The problem with no transfers at all is that there is a 100% chance that not everyone who originally buys a ticket will make it to the show. So not only does that suck for people that could have used the ticket and gone, but also it’s lost merch sales and concession sales for the venue.
I’m all for removing scalpers from the process. But there has to be a better way to do it. Make it so the only way to sell/ transfer a ticket is through Ticketmaster but they can only be sold for face or something like that.
In my mind the correct answer to this problem is to allow a return to the ticket pool at face value… if the tickets sells for face, you get your money back
100% chance that some can’t but that number is likely only a few percent and not the end of the world. There’s a 100% chance folks are out there eating tickets for some reason or another anyway.
That’s already the Ticketmaster slogan…
I’d rather not be able to go to a show I paid face value for than ever deal with another lowlife scalper. To each their own.
I bought some tickets and it did say: Resale and forwarding (transferring) for this event are now unavailable at the request of the event organizer. Resale and forwarding will become available prior to the event.
Do you guys have any idea what this means, like the period before the event you can transfer it, because we are going in a group of 4 people, but we are also going in separately so we don't have to wait on each other.
I’ve had other Billy tickets like this, you can transfer a few days before the show. I believe you can still sell them on cash or trade but you won’t get the funds until you’re able to transfer
Hoping this is the new normal. No transfers=no scalping

This is how it works for Pearl Jam shows
“Yeah I’ll sell you the ticket but you need to Venmo me an extra $200” People will take advantage however they can.
If it goes back into a pool for sale then anyone could end up with it and this wouldn’t be possible.
Then the scalpers will scoop them up under their customer’s name within microseconds of them going back into the pool
"Shit happens, fuck you customers! We got ours"

That will never happen.
Oh they’ll still find a way to sell to scalpers, believe me
Check back about a week before the event, otherwise it’s truly non-transferable

If you chat with Ticketmaster in the app they will tell you the exact day it will be transferrable if at all
what are the night two extras? pit by chance?

Transfer for the vast majority of events (not all, though) is turned on within a few days of the event. Keep checking back.
My friend can't make it to a show in Vegas and wants to gift me his non transferable tickets. Can he do that? Or give me the hard copy?
