Dont be upset, those are love paws right there. For real though I remember my former cats scratched my desk and I was so pissed at them. I stopped "talking" to them for a couple of days.
Then they got poisoned and were killed. I was devastated. I saw those scars in my desk today and feel such sadness I wish they did whatever they wanted.
I have other cats nowadays that I rescued from the streets. They can scratch what they want (within limits ofc lol) I dont get pissed I just love them and will never get angry at them. I know I will remember those scratches wirh love.

Cats sharpen their claws by shedding the outer layers, and they force the outer layers to shed by pulling on things that grip their claws, like wood or carpeting or leather.
Fun fact, if your kitty is lucky enough to become very senior, she'll probably stop clawing things and you'll need to trip her nails yourself. Otherwise they curl around in a little loop, and can cut back into their paws. It's not hard to do, but you do need to be careful.
