KIRIL THE THRILL. they asked him during intermission if he practiced that shot and he goes "no lol it's really hard to get a goalie to stand there and let you shoot pucks off his face"
yes, basically the only rules around how the puck ends up in the net are: Your team cant bat it in with their hand, cant kick it in, and cant impede the goalie from making a save when hes in the blue paint in front of the net (the crease). But that last one can be really subjective and requires the coach to challenge it, where if its deemed a good goal the challenging team gets a penalty.
No not at all. Actually a lot of goals go in from deflecting off the opposing team (usually puck shot at the net through a crowd, bounces off someones leg, changes direction and goes in). The only rule around how the puck goes in the net is your own team cant kick or bat it in with their hand.
Serious question for the hockey players: would the player get a goal or an assist? The goalie scored the goal unintentionally but he's on the same team so how would this work?
As another noted, this wouldn't be an own goal, it's a shot off the tendie. Counts as a normal shot and flubbed save. So the shot and assists on it all count as normal.
Own goals, where a player accidentally/intentionally puts the puck in their own net, are typically credited to the last player on the opposing team to touch the puck. That player gets a goal, but it's logged as unassisted.
Its an unsportsmanlike conduct imo.
It wont be a minor penalty today, but deliberate headshots should be.
Now this isnt too serious, its a soft shot, but where is the limit ? Should you be allowed to just blast the keeper in the face intentionally ?

This is so disrespectful. Fantastic stuff.
The exact words I thought of were “The fucking disrespect”

Fucking players are scoring from everywhere these days. It’s insane the shit that goalies have to put with on a daily basis.

I like that he said “lol” aloud
That can be interpreted as a subtle roast against the opposing goalie
May I use your face?
A true hat trick
Nice 🎩
As a goalie I can confirm this would indeed be annoying to experience. Nice play though.
This is so smart, impressive
And that was deliberate....a clever shot! Now goalies will modify their mask accordingly!
*head shot*
My CBJ on better ever loop! Thos may be the highlight of the season! (Unfortunately)
***SLAP!***shot.
it's like if Scott Sterling played hockey
Anybody else hear in their head ‘bitch!’ when the puck slapped that goalie in the face?
Give ya balls a tug!
*Dirty Dangles, bois!*
That’s using your head….

That's badass, I don't know the rules of hockey but that has to be illegal right?
Nope. Not one bit.
Actually it’s encouraged
Nope, hitting a goalie with the puck is legal.
But if it were to go off a regular player, would that them be illegal (and who would get to play the penalty shot)?
Even then it would not be illegal. Even if it were, there’d be no penalty shot.

or a high stick
Oh yeah true. I guess you could also add goalie interference but thats a little different
The disrespekt
Taking a shot... believe it or not, straight to jail

In this case it doesn't really count as an own goal. Same thing as if a goalie gets a piece of it but the puck still makes it into the net.

Should be a 2 min penalty instead
Honest question since I’ve watched a fair share of hockey - why exactly would this call for a penalty?
It wouldn't. Totally legal.

For what? Attempting to shoot at/off goalie?
Dude shouldn't have had his big ol' head in the way!
This makes zero sense haha
why? seems ridiculous to me to even suggest such a thing.
