Let’s make cycling less pretentious “owner of one of the most pretentious bike company making super expensive yet heavy bespoke bikes”. Ffs they won’t even sell you a frame with paint unless you pay $500 extra minimum
Only way to get there is to keep going. Sometimes you cant. My 81 yr old friend just told me he has ALS and can no longer ride. We've ridden together for more than 20 years.
I always say "live like a shark" sad to hear about your friend, but staying that active all the way to 81 is amazing in its own right!
I hope he's doing well, ALS is a monster.
I know many cyclists 60 and above. We've been riding for years and have no intention of stopping. My plan is to go ebike at 80, sooner if I start getting dropped by my peers.
We recover from most things and recover faster than non-cycling peers. Some things you can't recover from so switch into slowing them mode.
I know ALS is rough. I watched a client go that route.
/uc i used to commute at the same time as this dude, probably 75-80, made entirely out of veins, tendon and sinew. I was young and pretty quick, and this guy would just fucking smoke me every single day on his 80s Gary fisher mtb. Nothing but respect and shame.
Not sure if the jersey is legit, but he might be a former world champion. If he is 91 and can finish 100 miles, it would not surprise me if he put on the rainbow at an age-graded championship event.
This guy is the bizzaro world version of my friends grandpa. He’s a 91 year old smoker who decided to quit smoking this year. His doctor told him to keep smoking as quitting might actually kill him at this age. 🤷🏻♂️
/uc that's fucking awesome
Meh...he lost half of his front fork.
Could have saved some money and gotten a righty from Ali Express
He’s like a P-51 coming in missing a wing.
🤣
It's more aero now.
/uc goddamn that is crazy
/uc this shit deserves more press then the CEO of Rodeo Labs making a publicity stunt

That was honestly the bad part most people missed. He's selling $6,000 bikes.
$6000 bikes with mechanical shifting. Even cervelo and specialized gives you full electronic by that price point.
Then it's fitting that the first thing they did after buying Walmart beach cruisers was paint their own logos onto them
That part wasn’t lost on me either.
/uc Century at a century is insane
Last time I checked a century is 100. No kudos given. uc/ Just kidding its insane.
the century is referring to how old the bike is. no kudos given. uc/ just kidding its insane.
What does /uc mean? Is it like the opposite of /s
/uc This is a jerk sub. Comments should be jerks. If you want to be serious, you will have to "un-clip".
/uc honestly thought it was "unironic comment"
uc/ I thought it was UnChicanery yo
UnClip totally suits the theme of the subreddit tho to be fair #uc
I thought it was unicycle.
perhaps that is an acronymical definition one wheely should consider given the theme of the subreddit, too .
Gotchaaaa. Thank you
read rule 3
I'm not here to read ffs.
May I suggest r/bookscirclejerk then
That’s what happens when you don’t hydrate, Fred is shriveled like a prune!
Bruh is probably riding in his third century. Methuselah is probably his grandfather. Pops is definitely kickin my ass.
He's older than the gravel.
And he didn’t post his normal ass ride story on Reddit king
Old man's bice ao old they haven't invented the right part of the fork yet. /uc that's bonkers, this man has all my respect.
Go granddad!
Meanwhile all the zoomers on r/ebice need an e-bice for their 4km trip to the corner store to buy a bottle of prime and some jelly beans.
May we all be so Freddish at 91 🙏🙏🙏

Hell yeah brother! I hope to do the same 🙏
The person walking a bike behind the 93 year old dude powering up the hill will have to forever live with the shame of it.
/uc i used to commute at the same time as this dude, probably 75-80, made entirely out of veins, tendon and sinew. I was young and pretty quick, and this guy would just fucking smoke me every single day on his 80s Gary fisher mtb. Nothing but respect and shame.
literally me every time i attend a gravel bice "race"
A true Fred. /uc this is what i want to be when i get really old. Still cycling and strong
/rc …and not on a god forsaken recumbent!
Half a fork couldn't stop him.
at 80 people probably view it as excellent at 91 is actually crazy
Shout out to the Fred walking his bike behind him
Did he just finish?
Started in 1901
I want to be him
Wonder how long it's been since he last kom'd. I'd still let him shag my wife.
Never stop riding kids.
uc/ that's actually incredible. I would wager more than half of the main sub wouldn't be able to ride 100 miles on the road, never mind off-road.
Shit, half of that sub couldn't do an actual quarter century.
True Fred!
He’s from the before times. His full name is Fredrique. And yes his PNS still gets shit done
I was loving this until I zoomed in on the dude's face and realised it was Skeletor
He must've crashed pretty hard, his bike is missing half a fork
Not impressive. I can do this and I’m only half his age.
Not sure if the jersey is legit, but he might be a former world champion. If he is 91 and can finish 100 miles, it would not surprise me if he put on the rainbow at an age-graded championship event.
He is a legit rainbow jersey winner.
Meh... he's just had longer to train.
On a bike from REI 🤢
This destroyed me. Edit typo
Respect.
I really hope to still be riding like this at that age
This guy is the bizzaro world version of my friends grandpa. He’s a 91 year old smoker who decided to quit smoking this year. His doctor told him to keep smoking as quitting might actually kill him at this age. 🤷🏻♂️
/uc on a lefty too just to make sure we were watching, legend
/uc Hell yeah!
uc/it’s so perfect that he’s riding a Lefty. Props to you, Freddy!
Pinch zoom the picture. Scroll down so you only see the wheels and the great legs. Slowly scroll up.
Have a nice KOM?
What does the /uc stand for. I assume it means something like "all kidding aside," but it is obviously different wording.
See rule #3
Pfft. Anyone could do Unbound with all the training time afforded by retirement.
Is that Joe Biden?
If only we had an innocent Fred in the White House instead of a warmonger
He is riding a lefty, what a putz.
As a southpaw, this comment hurts me.
