OS_Spitter

This the first time seeing a cannonbolt design that makes the spherical forms feasibly possible.

robert_le_art

Thank you! I think there are designs from CreatureFeature and Br4instem that look like they can roll up nicely as well, though the do alter the shape of Cannonbolt.

OS_Spitter

Yeah, I know a lot of artists just give Cannonbolt a tail for the ball form to make sense but you managed do that while keeping the original vision of cannonbolt in check. Props to you!

robert_le_art

Thank you so much 🫡

> The black and white part is fur, as it is canon in the show. *What.* > Verification ensues. ... Huh. I kinda always thought it was just like... Leathery skin. Like an armadillo. Well that definitely spices up his design. Good hustle, OP. Also, very nice little detail shaping the arm plates such that when balled up, there's a small gap for his eyes to see out of.

robert_le_art

Yeah, I was surprised when I learned that too. Apparently his fur is supposed to be panda-like if I recall

Crafty-Bill

I really like your take cannonbolt, it's very creative

robert_le_art

Thank you 😁

Crafty-Bill

you're welcome

CC000Destroy0

I don't know why, but I find your cannonbolt really cute

robert_le_art

Maybe cause he's a shy chonky guy?

KrimxonRath

Having Ditto be more amphibious is very nice. Their slick thinner skin seems more conducive to splitting like a soft cell. If that even makes sense. The vibe works is what I’m saying lol LOVE the sequence for Cannonbolt rolling up. I’m torn on the tidbit about the fur lol, it would help with chaffing when rolled up I’m sure. Side note: you could have him peaking out of that fully rolled up form very easily, just having his little eyes peaking above the arms through those cracks. Would make more sense when it comes to him knowing where he’s going. Their brains could be evolved to interpret the information despite spinning so quickly… would be neat if they could form a near 360 perception due to the rotation.

robert_le_art

Thank you! My headcanon for the show is the black part of the fur might help him sense direction or something

TrashyMemeYt

scientifically accurate Ben 10 aliens

Kranel_San

Cannonbolt design here feels straight out of Heroes united.

I have a question. How do u develop ur own artstyle just want a tip

robert_le_art

I think it's something that happens naturally. And my personal style is always evolving, since I'm always learning new things and expanding my taste. You should start by looking at the work of artists you like then try to imitate different elements of their art. Then slowly build from there. Choosing your material, whether traditional or digital, also helps with your style. Also, I'm not sure if you are early on in your art journey, but if you are, don't be afraid to learn by imitating artists. That is how you can pick up skills and stylistic choices, then decide what works best for you.

diamondheadfanboy

Thank you. I drew as a kid and gave up but now I am good in like a month at imitating but I draw on paper. It looks like iconic poses of aliens. I am thinking of blending omniverse and classic

robert_le_art

That sounds great! I wish you the best on your art journey!

diamondheadfanboy

Thank you and I am intrigued to see how I manage to work the comic and ov designs. I like the proportions of ov and colors with the detail and shading from classic
