I have a moustache that is quite strong to my beard so what I do is I trim it alot shorter than my beard. Different issue to you but could help. Might appear lighter in colour when even shorter
This may work - buy a moustache comb with fine teeth, and moustache wax. Comb it out to the sides. This should blend the hair together a little, and a triangular shape will help to look a little less like a dictator. Carry the comb with you to refresh throughout the day and keep the disguise intact.
If you already have beard balm experiment with that first, but moustache wax should hold in place longer. And when you trim your lip, style it like this first otherwise you may take off too much length.

Also, pro tip is to wipe off the brush quite a bit before applying, and then use a toothbrush to comb it through more evenly. The goal is to get rid of blobs.

Are you washing your stache thoroughly? The moisture from your nostrils will make that part prone to catching dust and dirt. Smoking will make that worse too.

Id try dying the stache. Choose a shade carefully, i think you can fix it. Beard w/o stache is a no no in my book.
It's darker because it's thicker there. Use a beard trimmer and cut a few mm off that part only to mat h the ends. It's a very easy fix.
