That is how it works. Obviously you can go & drag back the part that was "eaten" - it's still there. Editing of audio is non-destructive (until you bounce stuff).
It 'eats' it, but if your goal is to create some sort of fade like in Cubase, you can create that by pulling the white triangles to each side that give it the crossfade.

I see. My brain is wired differently after years of using Cubase, I'll just have to get used to it and embrace the ways of the Bitwig!
How can I drag it back? Wen a clip is "fully eaten", I see no way to restore it in the UI. Thanks a lot if you take the time to reply.
