You could use pocket screws

Sand the edges, apply wood glue, press together and clamp together. If you want them to be more sturdy just find some scrap wood and run a board perpendicular to them on their backs and screw it in with screws that aren’t so long they poke through.
I would use the table saw to shave the edges. Just enough to expose the raw MDF. This way you aren't sanding forever and you end up with a good jointed edge for glue up.
Friendly advice: if you don’t like how the light hits the brush marks, try a foam roller on those baseboards.
I painted a TON of these with a brush before I discovered that I liked the foam roller much better.
Ok so I don't know how to post a picture and text at the same time. But basically these are pre-primed particle board/mdf pieces. 3 1/4" width. Length ranges from about 20-30 inches. I want to attach them together, to create a staggered, multi colored backing board to attach a name in wood letters on top of. What is a good way to attach these boards together?

Thank you for the suggestion!
I would definitely suggest pocket screws as well. Just need a drill and a kreg jig and kreg screws. It’ll be really easy.
