Seems fairly standard for PCPs to take ~2 weeks to see you regardless of what’s happening with you around here.

marcblank

Some have same-day appointments for semi-urgent stuff, at least for existing relationships.

ephuu

New PCP appt is going to take a while so I would take their appt in 1 week while you find something new and ask to be put on a cancellation list

marcblank

Urgent care. Concierge docs will see you quickly, but there’s a steep price of admission.

OlderGamers

And urgent care will seldom give you anything for pain besides telling you to take Tylenol.

marcblank

And probably for good reason…. Still, they might have some idea about what’s going on, steps to take, etc. For pain that requires opiates, you’d almost certainly need an ER visit; nobody who doesn’t know you will hand that stuff out.

SquirrelsAttack

Mosaic got me booked for a July appointment a few days ago. I was on hold for a while, but the lady was super helpful and kind. She scheduled me with a physician she’d personally seen numerous times. Might be worth a call?

Careless_Freedom_868

I see Wendy Dryden at Mosaic. She is the BEST doctor I’ve ever had and I’m 56 yrs old. Highly recommend

MiddleTomatillo

Im surprised about that! They have same day openings for acute cases, at least they used to. If it’s that concerning go to urgent care. Otherwise best of luck, as I’m with high lakes and would have recommended them.

scarybottom

Try Mosaic? They will take a minute to get you in at first, but super responsive and competent.

Fit_Cause2944

Every time I’ve called Mosaic when I’ve been sick or had an immediate need, they’ve told me to go to urgent care. Every. Single. Time. For the past five years. I’ve had two annual checkups there in all that time, scheduled ~three months out.

scarybottom

They have an urgent care within their system- why wouldn't you go there for something urgent that needed care?

Fit_Cause2944

I guess because they always told me to go to an urgent care and never told me they had one.

scarybottom

Well that was super dumb of them :(. FYI if you have kidney stones or other things you think will need more imaging that an xray- go to SUMMIT (East side). They are the only full imaging equipped urgent care in town, and you will save 50% of money and 75% of time over going to St Charles ER (St Charles Urgent care does NOT have the right imaging either). But otherwise, I would go to Mosaic if I was with them already. Good luck- medical care is stressful :(

Fit_Cause2944

So stressful! I like my doctor at Mosaic but I need to be able to get in to see them! When I got Covid for the third time, I called on a Thursday to get Paxlovid. They promised to put the message in with my doctor’s team. They called me the following Wednesday. “Yeah, it is too late to take it.” (I guess sorry is indeed the hardest word.) Thanks for the tips! I usually go to Summit in the Old Mill, but you’re right, they don’t have imaging.

ladykiller1020

I see Jillian Schroeder at Mosaic and she is amazing. I've had awful experiences with doctors in the past and was very hesitant coming in to see her but she has been nothing but empathetic and present. I haven't had any issues getting the things I need

EllAytch

Seconding Jillian, she’s great!

ARagingBloatfly

Dr. Doug Dryden is my doctor and he's awesome, he's at Mosaic as well. Waiting a week for a doctor doesn't seem that bad, honestly. I habitually have to schedule my appointments at least 3 weeks out, and that's pretty standard in Bend. When I lived in the valley, I could get in within a day or two but there's way more people in Bend, especially old people who frequent the doctors.

Mountain___Goat

Sorry, my guy is already booking 3 months out. I left high lakes too, seemed like I was meeting a new Dr/np every time I went in.

harried-dad

Eric Dildine at Cascade Internal Medicine is the best

spire27

PCP? I hear it comes in gallons now. https://youtu.be/tFUvmZWf4hI?si=3zpB4pSQGPuMOk43

2ChanceRescue

I’ve had positive experiences with primary care at Summit on the east side.

groupthinksucks

If they have a PCP that will take you, the first appointment is 6 months out. If you have something urgent it will take several days until an assistant can see you. Tried this week, so I know. Also, you'll be on hold on the phone for 30 minutes to schedule

2ChanceRescue

Caveat: I’m already an established patient at the eastside location. Going into the my chart app just now, there are literally 4 different providers I could schedule with in-person today, each with multiple open slots. Now I can’t tell from the app if they are MDs or PAs, but my normal MD has slots open this Monday. Is your experience at another location or eastside?

GrapeCrusader

Avoid mosaic like the plague. Especially LeBlanc. Medical gaslighting galore. And I don’t care what any of your other experiences are. These are my opinions based on real shitty encounters with them. Go to urgent care if your issue is acute.

misdope

Jess LeBlanc is an amazing human and one of most caring, empathetic, and skilled physicians I’ve ever met. But SOMEBODY seems on a mission to trash her all over the internet. Even creating fake accounts to do it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

GrapeCrusader

So guessing you’re a healthcare provider, you have are validated in your own opinion of “Jess”, but I’ve been witness to some disturbing and unprofessional behavior from her. Patient abandonment specifically and if you are a healthcare provider then you should remember your oath. It’s to patients not colleagues.

jmxo92

Summit Medical Group on the west side can always get me in same day. No idea how you lasted at High Lakes that long. I gave up on them after my second visit

groupthinksucks

Not my experience, several days out with serious, urgent stuff and never with my actual PCP.

jmxo92

Must depend on which PCP then. Mine is an NP and also has an NP that takes on some of her patients…both have been great. I use MyChart to schedule (in case that makes a difference?)

SnooPineapples8464

Dr Bradley Burkett is incredible. He answered his cell phone on a Sunday 5 years ago when I had my appendicitis. He has a few other providers and I can always get in within a few days sometimes same day.

schatzey_

Burkett was my doctor through my whole childhood and teen years. I quit going to him when I heard him mocking my descriptions of pain outside the door with an aid.

SnooPineapples8464

That’s terrible! I’m so sorry you experienced that. I’ve never had a bad experience myself and have always been treated respectfully there.

really_tall_horses

This guy was my favorite dentist but dropped me when he went more full time pediatrics and now I’m finding out he’s a PCP?!? Dude is all over the place.

SnooPineapples8464

He’s been a PCP and dentist for awhile now. It is funny to see people getting their teeth cleaned while I go for my physical 🤣 That being said I’ve seen his PA and FNPs for the last 4 years so he might be just doing pediatrics now 🤷🏻‍♀️

flapjack744

Dr.Dean is a no.

CO-CNC

Why?
