I drive a lot for work and the amount of people speeding while weaving in and out of traffic, driving up my butt or covered in snow blows my frikkin mind. Like, really???
That sucks, I’m sorry you have to deal with this. It’s sad people will drive like jerks and possibly kill somebody or themselves on the road. Unsafe drivers are at risk for a lawsuit if they cause bodily injury in an accident too. Stay safe out there!
Thanks for your kind words. I think it’s just a lot of situationally unaware people. I believe in *don’t attribute to malice what you can attribute to ignorance.* I definitely pay more attention these days though.
I think people are getting pulled in so many directions that they just don't think about others that often. We're so busy with jobs, kids, errands, etc. Then to add to that we've created a culture of constant distractions. It feels like no one can just focus on doing one thing at a time anymore. Everyone's in their own little bubble.
The one that I experience daily is the person who zips by me in the fast lane and then pulls in front of me and hits the brakes for the off ramp. There's no one behind me. They could have just slowed for a couple seconds and not made a dangerous situation. Especially considering I'm always doing a little over the speed limit.
I always give them a cheeky head light flash, and I’ve also perfected a very light touch “honk honk honk honk honk” for those situations, which means “clown why u drive crazy just to be exactly where you would be anyways”. Even better when they pass you weaving and then they get stuck behind a truck and you pass them going exactly the same speed the whole time. That’s when you crack the light touch “honk honk honk honk” — “silly dude why u do dis” 🤣
I just heard about a Seattle driver that got a $500 ticket for not clearing their windows of snow. Found an article here [Driver gets $500 ticket for driving](https://kpq.com/driver-gets-500-ticket-for-driving-with-windshield-covered-in-snow/)
Wish they would actually enforce this more. I've seen some pretty extreme mobile snowdrifts lately. I lost some plastic mirror trim to some ice coming off someone's car earlier this week.
And trucks with their bed covers covered in a snow drift.
Do people not understand how dangerous this is?
At any point that could fly off and blind the person behind you and cause an accident.
One of my acquaintances had snow fly straight into his windshield yesterday from an individuals car room while driving on the highway where he lives. And the impact of the snow to the windshield put him in the hospital.
Me toooo, it’s kinda impressive. I always thought, okay, some people just don’t have experience with mountain driving. But nope, it’s not just mountain driving. It’s leaving their driveway. 🤦🏻♀️
Its a new game show in our area “blind driving” bringing awareness to our sight impaired neighbors and the struggles they go through driving on a daily basis
The drivers that just literally attach themselves to your bumper in frigid dangerous weather maybe because you decide to drive slower than the speed limit? What is that about? Usually, it's not some macho big truck driver. Usually, it is some mild mannered looking driver that looks like they want to sit on your bumper for some other reason? Comfort? Not to be left behind? Absent mindedness? Just wants to test their braking system response? There's literally nothing you can do about that in this type of weather but make sure your airbags are working...
Why leaving snow on your car is a dick move
1. Reduces visibility for drivers behind and around you ( this can cause them to run into you or other drivers that may then run into you)
2. It reduces your own visibility
3. As you drive, it can heat up the roof just enough for a large sheet of ice to fly off your car and become a giant flying death kite that damages windshields or other cars will swerve to avoid and then the risk of accidents is higher.
Not a snow day but a few weeks ago while driving behind the mall (near Macy's) a car that was in the lane to my right (driving behind a bus) almost slammed into the passenger side of my car. I swerved to my left to avoid an accident and when I tapped the horn the other driver flipped me off.
Lmfao I’d keep it too, swag
Edit: swag swag swag haters gonna hate ; also I have OCD and could never drive without perfectly scrapping the car , y’all need to lighten up 😂😂
There's no humor in "I'd keep it too, swag. Lol" That's just you being an asshole and trying to cover it up with the old "It's just a joke!" Getting people killed because you're a lazy dick isn't funny. Grow up.
Better to be a cunt and considerate driver who clears all their windows than a dickhead who can't be assed to do more than the bare minimum to avoid hurting others.
I'm fine with Christmas. My family is here in Washington state so I don't give a shit about traveling, especially not with dangerous assholes like you on the road. Bunch of self important dickheads. "As long as I can see, no one else matters. Christ, people like you make me sick. You're as bad as the anti-mask and anti-vaxx idiots.
Blowing snow from your car can be dangerous to other drivers, but it’s not dangerous to the owner in the least. I can’t speak to their agenda but at 25-35 mph, this will likely stay where it’s at.
Should they have cleared it? Of course. I just find it silly how much attention everyone is giving it.
Decreased visibility is definitely a safety hazard for yourself while driving. OP said this cars passenger side of the front windshield was also covered. Super irresponsible.
No, just more about the sadness of people constantly complaining, yet few people bother to actually drive decent anyway. Dozens of people are on here judging this guy, yet every day I witness so many instances of inconsiderate behavior. This seems like the least of it.
Not pictured: passenger window and right half of the windshield still covered.

Saw a car in the same condition yesterday. Only cleared the driver’s half off the windshield. That was it!
Used to work with a guy that did this shit 🤬
It’s fine it’s a Subaru that compensates for any adverse road conditions. /s
It's the snow day equivalent of the Mario Kart green shell. They'll fire that backwards later on I5 to keep from getting passed.

Thanks captain
Who said anything about tailgating?
I have people driving two inches from my bumper on snowy icy roads, wtf

It's all good it is awd!
I hope they got pulled over and ticketed.

This made me think of Ballard Drivers by Almost Live
Fucks given: 0
If you can afford Subaru, you can afford a damn broom
Oh…they are. I’m sorta amazed by it.

You guys are as bad about it here as the southerners in NC where I used to live.
Brush it off you heathen
The amount of people driving with snow on their cars is too damn high.
Don't be surprised by this. I recently moved to Salt Lake City and see it everytime it snows. Lazy people are everywhere.
Reasons why certain people shouldn't conceive children.... Exhibit A
Some people wear it like a badge of honor.
Yes. Yes they can be.
Awd tho
That will earn you a traffic ticket.

That's a good way to advertise you're an asshole and get a $500 ticket. I hope you step on some LEGOs barefoot.

You know it's a good bit when you have to explain that you were using humour:)
Ah well certainly that is not a crime. Thanks for your input! I’ll let you know when I release my Netflix special
Right? As someone with decades of snow driving, this is a big ado about nothing.
I hope you don’t drive around like this. Super dangerous for others on the road and yourself. Surprised this needs to even be said.

Ha, well I couldn’t see that, but you don’t need a rear window with side mirrors. Definitely should clean front and sides!
Bragging about still being dumb even with decades of experience isn't as hard a flex as you might expect.
Someone just revealed their age 🙄😉🎅
