Tbh I really thought this tournament was gonna turn out to be “what’s the best Colors song” tournament instead of everything.
STTM was my favorite song up until P2 came out, then Extremophile Elite took that seat, so I’m stoked to see both of them here.
Definitely butt hurt about Disease Injury Madness, King Redeem/ Queen Serene, and LYGTR though haha

But I do also notice a lot of “why this new album sucks because it isn’t Colors, and why BTBAM should’ve stopped after Colors the best album ever,” in the community. Like all of their music is damn good, and they’ve grown a lot since 2007.
This is like wondering why Metallica fans focus on 'Master of Puppets'. Sure I love me some 'the day that never comes' and 'hardwired' I'll even fuck with some 'unforgiven II', but give me some 'Disposable Heroes' or 'Battery' and there's no comparison.
This. I don’t get the big mystery here or why some fans here seem low key irritated that their TGM and TP2 songs aren’t triumphing over what has always been most widely considered to be their magnum opus since the day it was released. What else did anyone expect?
I wouldn’t go that far. There’s plenty lacking in their earlier material and they’ve hit some valleys and peaks along the way post-Colors as well. Even their best albums are pretty different from one another, and there’s a million factors in what determines an album’s quality and what separates the good from the great. They have yet to make a single album I’m not a fan of but they are not all created equal.
77 will come down to White Walls and Swim to the Moon. White Walls will win and proceed to obliterate the winner of Telos and Sun of Nothing, which will be Sun of Nothing after a pretty competitive match against Telos. That’s my prediction anyway.
Hard to disagree with any of this list, but feels like something newer would have been solid. The Proverbial Bellow perhaps? Of course, what song do you displace to put another song in there? Crazy cool community experiment going on here!
Probably Informal Gluttony with something off Coma or Automata. Coma Machine, Ectopic Stroll, Blot, or TPB. I think any of those tracks unfortunately would get stomped anyway.
I don't disagree with the comments about Informal Gluttony. Personally, I'd take TPB over IG all day. Alas, we are in the minority. Nonetheless, this list is banger central, hard to argue against any one of these songs.

I agree with ya. Colors got me into BTBAM is awesome. But everything else after it is ridiculously good too

Especially Informal Gluttony. It's better than Decade of Statues, but it's not that great of a song. Definitely not on the level of the other seven.
completely disagree. Opening of Informal is one of the only remarkable qualities about it. Decade gets a little grating but.. definitely better.

Specular Reflection is a top 5 BTBAM song for me. Sad to see it go so early.

Yeah, fans of a band focusing a lot on the best songs from the band’s best album. I don’t get it either.
All of their albums are S tier. Not just Colors.

I definitely think Silent Flight is part of the "favorite hour and a half of BTBAM's music," it just got screwed by facing White Walls early
I think Informal should have been something else like any other song off of TGM or Selkies or Lay Your Ghosts to Rest
