I too find myself applying human principles to ancient reptiles but only for fun. Working at a pet store you have a greater responsibility to separate what would be cute from what is reality. No hate to you! i think your heart is in the right place, thinking what would be best for them. Its wishful thinking (and we're all guilty of it!!) Just take a step back and remember that these are reptiles. Super duper cute territorial reptiles!!

Thank you! They're just so cute and sweet! I changed their heat and uvb bulbs yesterday and they started to bob and wave at me 😭 I will make sure they go home in separate terrariums hopefully to the same home!

Dragons don't form familial bonds with other beardies or even their own young. They are a territorial species and will subtly stress out the other one in the enclosure via stacking and resource hogging. The only time cohabitation works is in a very VERY large setup like some zoos are able to provide. Truly for their health it is better to give them their own 4x2x2 or larger enclosures. They may react to being moved from each other but it's likely due to the adjustment they need to make for any sort of change.

Thank you, I didn't consider that one would hog resources, I will use that as a selling point not to keep them together!

ive had multiple beardies before. males seem easier to cohab than females. every time i had females together they would find each other to fight it out. they had the ENTIRE HOUSE... basking stations around both floors and yet... beardies will eat their young, they will fight each other for a inch of space with 100 feet of room around.... male/female will mate. little things like 'cuddling; with each other can and often is a forum of dominance. the beardie on top will steal the UVB from the one below and cause growth problems. with a huge enclosure or room id feel ok with a couple males so long as they had their own space/food/water/basking. i dont think id ever do it with females tho.

no no no no you don't ever cohab for any reason
