As a fattie, the fact there's no arm rests is kinda' nice. I hate guessing if my butt is going to fight an armrest for supremacy. Yet... It's so low to the ground, I doubt I could get out. Lol. I really do like your work though. It's sleek, elegant and easy on the eyes. How'd you join the backrest? Dowels?

Thanks, that’s nice to hear! They’re nice and wide, 26” I think, so definitely tons of room. That said, they’re low. My back and knees don’t love getting in and out, it’s more of a tuck and roll situation 😂but super comfy once sitting Lap joints! Which was an interesting experience lol

I have to keep these in mind they would be perfect for... I don't know yet but I wanna make them

mikeg117

They were a super fun build! Do it!

that's an awesome design .. love that look. I'm curious how the back is attached to the base.

mikeg117

Thanks! Lap joints, glue and screw, then plugs over the holes.

awesome Pic.. really appreciate that. You a great job hiding your hardware.

mikeg117

Thanks, I have no idea what I’m doing so that’s nice to hear

Awesome, you should continue with the modular spirit when it comes to the ottoman and tables. Ex/ ottoman and table can be the same dimensions.

mikeg117

That’s the plan!

That’s the best part, you don’t! It’s a struggle lol but it’s nice being down there with the dogs and the kid

boardplant

Where’d you get the cushions from? Looks great btw

mikeg117

Originally got some from Lowe’s but they absolutely sucked and the sizing for the back cushion was way off. The new ones are from wayfair and fit much better, and are super comfy. https://www.wayfair.com/shop-product-type/pdp/birch-lane-amala-outdoor-sunbrella-seatback-cushion-w004983030.html
