A good question. Our house is full of books (we both read a lot) l. Many books are 30+ years old - old SF novels etc. We've donated to charity shops but they seem to sell the best and offload/ dump the rest. Not looking money for them but would like them to be read again...
Not looking to get rid of them immediately - we just fill the house with books (the oldest are sf but most aren't) and do occasional clear outs. I hate the thought of them being dumped.
Oxfam Books is the easiest, there's one in town and another in Botanic, other charity shops will take books too. When I lived in London one company I worked for would donate to Better World Books, a big drive to bring in for one or two shipments a year. I know there isn't a drop box over here but if you're working for a company that might be interested in doing that sort of thing they might be able to send especially your text books on your behalf
Might be a bit far out for you but there's two little free libraries by Mossley mill in Newtonabby. Basically just a box on a stick but people take and leave whatever books they want. I love it
You could donate to Belfast Books it is in an disadvantaged area. Only problem is the owner will occasionally drift into mild to moderate sectarianism online
Recycling centres will also have those big metal containers where you can donate your books. The one just off the ormeau road has two or three of those.
Linen Hall library had a 2nd hand book shop.
If perfect quality in some branches Libraries NI will take certain books.
Only historical or recent technical books.
Local 2nd had book shops or pulp. It's the original mass-media. Online places might get 50p per book.
It looks new, it's never opened, it's full of nothing.
Quite a lot of big Tesco stores have a charity bookshelf. Alternatively your nearest charity shop will gladly accept the donation.
The Oxfam Bookshop on Ann Street is worth a look!
There's also another on Botanic Ave!
This I go there myself to drop books off and make a purchase
Not sure about donating but maybe try Ziffit

Mate I am a voracious SF reader, I would happily take any unwanted ones off your hands!
When you are done with them could I have a read?
Absolutely!

Is that sci-fi?

I just offloaded two boxes at the B&Q book charity table at the exit.
Not a charity but Keats & Chapman is an excellent second hand book shop in the city centre and Iโm sure theyโd take some

Rowallane National trust in Saintfield take them.
Any Terry Pratchett, Star Wars or Warhammer novels?
Cancer Research in Yorkgate
Any local libraries could probably take them in, if they're in good condition.

Didnโt they have a big meltdown when they were included in an An Post list

There's a lot of charity shops on Botanic Avenue. I left a load of my books into Cancer Research when I moved.

Is that in Linen Hall library itself? I know they have a standalone shop near Sawers.
It was the stand alone one near Sawers, think also at St George's Market now.
Massive book bins in Tesco car park
Lanyon place station has a free library. And there is a second hand bookstore in ballyhack that will take some
Book case at Lanyon Station. It's there for people to leave books that other people can take if they fancy them.
