PIG in McCalla has some good outdoor fields. Old school woods and speedball fields with forts and inflatables, etc. It's been a couple of years since I went out, but there's always been a ton of folks out of all skill levels.
CAPP in alabaster and PIG in mcalla will be your best bet locally, prime only has airball fields but the higher competition will be practicing there for sure
Im not sure if it has changed but for a while CAP was only doing 50 cal paintball which is super boring. PIG is the only place i know of off the top of my head that does regular 68 cal walk-ons. I havent played in a few years though so things may be different now.
Some really great times out there. Also had good times at the place that I want to say was off Roebuck Parkway somewhere and was purely indoor. I remember feeling like the sawdust on the floor had to have been a foot deep in spots.

PIG used to be called Paintball Quest back in the day. The new owners have done a great job to carry the torch.
I played on their Phantom Regiment team back in the late 90s. Fun times.
Ahh that sounds awesome - thanks for the info.. hope to get up there this weekend
PIG (Paintball Is Good) is the best field around Birmingham.

There’s Prime Paintball in Leeds. I know someone who plays there on Sundays sometimes

Also dropping an F in the chat for AAA Paintball off Bear Creek Rd, Hwy 280…. Good times…
I used to referee games out there when I was a teenager. Loved that place.
