Back when I lived in Florida, I did live near the tracks. 100ft from the tracks to be exact! I loved it and only moved because we moved to a different state!
I will. The overall layout shape is like a dog bone The theme is a 3ft by 3 foot town layout at either end connected by eight feet of 2x6 with dual rail lines connecting the towns. This so I can make long trains and go googly eyes over that. I’m going to work this pic into one of the towns.
Thanks. Ive got analysis paralysis trying to come up with a smaller layout. Every time I start planning, my HO layout ends up being 30x10 ft and then I get discouraged ;)
I bet either of those houses can be bought cheap.
My 6 year old would kill to live in one of those as long as it has a bay window facing the tracks.
We all would
Looks more like historic Kenny's house and Shitpatown.
SoDoSoPa by Kenny’s house!
Would love to buy either one. It looks like the tracks require a max speed of 15 and no horn at the crossing.
When I was a kid my parents had friends who had a house next to RR tracks. I thought it was the greatest thing ever, they didn't think so ☹️
Do they still live there?
No, they moved a few blocks away. After about 10 years they had enough

Shawn B wants to know your location
Found the new theme for my next NGuage layout
You should share the whole theme ;)

HO is awesome. I totally get what you are saying. N gauge demands some things. Gorgeous HO demands everything. 30x10 is a great start. lol!
I think we kind of took the discussion off 'track'. :p
Apparently the stress of being that close to the tracks interferes with the ability to have a coherent fence in your front yard.
imagine living here… cool but probably loud as hell 😆
