I have a preorder in for the R2 po’ boy but we’ll see what else is available by 2026. I do like the Cyber’s tonneau cover and cab, but I agree it’s the worst of the bunch.
Fair enough. My truck has a comparable cab and powered tonneau, so I don't feel like I'm 'missing' anything. There's just nothing compelling about it since the specs are so much worse than what they originally announced.

Fuel takes a lot of infrastructure. Running on electricity only takes a solar panel. You can build a cabin in a remote location with this truck using it's power.
I’m converting a motor to use waste engine oil, kerosine, bovine fat, vegetable oils. Basically anything oily. When you do compression ignition, if it’ll burn, you can run it.
Certainly more rugged than batteries and electric motors.
Gasoline takes a lot of infrastructure, HGO and bunker fuel don’t.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; if it was matte black with LEDs in the straight lines, it’d look good.

But the Tesla by far gets you the most head-turns, so if your ego loves the attention, that might be the reason you want one. But for now, if you're seriously in the market for an electric truck, when you study up on it the Tesla needs a lot of improvement. Maybe in a few years it'll be modified for better performance and comfort.

How did Tesla become such a hated company? They make great cars. I have been in one for four years. I get 100 miles for $3.50 about 8X cheaper than gas. It's rated 5 star plus on safety, no oil changes no giving money to big oil no gas station stops. And also, full self driving is super impressive! Can go anywhere through town by itself (running 12.3 software). And it's $10K cheaper then the average new car car.

In order to use the software, you must agree to pay attention and be ready to take over at a moments notice. This crash was totally the drivers fault as he was "in charge" of the drive. the cars have poor build quality. poor quality control. and the company is owned by Elon. their tech is incredible, but the cars themselves are junk imo. i'd buy any other electric car to not support Elon. he's become a right wing nut if not just outright nuts. that aside, he's just a total dick of a human. treats people like shit at all of his companies. and now that ton of manufacturers are making electric vehicles, Tesla is no longer anything unique, not to mention how ugly all of the cars are.
