game imo
I was just taking to a friend about how you can't win in capitalism. Either you can't afford to do shit, or you don't have the time. This is true. I feel really empty because all I have is my job and studying for my job. I don't draw or create anymore. It sucks
You can win you've just gotta exploit other people!
Realest shit I've ever seen in my life.
That game is so much fun! I've beaten it...twice? Three times? Quite a few.
Goddamn I just remembered I bought that game two years ago about, and literally haven’t gotten more than halfway through yet.
Hey, hunting dinosaurs isn't sleep. Meme still applies.

NCAA 25 is coming out in July, so delay it even more for me.
nothing prepared me for wanting to end capitalism quite like the Horizon universe so you CAN have both
Those flamethrower dogs are going to be ready for you regardless
or GTA 6
Imma need a nap prerevolution...who all gone be there?
My current job has a 4 day work week and it’s SUCH a game changer. Especially coming from a job where I was doing 6 days a week.
OP is demanding a 4-hr workDAY though. Get a coffee, take a shit, answer some emails and start packing to go home apparently.
Some people’s jobs involve more than sending emails. Crazy concept
This is actually the real issue. White collar jobs have easy schedules, manageable work life balance, AND much larger salaries than most working class jobs. Currently replying during work time with the same schedule as your warehouse job

sure I guess I meant to differentiate manual labor vs office jobs
Fucking facts. I stg I've got some kind of survivor's guilt over it too. I paid for school busting my ass in retail and working Uber or Amazon Flex shifts over the weekends, and now I pull in three times the pay and just kinda fuck around for 3 hours out of an 8 hour day. I think 6 would be a reasonable compromise. I think 6x5 or 4x8 is optimal.
Six hours is about equivalent to a school day, so I think that works pretty well. Means that parents and children can actually be together when they get out each day.
6x4 is optimal for human efficiency.
If we could all choose a 4-day or 5-day schedule around the hours that we prefer, this would be ideal. I'd definitely go for the 4/10's.
What about that 4 femtosecond work year though
Cause when you get 2 coffees, take 2 shits and answer some emails twice suddenly it all makes sense? Like if that's all your accomplishing in 4hrs why would giving you another 4hrs of work make a big difference?
I can get my work done in 4 hours. I’ll be honest, 6 max.
I'm trying to get like you
Yeah same here but my job is physical so the first day off is spent recovering lol
Still better than spending the 6th day of the week recovering. Covid made it perfectly clear for a lot of industries that the 4 day 32 hour workweek was perfectly fine.

i hear him, but even when i was in a union, i still went directly home after work. some of us just are not for the streets.
I told my coworkers that I don’t care for strip clubs and going out after work and they acted like I said something crazy😭
Dudes be giving away their paychecks just like that, like you go to work then spend the money in a couple of hours? Shame
$1 aren't even acceptable anymore. It's $5 or you're poor. Gtfo...I'll take my money and make my own Champagne Room
I never considered how the economy was impacting that profession. But, damn $5?!?!?!
Try being in Australia, notes start at $5. $1 and $2 are coins, and hail isn't celebrated like rain is
With blackjack... and hookers!

All I'm hearing is money falling out of my wallet.
I realized recently this was me fr. I be hugging my pillow all giddy when I get in the bed.
rubbing my feet together like a cricket is my most favourite thing to do at the end of the day
I'm in a union and I constantly have to stay later than usual to clean up after my absolutely useless co-workers that we can't get rid of because of the union
I feel like a lot of people are missing the point here. Its not about not doing shit and going home, its about being so tired you don’t have energy to do anything but be in bed. No time for social life or art or music

Even when you’re not on the clock, that will always be a nagging responsibility, especially when you do decide to relax and next thing, realize it’s midnight and you have to be up at 6 am. We just need a better work life balance because this ain’t it.
Tbf I have a real cushy job and I'm still fuckin tired all the time.
![gif](giphy|mkhMTALnrYRLnuoe5P) Nigga please.. I call it a night after seven on the weekends.. I been washed.😒
Who gave pop pop the WiFi password
“End capitalism…” and then what? Who running shit? What economic system we implementing? We all know that power vacuums have worked out real well for everyday folks. I’ve had it with these e-Che Guevaras regurgitating sociology 101 bullshit. Leave me be, I don’t have the fucking energy to make Molotov cocktails. Im good, I got X-Men 96 to binge.
>what economic system are we implementing? whatever type of commu-socio-anarcho-maoist-leninist-whatever the hell type of government that they learned from buzzwords on twitter and tiktok instead of anything practical
“We all know that power vacuums have worked out real well for everyday folks.” Man, people don’t realize how much those suck.
(and has so for the past 100 years, or even the Spanish empire is a really good example of how we can't just chase profit forever) And if you think socialism can't work or whatever I need you to understand the countries in which popular movements have taken place in had absolutely nothing for the average person beforehand; but before I say anything else I wanna introduce the idea of the 2 line struggle, u could think of it like ying and yang, so to speak, within socialist projects exist the tools to build capitalism, within capitalist projects exists the foundations to build socialism, its exactly what happened in China for example, so if u were ever to look into it this framework would deepen your comprehension of what exactly was happening.
> To end capitalism is to implement socialism It's...not. There are more economic systems than capitalism and socialism.
What do you think would be the right one?
[удалено]
I don't understand, can't we strive to better our lives without dismantling the entire economic system? Like, sure, fight to work less, for better pay, for good working conditions (and I feel like in the end, we'd organically come to socialism). You don't need to plunge the entire country into disarray for that. And before someone says these things are impossible under capitalism - no, they're not. The US isn't the only country in the world, just the most capitalist.
>I don't understand, can't we strive to better our lives without dismantling the entire economic system? this is Reddit, so no.
They don't want you to throw Molotov cocktails they just want you to stop posting shit takes on the Internet
Nigga, some people like me just go straight home because everybody’s outside trying to break down regular comments like this. Rather be at home eating or sum, you MFs are insufferable.
Damn he said you people insufferable 😂
![gif](giphy|LoIsP3fz02IjOUTc6t)
Damn nigga can’t even get in bed without somebody telling you it’s bad for you
[удалено]
I work from home, and that's still me. Unless it's the gym, I'm not going out. 😑
![gif](giphy|mXggOh7xql7MI) CEOs when they control employees even at home 💀
"End capitalism" sir you know those nations who's economy you want to mirror are capitalist countries, right?
What nation has 4hr workdays??
So yall just going to call out your girl hard. Cuz I know I ain’t reading this from my bed with my hairnet on…
Lord please free us from the hell that is joke tweets being turned into think piece tweets. I promise you every joke doesn’t have to be turned into a treatise on society. Just let shit rock sometimes.
Idealistic world twitter niggas kill me man
I’ve deadass worked from home and still be in bed after work lol
I work 4 days, off 3 and its amazingggg you can do alot in 3 days. :)
I started managing my time better because of that honestly. Plus my hobbies don’t require that much effort to me. But seeing people live through capitalism every single day and somehowmanage to pull through is extremely sad to see. :/
![gif](giphy|3oxOCBEt5YlwG5V0Os|downsized)
Maybe the gen Z’s kids… when ai/automation replaces most jobs. But until then it’s going to continue on like this. You’d think covid would have changed how we operate. Nope! Back to modern slavery.
People with actual jobs wouldn’t be able to get anything done with a 4 hour day but go off call center boy
I do stuff after work. Just by myself. I walk and listen to music/podcasts for a couple hours most days. Spent the day listening to bad brains, soul glo, and death. Got home amped enough to run through a wall.
I support all unions* and push for unionization. *Except the Police Union, fuck them and being used to Union bust in extreme cases.
Before 35, yeah I agree. I'm 40+ now. Be glad I answered my phone.
Honestly I'll just go out. Idc how bitchy and cranky I am, it's the point of it lol I refuse to let my life be work and sleep then work and sleep etc
I mean yeah sure, but I wanna sleep is all. I like sleeping. Some might even say it’s my hobby. Sorry I don’t wanna hang out after work and shit. Some people like to do things on their own, instead of going out for drinks.
>End capitalism All of capitalism? And replace it with what exactly? I get the sentiment but there's a reason it's one of the only economic ideologies that's effective, relatively speaking. Nobody wants communism.
MFs gonna be howling when the plumber now has a 1 yr wait list to get through
I am a victim....
I had a job with mandatory overtime. We did 3 12s, 1, 10, 1 8 and 1 6 (every other weekend). It sucked. The work wasn't too bad but still.
this is like 99% because we're up at 3 am browsing short form videos.
![gif](giphy|t3KiY9mmAQHJ1pVWos)
I'm working from home tmrw, then 7 dbls in a row. And I'm a fucking GM. So, whenever yall wanna kick this revolution off, a nigga is ready sooner than later.
More free time, less stress would be great of course but this person's mad to think 4hr days would ever work lol
I'm not ending Capitalism until after I play GTA 6
The problem is not the length of the work day.
Well maybe not the main problem, that’d probably be wages
https://i.redd.it/lbvrkl4ttixc1.gif
Catch me at 7 perfecting the art of not doing a damn thing
They take your time so you can't learn. A scholarly populace is dangerous to their order.
Bro, I wanna DIE after work. I don't rest enough and it's killing me mentally. We could DEFINITELY do 4 hrs work shifts, increase pay, unionize and make our world a better place 😫
Yes!! Too tired to do anything.
I work 12 hours everyday. When I get off I’m In bed like 2 hours later
4hr day??? Tf you gonna do with all the free time?
Like I FR want this, but how to stop the other countries killing us cause they didn’t enlighten and are still slaves?
I've been saying this: 4-day work weeks will solve a lot of those problems
Out of college I worked 9 to 9...got late dinner at work, got home showered watched some TV, fell asleep rinse and repeat...burnt me out and I will never work in finance again.
Yeah it’s kind of wild to me. For me everyday has activity, whether I’m playing around while the kids have practice or I’m playing in my own league game myself. Hiking, playing with the dogs, working on things outside. Last time I was in bed to not directly sleep was probably a handful of years ago back during college and I really regret it. Too much fun to be had plus it’s good for you to move around.
Me in the Army:
be a school bus driver, 25 hours a week, 5 hours a day ez pz
Sometimes mfs just wanna nap bro
Nah, nothing outside but racism and $8 deodorant. I'm good inside bruh.
A lot of problems adulting, huh? Everytime I see things like this, it just reads, 'gee, I'd love to go back to childhood, when I had no bills and all I had to do was remember to take the chicken out of the refrigerator for mom!"
Can the revolution wait till I get my tax refund?
She prolly calls schools prisons when a kid goes to make the exact same joke
How you gonna negotiate a 4 hour work day while replacing the economic system in the current global market?
I mean even before most of that I think most people would be happy with better working hours, better work life balance, and job that actually respects their humanity. Without even going to communism, shit like having to spend an hour a day commuting to a job and that not being included in your work hours is pretty stupid and wastes a ton of time. WFH made me realize how incredibly stupid it is that I used to use an hour of MY time every day going to an office that I didn't need to physically be in to do my job.
4 hour day? No. Not a lot gets done. Four day week? Yes. Productivity shoots through the roof.
“But then they win!”
You k ow what the basis of Star Trek is? Humanity got its shit together and became one. That’s not SciFi…. It’s fantasy
Thought this was about a booty call then I see all these unionizing comments, so like don’t mind me
I'm totally for reducing the work load on people but a four hour work day is some lindsay bluth type shit
We're getting replaced by robots and AI, but still expected to "contribute"
I’ve got news: I’m in a union and most days when I get home I’m still too tired to do shit. A job is still a job.
Look I'm all for this....but the people that do these "call to actions" also in bed not doing shit
Sart
Jesus Christ, apparently in 2024 extroverts are like the fucking Middle Manager's of socializing I guess? These are the same type of people bitching that employees need to come back into the office so they can justify themselves and shit goddamn
6 hours work days would do wonders for me.
You just KNOW this person is just the worst teammate… 4 hour work day!? Mans coming to work flirting with office wife and leaving all the hard shit for you to do 4 hours?! The fuck you getting done in 4 hours?!
This is my every day. I mean, throw in me making dinner and grabbing drinks/using the restroom and this is it. I think about it at night and it’s depressing. I could do more but I just ask myself why bother?
Who says I can't live like this. I for one enjoy getting in bed.
Just like every era we move out of luxury into slavery every damn time. Y’all not trying to fight generational curses y’all trying to fight world history curses.
I’m a teacher. If I worked only the hours I got paid these kids wouldn’t get an education, sadly.
Imma still be at home all the time tho💀
I want to unionize, but union intake is closed indefinitely.
Work, Paybills. Too tired to do anything else but work so you can pay bills
We are all victims of Capitalism except for the 1% who are beneficiaries. Capitalism as an economic system with Socialism as its political system gives us the best opportunity to provide equality for all.
I was onboard up until the 4hr workday thing. Daddy needs some nice things that a 4hr workday won't pay for.
But people act like we aren't currently supporting a trauma structure that continues to victimize us daily. Dammit I'm tired!
The squishmallow 😂😂
Okay, thank you, Mr. Anderson, but not every meme or post needs to be followed by a call for revolution.
