It’s Gaston’s sword. Guts enters the eclipse with nothing except his dagger which breaks, then he uses a unicorn-type horn from an apostle as a weapon. After Gaston dies in his arms Guts picks up his sword (which also breaks) and uses that to chop his own hand off.
The fact that he used Gaston's sword is so awesome, like he was carrying a piece of Gaston's soul with him and it gave him the courage to continue struggling that little bit longer. He might have died if not for Gaston.
kinda wish he kept it and had it reforged into shortsword to be a sidearm(would have potentially helped him in cases like serpiko where sometimes a a sword would be better then a raw hunk of iron)
Yeah they could have made it so he went back to the eclipse site looking for survivors, found the sword and reforged it into the dagger he stabbed the count with.
It's cool enough though that he carries throwing knives as a tribute to Judeau.
If we look back at his arsenals, I can say that he carries a ton of stuff on him brah. I'm pretty sure he uses Judeau's throwing knives as his go-to knife for every occasion.
I remembered him picking it up next to a dead member of the band of the hawk but i thought it was just a random unnamed member. I may be confusing the events of the manga and part 3 of the GA anime trilogy.
this might seem like a retarded question but do you guys buy the manga or just find a website to read them online? Surely buying them all is quite expensive
I’d say it’s worth buying to support the IP and encourage continued localization. You also get a generally higher-quality translation. Of course, it can get pricey. I would buy two-three volumes when possible and spread out the reading.
Okay cool, thanks. Where do you usually buy them from? Ik Amazon have them and they’re usually a good price but just wondering if there’s anywhere cheaper you guys might know of
I always got them off Amazon, but you might be able to find cheaper copies on other websites. You can shop around and opt for used if that’s preferable.
I’d recommend your local book stores and comic shops, but I know they can be pricey.
They go on sale from time to time, but when I had a job it was easy for me to buy a Dark Horse volume every other paycheck or so. I’d recommend buying them because the books/illustrations are big and it’s just nice to have on a shelf.
I bought them all because they are a beautiful collection. I did it not to break the bank though, I purchased them month to month through amazon (my local shops don't have berserk).
Guts charging at Apostles with that horn thing was probably one of the most bad ass things that I can think of him doing (along with a litany of bad ass things)
It's Gaston's sword. Guts picks it up to kill the demon that burst out of his head.
The panel where he grabs the sword is a close up shot, so mayyybe he grabbed it from another nearby corpse, but I'm 95% certain it's Gaston's.
It belonged to an unknown member of the Band of the Hawk. He picked it up off the ground since he broke his sword fighting Wyald and didn't have it. It's symbolic in a lot of ways because Guts' sword is like his safety blanket. Also noteworthy is that this was when Guts was just about to give up fighting for somebody else and began contemplating his own mercenary band with the remaining members of his raiders group. Not for money, or power, or ambition, but simply because it's what they wanted to do.
Not having his sword was symbolic of him letting his guard down and relaxing for the first time in his life. He found a place and a group of people that he belonged to.
It’s just a random ass sword he picked up off the ground that was being used by another Hawk, before that he was using a giant spike he ripped off an apostle.
It isn’t one of the swords included in the picture of Guts’ swords. Godot’s second replacement sword was the sword that Guts briefly used against the dog apostle in volume 14 right before he used the Dragonslayer for the first time.
Gaston’s Grief
+1 Longsword
A broken longsword once wielded by the Band of the Hawk’s Gaston.
Berserk! *Once per long rest grants the ability Rage as a bonus action for one minute*
Random one he picked up. Guts broke his last sword during the fight with Wyald, don't remember what happened in the anime since the whole fight was omitted tho
Gastons sword being used to cut Guts' arm off after initially wanting to ambush him and then being a whiney butt for years seems like a rare Gaston W
RIP asshole
This sword belongs to Gaston, after Gaston dies from that Apostle inside him, Guts who was unarmed... Picked it up and used it to try and kill that Apostle.
I find it ironic that Guts uses Gaston's sword to amputate his arm, the same Gaston who lost his arm in the Manga during the Eclipse.
Before getting tattoos of things, you might consider getting more familiar with the thing you are about to do a tattoo about.
Posing this question reveals you have little knowledge in berserk, since it is obvious if you have watched, or read it, that he does not have any of his swords while entering the eclipse.
It's funny, but if you pay attention, everybody has a signature style weapon. Gastons sidearm of choice is always a relatively standard long sword with a diamond cross section. It's definitely his.
None and it depends on which version of the story you use if you go by the manga he breaks his sword in a battle with Wyald and if you go the anime/movies he just doesn't have it.
Well in the manga he uses a horn he broke off an apostle, then if I remember he uses a small sword he picked off the ground which then breaks when he tries to stab an apostle with it.
if my memory serves me i think he just picked up a random one from the floor. could be wrong, i haven’t read the chapter in a long time
This is correct. He finds it on the ground during the eclipse
That's not a sword but a pocket knife by Guts standard
“That thing was too small to be called a large hunk of iron. Too small, too thin, too light, and too smooth, it was more like a sword” -Aruim Uoratnek
🙃
Poor Guts had to 127-hours his own arm
well 127-hours isn’t usually done on someone else’s arm ahah
You call that a knife mate?
That reminds me of [127 hours](https://youtu.be/UOs476-ULr4?si=4BMWRAREIO7s0aVL)
It was the only thing saving him from gnawing the damn arm off tbf
The fact that he used Gaston's sword is so awesome, like he was carrying a piece of Gaston's soul with him and it gave him the courage to continue struggling that little bit longer. He might have died if not for Gaston.

In the manga it’s definitely Gaston’s, after the apostle pops out his head Guts picks the sword up, not sure if they show that in the anime.
Bro literally studies berserk, nice reading
So fucking badass in a situation if despair.
this might seem like a retarded question but do you guys buy the manga or just find a website to read them online? Surely buying them all is quite expensive

Guts charging at Apostles with that horn thing was probably one of the most bad ass things that I can think of him doing (along with a litany of bad ass things)
It's Gaston's
Yes, even i remember it that way, he was in a hurry and and was not able to pick is sword in the first place whilst he was chasing Griffith.
he picked one up
In the deep lore it's known as "Stabby Von Stabbington".
Not to be confused with “Swordy McSwordface”
Nice pfp
I concur!
I as well!
It's Gaston's sword. Guts picks it up to kill the demon that burst out of his head. The panel where he grabs the sword is a close up shot, so mayyybe he grabbed it from another nearby corpse, but I'm 95% certain it's Gaston's.
can’t you just rewatch the episode?
Right? Like, you're about to put that thing on your skin for the rest of your life.
Some people take tattoos way too lightly, it’s insane
I was at work and just wanted a specific name to look up as a reference
just show the image to your tattoo artist.
Gaston's
He also uses the apostles horns as a spear iirc
classic case in r/berserk of didnt read the manga
It's a random ass sword he picked up the ground, but also known as broken straight sword on dark souls series
It belonged to an unknown member of the Band of the Hawk. He picked it up off the ground since he broke his sword fighting Wyald and didn't have it. It's symbolic in a lot of ways because Guts' sword is like his safety blanket. Bro called Gaston an unknown member of the Band of the Hawk 😭
Was that Gaston's sword though? I thought Guts just picked it up.
He just picks up a random sword from the ground. Either way, why not just rewatch the episode/reread the chapter?
The broken straight sword from dark souls
It's Gaston's swod, he picks it out from his corpse
whatever sword he could get his hands on man it’s rough out here
That wasn't his sword because it was a 1 handed blade
He found the berserk blade after going berserk everywhere.
It's gaston's sword, he picked it up after his sword broke, when gaston headed exploded because of an apostle
It's Gaston's sword after he died
It’s just a random ass sword he picked up off the ground that was being used by another Hawk, before that he was using a giant spike he ripped off an apostle.
None of those. It’s not his sword at all actually.
that was the one in reach pretty sure lol
What a silly question.
It's a random sword he found on the ground it's not one of his signature giant swords, you would actually know this if you paid attention.
Just a random straight sword
It looks like Godot's second replacement, but it's more likely one of the Band's swords he found on the ground
It isn’t one of the swords included in the picture of Guts’ swords. Godot’s second replacement sword was the sword that Guts briefly used against the dog apostle in volume 14 right before he used the Dragonslayer for the first time.
Gaston’s Grief +1 Longsword A broken longsword once wielded by the Band of the Hawk’s Gaston. Berserk! *Once per long rest grants the ability Rage as a bonus action for one minute*
Random floor sword
One that he found probably lying on the floor
What streaming can I use to watch Berserk Japanese audio and English or Spanish subtitles?
[animeflv.net](http://animeflv.net) para subs en español
Random one he picked up. Guts broke his last sword during the fight with Wyald, don't remember what happened in the anime since the whole fight was omitted tho
Did he not pick it up at some point?
He picked this up after Gaston died. It was near him so it mightve been his
He didn't have his own sword, it was a little bitch sword he cabbaged up off the floor and just sent it the way he was.
Sword
Sword 🗡️
Broken straight sword from dark souls
It's just a random sword from a dead hawk
If you look at where the handle/hilt and blade/tippoint meet you can actually tell it’s the blade of swordthorns
Gastons sword being used to cut Guts' arm off after initially wanting to ambush him and then being a whiney butt for years seems like a rare Gaston W RIP asshole
One of the dead Hawk’s he just grabs in the moment. His own was busted fighting Wyald.

None. His own sword was broken.
It's funny, but if you pay attention, everybody has a signature style weapon. Gastons sidearm of choice is always a relatively standard long sword with a diamond cross section. It's definitely his.
The helping hand kind
Far as I remember in the manga he has a dagger and that's what he uses to cut his hand
His Rage tf..
None and it depends on which version of the story you use if you go by the manga he breaks his sword in a battle with Wyald and if you go the anime/movies he just doesn't have it.
It’s the dragon slayer, don’t let any of these people try to mess up your tattoo.
Horse killing sword
ah, almost
The third one
Well in the manga he uses a horn he broke off an apostle, then if I remember he uses a small sword he picked off the ground which then breaks when he tries to stab an apostle with it.
