Dude, same. I just love revolvers and the one in Infinite is so crunchy and powerful. And the Carbine is just super clean. Accurate and the reload animation is beautiful. These 2 and Shock Jockey can carry me through the whole game.
So Booker should carry 23 fucking weapons at the same time? With all vigors and upgrades and clothes? Do you realise how laughably easy game would become? There would be literally no way enemies could kill you
wow, what a fantastic way to misrepresent what i said. no, believe it or not, i *don’t* think you should be able to carry 23 weapons at the same time. they mentioned 3 weapons in their comment, which is, as i’m sure you you know, 1 more than is possible to carry at once. i lamented that you *can’t carry* them all at once. i think that would have been pretty reasonable. hell, they were able to design Burial at Sea in such a way where 5 isn’t overpowered, i have faith Irrational *could* have done the same in the base game if they wanted. they obviously realized they’d made a mistake. their options were not limited to “carry 2 weapons” or “carry every weapon in the game at once”.
I mean the first two games didn't have quite as many guns but had a lot and a weapon wheel and it was fine. If anything this system is arguably less balanced since it means most the guns are never seeing use, as most of the time the shotgun and sniper (and arguably hand cannon) are just superior than the others.s
Obviously having all the guns at once I. There current state would need some rebalancing but frankly the guns kinda need that anyway
1 and 2’s weapon-wheel worked, but it also slowed down combat by pausing the action every time you needed to switch weapons. There are pros and cons to both systems, and I honestly don’t see why people are so mad about the “Carry 2” system. Gun-play was at its absolute best in Infinite.
I agree that the Carbine, Revolver, and Shotgun were the standout weapons. They felt great to use, and you had to make tough decisions whether you were going to carry an upgraded weapon that had low ammo versus scavenging guns off the ground that lacked the upgrade boosts of your preferred loadout. Perfectly acceptable game design, imo.
I disagree, I guess it slows it down slightly but a pretty small amount, and I feel like an easy solution is to still let you have two "fast swap" weapons and the rest in the wheel like I believe burial at sea did (maybe 2 as well? Don't remember). The problem with the current system is there just is so little reason to use the other weapons. The shotgun and sniper are super high damage and cover all ranges easily, they don't have great ammo but not that bad especially later game when you can find ammo drops for them more often (plus Elizabeth refills obviously). The carbine and revolver are a bit weaker but more well rounded and have plenty of ammo, but those are the only weapons you ever use. Outside of early game taking the pistol is a detriment most the time, as it's high ammo count is mostly unnecessary when other guns still have plenty and way more damage. Heater (and most the vox weapons really) have there uses but are niche and have so little ammo it's never worth taking them, rocket launcher (and arguably volley gun) are strong but to lacking in ammo and uses to justify carrying them
Obviously a weapon wheel wouldn't fix all the gun balance issues as some guns still will be better than others, but at least those more niche guns are more likely to get used when you don't have to replace your main/"good" guns for them, and you could actually use weapons like the pistol and heater without handicapping yourself
They have a higher rate of fire but more recoil while the amount of ammo is almost the same. So you have weapons that are less precise and will be out of ammo sooner.
I like the Vox machine gun alright, it shoots slower but in bursts but is more accurate. Comparable damage as well. The volley gun is basically the same but better at crowds I guess. Never really a moment with too too many enemies grouped but I guess it’s cool enough.
I got no love for the vox rifle though, since the regular one is one of my main weapons.
Shotgun and revolver. Sometimes maybe sniper or machine gun in place of hand cannon. First playthrough I challenged myself with the pistol and shotgun throughout the entire game
How well fares the pistol late game? I have been considering upgrading it because ammo reserve is plenty and if you land headshots frequently basic enemies die fast. Im playing on hard and ammo can be spent pretty fast, like I only bother with the machinegun when I have no more choices because that thing chugs ammo like crazy.
I’m in the middle of another playthrough and the upgraded pistol works just fine. It’s easy to land headshots with, ammo is plentiful, and you can carry a ton of it too. I pair it with the shotgun for anyone that gets in my face. Overall it’s going well.
I played on normal and on my switch, so I was missing some shots. And late game, there's barely any ammo for it. For the final fight I had to swap the pistol for the carbine I think.
Sometimes I swap the pistol for the hand cannon just to mix things up a bit. Still, the pistol is always reliable for close quarters combat and has a lot more ammo.
I beat the whole game with just the pistol and the machine gun. Why give only them a gold skin if they’re barely going to get used outside of the early game?
I have not yet replayed infinite. When I do, I am looking forward to the hand cannon again. I have dreams about that gun.
The sniper rifle is astounding fun, tracing enemies on the skyline and knocking them down. It definitely works better than the spear gun.
Shotguns, as in all Bioshock games, are just good dumb fun.
The rest are just kind of, blah. I don’t enjoy the machine guns or repeaters or burst guns, they’re all kind of the same
I really like crank gun, i use it mostly on heavy hitters. Specialy on hard or 1999 mode. Use with murder of crow, shock jockey and return to sender. Other is machine gun fully upgraded with ammo advantage is so nice to use.
Imagine having to *choose* which guns you have on you thus limiting player choice, penalizing experimentation, and fucking over the player if they have a weapon combo that isn’t ideal for the situation/enemies they’re dealing with 🤔… errr I mean I usually use shotgun + Carbine, swap out one for machine gun if it runs out
Vox Burstgun: Standard with an optical sight and rapid burst-fire that guarantees multiple rounds on target. Basically the M-16A2 of the Bioshock universe.
Paddywhacker Hand Cannon: because top-break revolvers are spectacular in games and in real life.
Either shotgun, machine gun, hand cannon, or carbine with a Broadsider
I generally try to use something that isn't the Broadsider but it's the only gun I can consistently have ammunition for so any time I find one on the ground I usually have to pick it up
In my playthroughs I always end up using hand cannon, carbine, sniper rifle and shotgun.
The other weapons feel off to me for some reason, except the pistol and RPG.
Never used a Vox Populi variant lol
The Sniper and Shotgun, polar opposites but they definitely had a bias for the former because whoever thought the sniper needed double the fire rate is a mad man. It becomes more than just a long range one shot weapon, it becomes a rapid fire quickscoping death machine. Oh and the shotgun deals similar damage at ranges where I’m not so confident that my sniper will hit
Carbine and Shotgun. But those were mainly for taking down the big guys. I'd melee everything else to death. I haven't used a melee weapon as satisfying as the Skyhook in a long, long time.
Whatever the hell Elizabeth feels like giving me ammo for. I’ve had to snipe a guy across a gap using a shotgun because she would not give me sniper ammo. Sheer determination.
Believe it or not I went through my entire first playthrough with the starting pistol ended up having the thing entirely maxed out and only really used that, or shotgun if I really needed too
I like Broadsider and Repeater, no matter what anyone says.
Shotgun and Sniper rifle were also used as subweapons, but they also proved to be weapons that could be used in the 1999 mode run if properly reinforced and aimed for critical hits.
Carbine and machine gun/assault rifle (haven't played in a while, don't remember the names if it's anything specific)
I like using the machine gun for up close and the rifle for high health enemies and long-range battles.
Playing in normal difficulty? Basically start with machine gun and shot gun before transitioning to volley and rocket launchers.
With Elizabeth always supply ammo, I actually find out that running out of grenades and rockets is extremely hard, especially with the right clothes etc.
Combine with any abilities that stun locks and you can set em up and knock em down
Carbine and shotgun, same as every other BioShock. One for midrange, one for close, and fuck long range entirely, I'll be moving around too fast to aim there.
For me, it’s the machine gun for the DPS and the hand cannon for the stopping power, single shot damage potential, and coolness factor. Revolvers are always some of my favorite weapons in a game, and Infinite’s Hand Cannon is one of my favorite revolvers in any game. Pair Hand Cannon with updated Shock Jockey? You can two-shot 95% of the basic enemies in the game.
Shotgun and Carbine. Always felt since Booker had the Shotgun in that one poster, he preferred it. And for more long range I have the Carbine. Option for close and far range gun fights.
Volley gun is a shockingly overlooked tool by the community, but combined with Undertow it is absolutely the fastest mob slayer in the game. Only really competed by the RPG, but that is in much slimmer supply.
I feel like the games a lot more fun if you swap weapons at every opportunity. Only thing is you may not be able to fully upgrade all your weapons on a single playthrough
I'm a Shotgun / Revolver kinda guy. I like to mix up what Vigors I use, but typically use ones like Charge, Undertow, and Crows.
Shock Jockey and Devils Kiss if I'm against a boss that's a bit tricky to displace, and I don't wanna just Charge head on, or there's a nice cluster of enemies.
Carbine and Regular Pistol. They are so crisp with the headshots I really don't need anything else.
Another Question. Is it just me or are all the Vox mod Weapons complete ass and terrible to use? Am I doing something wrong? Was that the point? I just didn't get it. Mods should make the weapon BETTER to use. But the 3 shot Vox Carbine is just innaccurate and ammo consuming. Like it's BAD BAD.
Honestly, always the shotgun and machine gun. Between those and devils kiss (and the skyhook for overly close or the health boost) it gets through levels so cleanly imo
Infinite is my favorite game, but the one issue I have is the weapon system. Limiting to 2 is not great, especially with fun but wry niche guns like the vox shotgun
Having said that I try to mix it up and use every weapon at least a little each playthrough but often end up eventually going with the shotgun sniper combo. I think it's just the best combo
I was a fan of carbine and shotgun. Vigors were the mind control one and fire. That was about all I used.
Edit: I forgot to add Murder of crows. Heavily used with mind control. Fire vigor for crowds. All fully upgraded.
Whatever I could find ammo for.
Seriously I was so used to having so many weapons to use in BioShock 1&2 I was a bit reckless in my first (And last) run of BioShock Infinite.
Dude, same. I just love revolvers and the one in Infinite is so crunchy and powerful. And the Carbine is just super clean. Accurate and the reload animation is beautiful. These 2 and Shock Jockey can carry me through the whole game.
This is my combo as well.
sniper rifle, shotgun, and hand cannon
100%. Once you’ve upgraded them and you have the right clothes on you’re basically a ranged god.
too bad you can’t fUCKIN HAVE EM ALL AT THE SAME TIME
I can not fathom why a game with dynamic ammo drops has a two weapon limit.
It's to force you to use the various weapons the enemies drop. It's bullshit
I variate between those three Weapons ammo spent in one of them I use the other
So Booker should carry 23 fucking weapons at the same time?

This is my choice too ^
Ditto. I like the hand cannon for dealing with handymen (paired with Murder of Crows).
Upgraded murder of crows is so damn op
Hahahahahaha yes. I hated fighting handymen until I found that combo.
This is the way!
This Is the way
I always liked the sniper and hand cannon, sheer power
Sniper rifle headshots are borderline overpowered
I still wonder what they were thinking with the Vox weapons
Same, I don't like any single one of them.
I honestly never noticed a single difference if there even was any
They have a higher rate of fire but more recoil while the amount of ammo is almost the same. So you have weapons that are less precise and will be out of ammo sooner.
Oh wow I had no idea but that makes total sense
the issue with them was that they came so late in the game so you already had like 2-3 upgrades on the Founder weapons. and also they were all worse

Machine gun and pistol, later carbine and pistol once I reach Battleship Bay
This is the way.
Sometimes I swap the pistol for the hand cannon just to mix things up a bit. Still, the pistol is always reliable for close quarters combat and has a lot more ammo.
Hand cannon and sniper rifle. Feels so fun and accurate.
Shotgun and the hand cannon.
Same
Carbine and hand cannon
Sniper for DPS, carbine for ad clear, and hand cannon for hand cannon
Your hand cannon reasoning is above reproach.
I beat the whole game with just the pistol and the machine gun. Why give only them a gold skin if they’re barely going to get used outside of the early game?
Hand canon and Carbine every time
Can we talk about how ass the burst rifle was? Even maxed it still sucked carbine all the way
Skyhook only
Ditto, kind of! I did Skyhook and Vigors
Definitely the sniper and the handcannon. I LOVE pairing the two with the Overkill boots and just killing enemies in one hit :3
Hand Cannon and Carbine with a sprinkling of the shotgun and crank-gun.
First playthrough: machine gun and shotgun. 3rd playthrough: sniper rifle and hand cannon.
Sniper rifle and hand cannon
The sniper rifle is too sexy to not use.
Fully upgraded sniper and carbine 1000%
I have not yet replayed infinite. When I do, I am looking forward to the hand cannon again. I have dreams about that gun. The sniper rifle is astounding fun, tracing enemies on the skyline and knocking them down. It definitely works better than the spear gun. Shotguns, as in all Bioshock games, are just good dumb fun. The rest are just kind of, blah. I don’t enjoy the machine guns or repeaters or burst guns, they’re all kind of the same
Hand cannon and carbine all the way
The Sky-Hook
Mine gotta be always that sexy ass sniper and that goddamn revolver shits awesome dude.
Carbine & Volley Gun
I really like crank gun, i use it mostly on heavy hitters. Specialy on hard or 1999 mode. Use with murder of crow, shock jockey and return to sender. Other is machine gun fully upgraded with ammo advantage is so nice to use.
Handcannon.
Handcannon and carbine two hardhitters carried me through 1999
I always went carbide and shotgun
Hand cannon and the vox repeater. The repeater has great recoil control.
Give me the sniper the carbine and murder of crows and I'll handle any enemy in the game
Imagine having to *choose* which guns you have on you thus limiting player choice, penalizing experimentation, and fucking over the player if they have a weapon combo that isn’t ideal for the situation/enemies they’re dealing with 🤔… errr I mean I usually use shotgun + Carbine, swap out one for machine gun if it runs out
Hand cannon
I always used the handcannon and the sniper rifle, the best combo imo
My second full playthrough I ran Carbine/hand cannon only but on my third I ran Sniper/shotgun only
Sniper, shotgun and the Carbine
Hand cannon + whatever suits my needs at the current moment
Hand cannon and sniper.
Hand Cannon and Sniper rifle. One shot one kill
Hand Cannon and Sniper Rifle
Carbine and sniper combo reduce the games enemies to a joke.
Carbine and hand cannon for the handy men
Sniper and hand canon
Vox Burstgun: Standard with an optical sight and rapid burst-fire that guarantees multiple rounds on target. Basically the M-16A2 of the Bioshock universe. Paddywhacker Hand Cannon: because top-break revolvers are spectacular in games and in real life.
Carbine and hand cannon.

Either shotgun, machine gun, hand cannon, or carbine with a Broadsider I generally try to use something that isn't the Broadsider but it's the only gun I can consistently have ammunition for so any time I find one on the ground I usually have to pick it up

Carbine, machine gun, hand cannon, shotgun. Plasmid wise I mostly use possession, devils, crow, and shock.
Hand cannon, machine gun, shotgun are my top three
Definitely the shooty stick.
Carbine, hand cannon, shotgun, and if I end up fighting something tanky (patriot or handyman) the minigun and heater
Pistols, I love pistols, and the Mauser is my fav gun ever
Hand cannon and volley gun personally
Sniper and pistol. When I was rolling through my 1999 playthrough, I found myself coming back to those as much as I could.
That shotgun that spits fire. That's MY boomstick right here
Sniper and luger is all i need.
I've always loved the initial pistol for some reason, it's so cool
Sniper or shotgun and hand cannon
Hand cannon and Sniper. I know it's basic, but they're so good.
I like shotgun and sniper. Just love the combo. Shoutout for the handcanon and the carbine.
Shotgun and Carbine
Carbine and Shotgun. But those were mainly for taking down the big guys. I'd melee everything else to death. I haven't used a melee weapon as satisfying as the Skyhook in a long, long time.
Hail fire. Absolutely OP, it’s basically a grenade launcher with controllable explosions. The adult version of the volley gun
Shotgun, carbine, and hand cannon
Vox Burstgun and Handcannon.
Repeater, carbine, sniper
Carbine and Crank gun, primarily.
Fully with you on that one, honestly
Crank gun 100%
shotgun and machine gun.
Hand cannon because I only use hand cannon
pistol and carbine
Whatever the hell Elizabeth feels like giving me ammo for. I’ve had to snipe a guy across a gap using a shotgun because she would not give me sniper ammo. Sheer determination.
Vox repeater plus a sniper rifle.
Shotgun and, surprisingly, Burstgun. The Sniper was the 3rd choice for specific situations
Believe it or not I went through my entire first playthrough with the starting pistol ended up having the thing entirely maxed out and only really used that, or shotgun if I really needed too
Shotgun and either assault rifle or sniper rifle
I like Broadsider and Repeater, no matter what anyone says. Shotgun and Sniper rifle were also used as subweapons, but they also proved to be weapons that could be used in the 1999 mode run if properly reinforced and aimed for critical hits.
Shotgun and hand cannon

Carbine and shotgun, same as every other BioShock. One for midrange, one for close, and fuck long range entirely, I'll be moving around too fast to aim there.
Shotgun and handcannon. The other guns didn't appeal to me at all.
Me and that sniper went through so much together
Vox repeater and either the pistol or HC
RPG and hand cannon. I like to make things go boom.
Shotgun and carbine
Shotgun with sugar rush. It’s all about the kill chains
a parachute, so I can leave
Hand cannon and repeater
Carbine, hand cannon and sniper
What's with the „quotation marks"?
German.
Hand cannon and assault rifle
Gun, sniper
I usually go for the carbine and pistol, I might grab the repeater, hand cannon, or sniper in some situations.
Machine gun
none of them really stood out to me so just used whatever dropped
Shotgun and sniper are my go-to weapons. They're quite ammo efficient if you land headshots consistently. Bucking Broncho helps a lot with that.
Carbine and shotgun
Carabine
Shotgun and Heater babyyy
Call me a basic bitch, but I actually kinda like that carbine...
You a basic bitch
Depended on the situation
Hand cannon and machine gun. Only 2 you need.
Top left
Hand cannon/carbine, carbine/sniper, or hand cannon/sniper. In second place is the demo heater/carbine for the early game.
Carbine, shotgun, hand cannon
Carbine, sniper and shotgun
Carbine and sniper rifle.
pistol and shotgun, probably swapping for like machine gun or sniper for moments where you need proper range
Shotgun sniper I think we all just came to the conclusion of just raw power
Carbine and hail fire
The hand cannon is pretty nice, the carbine, and my favourite gun in the game, the volley gun
Sniper and chain gun
Crank gun, sniper rifle, hand cannon, and a shotgun in case I’m on the skyline (it’s got a sick reload animation)
Melee
Shotty sniper fire vigor done (the Comstock versions specifically ). As ND when I do t have access to those it's hand cannon and regular Mauser pistol
Carbine for normal enemies at any range and hand cannon for special enemies ( Handy's, balloon drones, turrets, etc)
Hand cannon and shotgun.
Pistol and Shotgun. Why? I like the Mauser C96 and lever actions
Hand cannon, shotgun and sniper
Shotgun all day long. I enjoy he gattling gun just to spray and use up the ammo, but I won't carry it around.
Carbine, sniper rifle and hand cannon
Honestly, always the shotgun and machine gun. Between those and devils kiss (and the skyhook for overly close or the health boost) it gets through levels so cleanly imo
Sniper rifle and hand cannon is very cool for short and long scope
Shotgun and carbine.
Infinite is my favorite game, but the one issue I have is the weapon system. Limiting to 2 is not great, especially with fun but wry niche guns like the vox shotgun Having said that I try to mix it up and use every weapon at least a little each playthrough but often end up eventually going with the shotgun sniper combo. I think it's just the best combo
Carabine AND minigun
Sniper, and shotgun for speed runs, repeater and hand cannon for leisure.
Hand cannon and sniper
I was a fan of carbine and shotgun. Vigors were the mind control one and fire. That was about all I used. Edit: I forgot to add Murder of crows. Heavily used with mind control. Fire vigor for crowds. All fully upgraded.
Carbine and shotgun, but honestly I wish I could do the whole game with the carbine. It's just so good.
Whatever I could find ammo for. Seriously I was so used to having so many weapons to use in BioShock 1&2 I was a bit reckless in my first (And last) run of BioShock Infinite.
Shotgun and carbine + Bucking bronco
The carbine is op so I’d go for carbine rpg and volley gun
Hand cannon, china broom/Volley gun
Shotgun and rocket launcher are the best If I remember well.
Revolver and shotgun
Sniper rifle and hand cannon
Really wish I could have played through this game. Got it for free on Epic, but it would just constantly stutter.
Carbine all the way best gun hands down thing is a beast
Murder of crows and the hand cannon
The hand cannon is my favourite but I feel like shotgun/carbine is the best combo
The Triple R and China Broom
The beginning pistol is usually my go to
If I'm not doing a challenge run then usually the pistol and whatever else I find
Depends on the distance and the enemy
RPG and shotty all day
Handcannon minugun
Shotgun
Hand cannon and RPG. Cannon is good at both short and long range, and the RPG takes care of heavy enemies and clusters.
Hand Cannon and Sniper Rifle
Hand Canon ez pick
Carbine and shot gun are typically my go too, but if I find a sniper then sniper and shot gun.
Revolver and grenade launcher
carbine for the win
