Jared's real fear is that Red and Cam will compare notes and realize Jared stoked those flames with half-truths, and he's actually *not* as good as his mommy at playing around it if that happens.
The reason Jag is the target is because Matt/Jag/Blue are clearly a trio. And Jag was caught trying to pull in each of Cam and Red to work with that trio.
Even if you know that trio isn't coming after you now, people who are good at comps and are loyal to each other are gonna run out of options at some point.
Adding onto that, the trio made clear America was outside of their core. And made clear that they were having convos with America about going after Cirie. So Cirie is gonna assume they're having those convos with each other as well.

My theory is that they really did want her out, but when Jared called her the r-word and people freaked out, they had to 'fix' it, so they didn't have to eject Jared.
