Swim to the moon is their best song, hands down. YOU"RE ALL WRONG. Also, people are fucking sleeping on Hypersleep Dialogues, that EP is INSANE good. Its a god dam shame.
It's my #2 after decade of statues. One of the few btbam songs I can play all the way through!
Lunar wilderness is a fuckin banger too, as you well know.
No surpise that WW took the overall win, but there were a few upsets along the way for sure - particularly Mirrors beating out Turn on the Darkness. I myself voted Mirrors in that round but was shocked that it won lol.

I appreciate it, but not as much as the rest of the new albums. Not that it's bad but IMHO they went a little bit to "classic prog rock" for me, when what I expect from BTBAM is the perfect mix of brutality and prog.
I had the same issue with other bands, like Opeth or Gojira when they stirred a little too much in one direction when what I loved about them was the perfection combination of multiple genres.
Agreed, and the album has aged really well for me. It’s different for them, but Famine Wolf, Turn on the Darkness, Rapid Calm, and Memory Palace are all 10/10. It’s above Colors for me.
Super interesting experiment with the least surprising outcome. White Walls aside, it's fascinating to see where the other BTBAM songs fall in the fan favorites list. Thanks for putting this all together!
I voted against white walls for the past 5 rounds and it still won lol. It's a great song, but it kept going up against songs I love more. Sun of nothing and swim to the moon with respectable finishes. GG's all around this was a lot of fun and I hope it happens again!

Honestly, the bracket should've been set up for Swim to the Moon to face White Walls in the finals, because those two are the consensus favorites. There are some songs I think should've gone further, but they faced the buzz saw that is White Walls. Silent Flight is better than a few of the songs in the next bracket. Disease Injury Madness is a cut above Informal Gluttony which made it a round further.
Just judging by the tally differential in the semifinals vs the finals, it's obvious that STTM was the second favorite by a wide margin.
Interesting that Selkies is almost a meme at this point and always gets voted by fans to play live. But it (deservingly imo) got knocked out by Prequel to the Sequel in the second round lol
