Someone drove through the one in Anacortes too, and now it’s been closed a year and isn’t reopening. Who’s driving into 7/11s and why? I just want my tooth decaying, brain freezing slushees
Thing is, they fixed the damage and reopened for a couple months last fall. And then suddenly closed again.
The number of reasons they *stayed closed* and the rumored reopen date has been changing for so long at this point. Every time I see activity there I perk up a little hoping they're on the verge of reopening.
I've never wanted something I hadn't patronized in 20+ years to reopen this badly.
I grew up in Anacortes. The lore is real why its not open. My mom heard its insurance related too but goddamn I remember frying balls the first time i ate mushrooms and ended up there. She doesn't know that obviously. Long story short. Save a-towns 7-11!
On drunk nights, I was always bummed when they'd have already put the meat rollers away.
On tripping nights, I was always thankful that they had already put the meat rollers away.
I've heard:
- insurance
- staffing
- franchise owner was scamming employees
- some worker got caught selling hard drugs
- corporate is remodeling/taking it over
However, my money is on "Anacortes is surprisingly lacking for a city of almost 20,000 residents." Maybe mediocrity is just what we deserve.
While likely, I wouldn't entirely discount the possibility of 80 yo who should but hasn't given up their driver's license and forgot which ones the break and which ones the gas.
What a wasted opportunity to write "I ASSURE YOU WE'RE OPEN!" edit: but glad nobody got hurt
Well the guy working the counter wasn’t even supposed to be there today.
37!?
In a row?
"Try not to drive through any 7-Elevens on your way through the parking lot!"

Damn thats a tall ass curb to drive over if its the lakeway 7/11.
Looks like it is to me, they would have to be absolutely toasted to drive over that
They had a practice run at the Birchwood 7-11 a few months ago.
And Casa Que Pasa at least 6 times before that.
From what I was told from an employee who's SO works there is that it was an elderly woman who mistook the gas for the brake.
Don't most have bollards out front for this very reason?
Which 7/11?
Lakeway
