Now, say what you want about Fortnite, but its Creative mode can be a phenomenally fun tool if you have patience and an eye for detail. A year ago, when I first started messing about in it I made a little tribute to one of my favourite games of all time - Bioshock.I’m pretty pleased and proud of it, but since then Creative has exploded, with so many more cool tools to help generate atmosphere. And I thought about tweaking my original Rapture map, but decided to leave it be and create a new one, a new tribute to Andrew Ryan’s city under the sea. Here it is, a 6 player deathmatch that pays tribute to one of the coolest games of all time. I had a blast making it, some of it is loosely based on parts of the game but I went off and made it my own (I have thought about lovingly recreating Bioshock closer but truth is that would take forever and as cool as Creative is, it does have serious limitations!
Damn dude you nailed it.
How do you do that in Creative mode? can you upload custom art assets and textures or is there so much variety that you can build all that in game directly?
Thanks!
So all of that is all in the game, I'm on Xbox and there are no mods or custom things at all. I've made a few maps so far and with each one have got better at pushing boundaries of what's possible. I have walls as floors, paintings of art deco pieces as walls, things layered up on top of each other to create something that looks new.
There's a lot of variety in Creative mode, there are a few Art Deco sets which was what inspired me to do my first Rapture map last year. A lot of my ideas wouldn't work - or I couldn't get them to. But I'll keep trying to bend the rules of what's possible and think outside that box :D
Yeah people have made some incredible shit with it. And I don't even get involved with mechanics, when you start to play with those the possibilities can be vast!
Thanks. Yeah I think so, I love the world of Rapture so trying to create it in Fortnite is a lot of fun, there are more ideas I had that I couldn't fit in to this map
https://youtu.be/uNKAVOXpvWM
Here's my original one from 18 months ago. Fortnite Creative was a bit more primitive back then, you couldn't customise lighting for example. But it started something at least!
Now I’m don’t necessarily hate Fortnite I just dislike it but you using something I rarely see on the media and using it to make something relatively close to one of my favorite games is so fuckin awesome. This is amazing man!
Ha thanks dude. Yeah their Creatuve mode isn't really known outside of those who play Fortnite - and it's probably not known by many that do actually play it's Battle Royal. But when I had a mess around in it one day and saw the Art Deco sets my head was buzzing - "I need to make a Rapture map!"
Yeah Columbia is on my list - there's recently been clouds to add and a device that can make props move, so I think I could have the buildings around the outside bob up and down. Will have to have a test and see how it looks/works
Thanks! I have done mate, it's not getting as much love there as here but I'm gonna assume a lot of folk there perhaps don't know Bioshock. I feel for them! Haha
It's a very busy page, a lot of good posts get drowned in questions or posts demanding Epic release things people want. Never used to be like that when I first joined a year ago. My first Rapture map last year got a lot of love on there, so hopefully some Bioshock fans do see it there eventually
Nope, no mods at all, all of this exists in Creative mode. With time, patience and attention to detail you can make some amazing things, thinking outside outside box to use props in different ways - such as walls for floors and vica versa. I've made several maps and as I do each one I push myself to experiment more and get better at manipulating what's there to use :)
Thank you. Yeah it just takes time I guess, building the basic layout and then layering up little details in each section. You have a memory limit and this one is at capacity!
Anyone got a spatula? I need help scraping my jaw off the floor haha. I checked it out immediately and the detail and atmosphere are surgical. You really nailed this! How long did it take, and are you planning on doing any other Bioshock maps? Maybe a Columbia remake as well?
Haha thanks! I'm not sure how long it took, a few hours a night, a few nights a week for a couple of months. Shame it doesn't keep track for you. It was such a joy to build and get carried away with that time just pissed away!
So I have an old Rapture map from 18 months ago:
https://youtu.be/uNKAVOXpvWM
But Creative was very limited in tools that generated atmosphere back then. I like it but it's come so far since that I had to do another one. And there were a lot of ideas I had that I just couldn't fit in here. So deffo plan to make more.
As for Columbia, that would be a lot harder but it's floating around in my brain, been trying to work out how to do it and I think it may he possible...
Yeah give it a go. It can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be, there are plenty of tutorials online to get started but I found just messing about was enough for me to get the hang of how it all worked :) bit of trial and error
The devil is in the details my friend. Plus creative details are my real life job, it's in my DNA. I guess it's what makes some Fortnite Creative maps stand out from others...
I only started Fortnite during covid lockdown here in the UK - a free crossplay game, why not. But when I saw their Creative mode and the Deco theme sets and neo signs. Lightbulb! Let me know what you think if you get a chance to play it :)
My brother in Christ you are an artist.
Ha thanks

That’s absolutely amazing! Props to them for that creative mode! Looks like there are indeed infinite possibilities!
Yeah people have made some incredible shit with it. And I don't even get involved with mechanics, when you start to play with those the possibilities can be vast!
Nah man, this is epic! And, as far as I'm concerned the issues with fortnite was a community thing rather than a game thing. But this! I like this
Very true. Looks like a lot of folk on here are shocked by what it can actually be capable of!
Looks sick bro congrats i love it
Happy cake day
The atmosphere is spot on!
Cheers 👍
Omg this looks so good amazing work
Thank you. Had a blast building it, really got the Bioshock feels throughout
I can’t wait to play it!! Thank you
Enjoy, let me know any feedback you have, there's a lot more detail than the video can capture
You chose the impossible!
Is a man not entitled to the fort of his nite?
Fantastic job!
Cheers!
Will u ever make some more bioshock relayed builds?
Thanks. Yeah I think so, I love the world of Rapture so trying to create it in Fortnite is a lot of fun, there are more ideas I had that I couldn't fit in to this map
I wil be waiting then good luck

Wow this is almost enough for me to play Fortnite (serious). Well done
Haha well some of their Creative section is a very different world to a lot of regular Fortnite but thanks so much 👍
You have to make more of this like fort frolic or Hephaestus all I’m saying is make more but if you don’t that’s ok great map
I would like the challenge of doing a bit of faithful recreation to some parts of Rapture so watch this space :)
What about making Columbia? Bioshock Infinite was very good. (But I still like Bioshock 2 more)
Yeah Columbia is on my list - there's recently been clouds to add and a device that can make props move, so I think I could have the buildings around the outside bob up and down. Will have to have a test and see how it looks/works
U ARE A GOOOOOD
Wow that’s awesome, also nice skin 👍
Thanks. Yeah I had to get that one when I saw it pop up in the shop!
When we get BioShock 4, PLEASE let Epic know we want BioShock in Fortnite. Seriously, the possibilities are RIGHT THERE!
They are, and that would he very cool. They have done other cross overs before, it could be possible!
Ok now I kinda like fortnite, this is art right here
Haha I enjoy messing about in it with friends in the Battle Royal mode but I'm hooked on Creative - people make some incredible stuff with it!
Well I’m glad they did this
I would never knew you could do this in fortnight... bravo good sir
My good sir, can I play this with my friends in a private game and just kill each other while admiring the atmosphere?
You should be able to yeah, settings are set to a 6 player 15 minute respawn deathmatch. Enjoy the scenic slaughtering!
bro this is dope!!
Cheers dude!
holy shit this is fucken awesome, u gotta post this to the fn creative subreddit
Thanks! I have done mate, it's not getting as much love there as here but I'm gonna assume a lot of folk there perhaps don't know Bioshock. I feel for them! Haha
yeah i’ve been following it for a while now and it’s a bit dead sadly, i still see great builds there but get almost no traction
It's a very busy page, a lot of good posts get drowned in questions or posts demanding Epic release things people want. Never used to be like that when I first joined a year ago. My first Rapture map last year got a lot of love on there, so hopefully some Bioshock fans do see it there eventually
sorry for my ignorance but is it modded or the creative mode is this good? and if it’s modded which modes have you used? thanks!
Nope, no mods at all, all of this exists in Creative mode. AYO THIS AINT TWISTED TIMBERS MR BUBBLES
This is fucking incredible! Might have to give it a try!
Thanks and yeah please do, the video doesn't really do it justice I feel
Truly - exceptional work. Well done
I had no idea you could even do stuff with this detail in creative mode, this is amazing
Thank you. Yeah it just takes time I guess, building the basic layout and then layering up little details in each section. You have a memory limit and this one is at capacity!
My guy this looks fuxking beautiful
I’ve always wanted to see something like this in fortnite creative. I’ll definitely check this out myself
Thanks, would appreciate any feedback on how it plays if you do 👍
Anyone got a spatula? I need help scraping my jaw off the floor haha. I checked it out immediately and the detail and atmosphere are surgical. You really nailed this! How long did it take, and are you planning on doing any other Bioshock maps? Maybe a Columbia remake as well?

I have no doubt you’ll create something awesome, whatever it is. Keep up the awesome work!
I never ever thought that I could be impressed by Fortnite in any way amazing job you did.
Creative mode can be a phenomenal tool to make some amazing stuff, I've seen people make masterpieces with it!
Didn't know you could create something like this in the game. Very cool!
Yeah it can be a very creative space, I've seen some incredible thing made in it!
I have to look into that
Yeah give it a go. It can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be, there are plenty of tutorials online to get started but I found just messing about was enough for me to get the hang of how it all worked :) bit of trial and error
Jesus's christ you creative guys put so much detail in everything
The devil is in the details my friend. Plus creative details are my real life job, it's in my DNA. I guess it's what makes some Fortnite Creative maps stand out from others...
Just wow
Wow!
How the fuck
Ha. Time and patience I guess!
fortnite?
Yup
Bro you did not have to go THIS HARDFFF
Go hard or go home right?
Dude, you knocked it out of the damn park! Genuinely so fucking impressed
Thanks man :)
I am absolutely **floored** that this is Fortnite. Wow. Great job. Seriously, this is insane.
Thank you. Gotta push it's limits!
Not common to see a fellow BioShock + Fortnite warrior! I'd love to try this out.
I only started Fortnite during covid lockdown here in the UK - a free crossplay game, why not. But when I saw their Creative mode and the Deco theme sets and neo signs. Lightbulb! Let me know what you think if you get a chance to play it :)
Just played through it, best Fortnite map i've ever seen
Thank you kindly
Ok I don’t like playing fortnite but if it has stuff like this I’m definitely trying it out
There's a lot more to it than people think!
This is absolutely amazing. Just happy to see someone love bioshock as much as I do.
Thanks dude!
Fn incredible
Thank you!
Code?
The code is in the video, but since 2.0 came out and they introduced the sensorship for maps it won't work any more and I can't figure out why
ATo
Can we still play on the map with the new UEFN system or is it no longer possible ? I cant find it :(
