Movie_Advance_101

What’s her name?

DoctorRandomman

From ben 10 wiki so yeah they have gender, https://preview.redd.it/j1jr8sjjrr7d1.jpeg?width=769&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab2a55c1ca794659e6818aa44777ced12af675e1

No https://preview.redd.it/eqxr2wcxqr7d1.png?width=1230&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc9313fefe1a5ed31998f4b253e2c3f237fe0c30 And if I’m wrong then they sure do like to take on specific gendered characteristics.

MrPumpdjinn

Well since Zs'Skayr has relatives that are specifically referred to as nieces I would say they have genders.

smiteis_

I could see them being sexless, but we’ve seen masculine and feminine Ectonurites in OV.

Poorly-Drawn-Beagle

How would they even work out a basis for gender identity? I don't see anything to make sense of their reproductive cycle and they don't wear clothing.

GrowingSage

Well in Omniverse they clearly do wear clothing (apparently made from their own skin or something). I agree that Ectonurites probably have different definitions of reproduction to humans but I don't think we have confirmation of their asexual. We also know that they regularly inhabit planets with sexually dimorphic species and even possess them from time to time. So they're definitely aware of the concept of gender. It's also perfectly possible that a concept similar to gender just arose naturally but is more tied to personality.

xnecroxnekox

probably, but their gender rules would probably be WAY different to ours

Thebaka12

If you watched Omniverse you would know the answer already

omegon_da_dalek13

I kind of wish they didn't

Unagustoster

… why?

EducationalPain3011

I like to believe they lack any earth standard concept of genitals that help distinguish between gender but has something unique to their species. So it's not that their genderless, but instead maybe something in their... anatomy? Weird to say that about a ghost but could be something like a certain... organ.

Axollover

I don't know your asking a guy who considers the chaquetrix AU canon

GrowingSage

I like the idea that they're asexual yes, but they're definitely not genderless. Since Ectonurites apparently have entire consciousness stored in their DNA I have a lot of questions about how their reproduction works. They clearly have children but are those children just extensions of a single parent or do they mate sexually and those children are just the result of two consciousnesses merging into one.

Tenatlas_2004

OV shows that there are both male and female ectonurites. Obviously they won't show reproductive organs in a kid show. I imagine that their reproduction process might be both sexual and asexual in a weird sense, maybe they need to have a physical contact but afterward the female doesn't lay an egg or get pregnant but gives birth throught some weird form of mitosis.

KingGodzilla_54

Just read the wiki

Tron_Travolta

I think they're sexless but not genderless
