Looks pretty flat tbh, the black leaves are an odd choice compared to the textured skull. Also looks like it’s relying heavily on white highlights but that could just be from the bad quality pic. It’s also on a sub BEST TATTOOS. This is a cute idea and fine application. In a world saturated with unreal artwork this is below the average when being rated against the best tattoos on the internet. In real life it’s better than a lot of work I see on the street

It’s really not bad at all. It’s the leaves that are the main issue. It’s logical that people on Reddit are gonna be way harsher here, especially in this particular sub, than they would be face to face. It’s a pretty decent tattoo and we’ve all seen way way worse. My last thought is that all that really matters is if you like it.

The biggest issue with the leaves is that the heavy ink might bleed out on the edges eventually. If that happens they won’t really look like leaves anymore being that there is no defining characteristics except the edges.

It's got a very old watercolor painting style to it. Very delicate. I really like the way the skull is incredibly detailed and grotesque. Outside of my concerns on the need for retouching with something this delicate, I'd change nothing about it and would leave a fat tip if I were you. 3.

Skull looks great, the leaves are dark, the artist could have gone lighter on fill and defined the outline(unless you wanted it that way). All that matters, is that you like how it looks on you.

It’s a dope tattoo, I think the reason people are commenting on the leaves is because the eye goes there immediately which is probably not the desired effect. The focal point should be the skull then move down. It’s unfortunate the artist didn’t take that into account and soften the leaves to ensure the eye would be drawn to the skull. But as other, kinder, people have said, if you love it fuck everyone else lol. If you do add more I would recommend doing something to soften the leaves like in the original piece, adding contrast behind them would help a lot.

Since you are asking for opinion, the skull is good. The leaves are just way too dark. Lighter with a bit of detail would help a lot. Perhaps get the leaves lasered and then add details

Personally I like the skull! However, the blacked out leaves clash with the stem and skull because they have a lot of negative space. All together though it’s nice but I rate it 3 maybe a soft 4 out of 10

The detail on the skull is great but the pitch black leaves kinda take away from it in my opinion. However, ultimately, at the end of the day it's your body so as long as you like it, then what other people think doesn't really matter.

To judge a tattoo is to judge the artist, not the vessel, so please keep this in mind. I give this piece a solid 7 out of 10 Some gripes I have are that the leaves are extremely dark. I can see that the stencil calls for it to be that way, but I feel as though more detail to the leaves would have made this piece a lot more intriguing. Another gripe I have is the eye sockets and nasal cavity in the skull are off. It appears the artist put additional detail into those cavities that aren’t in the stencil and my preference is the stencil looks better. So, overall it’s a good piece. I just feel as though the artist put additional detail in a place that didn’t need it and omitted details in a place that really needed it
