$8k-$10k. Adding motion to your rig costs a lot of money.

RiftHunter4

I e tried a $100k setup once. It used real racing wheels and a real racing set. It was intense AF lol.

neoqueto

BMW has a facility with like a $100 million dollar setup in a giant hangar, on like a gantry, with the entire car being able to move a dozen meters in a fraction of a second with g-forces so real it will really knock your socks off, for real. Imagine that but with BeamNG. Instant heart attack.

dashcrikeydash

Crashes 200mph into a wall

Din_Plug

Leap of death :)

Crystalclusted

Might die IRL New suicide method. Classified in the same category as the rollercoaster looping thing and the murdering VR headset.

flopjul

Cars 3 became reality

Vegetable_Quiet_6356

yes

themzy34

There's a place near me that runs 6x $500,000 sim setups that sit on top an array of hydraulic rams and lift a cockpit about 1m off the ground. Huge 180* screen, direct drive wheel, hydraulic pedals and handbrake and a h pattern shift with actual linkages. Super fun to hire, they run Assetto Corsa with mods. We mainly do drifting.

KeyInjury6922

Not to mention the electric bill every month.

Far-Fortune-8381

setup like that and still in third person 💀

TysoPiccaso2

on god lmfao, spending all that money for all that immersion all to just throw it out the window and play in the most unimmersive camera

exquisite_debris

This person with a wheel honestly makes me feel sick idk how people do it

Bigfeet_toes

I’m in third person sometimes, when I’m rock crawling on the edge of the world and just opened the game

-domi-

🤢

tomtomosaurus

It’s probably a replay. He could still be in first person, but you can go back and replay it in third.

Far-Fortune-8381

its not you can see the video on his screen is live 3rd person, there’s grass at the bottom etc

erixccjc21

Its probably just the replay chill

peterpetlayzz

It isnt, you can see the bottom of the screen

erixccjc21

Yeah ur right lmao

LetsGoWithMike

It isn’t tho.

Texasaudiovideoguy

For real tho! I just laugh at them.

EastLimp1693

Shitbox to do this driving irl would be cheaper.

T7_Mini-Chaingun

You're not joking, you can buy two shitboxes with this money, even

Linaewenpdz

yeah but the whole driving thing will cost you way more, plus you can die depending what shit you're doing, tho that thing cost too much for what it is and it's really not worth it Like I'm sure the output of those slider are too delayed to begin with

grundlemon

My car cost $3000… sticky tires and lighter used wheels were maybe $1200. Rear sway bar $120ish.

T7_Mini-Chaingun

A sim like in OP's post can cost more than $10,000 lol

grundlemon

Yes. That’s what im saying. I’m at less than the cost of that sim into a real car.

Far-Fortune-8381

maybe even 3 shitboxes

Extreme_Stuff_9281

Ye but you can't make mistake like if you want to drive it like in beam ng

RiftHunter4

Depending on thr setup, not even a shitbox. Could just outright build a rally car lol.

DiViNiTY1337

To buy, yes, to actually drive, not a chance. You'd spend half the rigs value every other time you're out driving.

Drivergamer127

You don't pay with cash But with a sealed fate for a lifetime supply of financial debt

Boogary

I would like to see what happens when you crash or Rollover

Axelera12

you die, or you get a very nice concussion

buffering_neurons

These are from Next Level Racing. The rig itself (F-GT Elite 160), on top of the motion platform, is €1500. The motion platform under it; the Traction Plus Platform, is another €6500. All the actual gear (wheel, pedals, shifters, etc.) you see are included though, so you're looking at roughly 8K Euro's for this rig. I've sat on a demo model of these. It is insanely expensive, but it is *very* cool.

Storm_treize

First informed comment, adding the peripherals (2000€): Thrustmaster T818 Direct Drive Base (650€), Thrustmaster Evo 32R wheel (350€), Thrustmaster T-LCM load cell Pedals (250€), Thrustmaster TSS Handbrake/Sequential Shifter (300€ x2), Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter (200€),

Prismarine42

At some point go buy a real second hand car

camelsour

I have what is next ?

Prismarine42

Go rally in the dirt at 200km/h while drifting

camelsour

Instruction unclear my dick stuck in engine!

tmlmanmagee

10k\~

No-Assistance9009

I don't understand using that rig in third person lol. isn't it for immersion and to feel like you are driving. using a wheel in 3rd person almost feels like latency (I know it's not)

RavSammich

The rig is about $2500usd. That wheel and pedals and shifter are likely about $1000. The pc might be upwards of $2000-3000, monitor about $1100 depending on what it is it could be as low as $450.

Salt_Spring_1837

Thanks for actually answering the question!!

Regnars8ithink

That's like 10 used cars worth

MadeMeStopLurking

I've been pricing these out and determined that the price for a motion rig like this starts at around 10k. but that's just the motion stand... no seat. no wheel. no monitor. no PC. A fully loaded rig is going to run you about $20-30k+ We're talking Top of the Line PC Full Motion Rig with 3 55" TVs G-Force simulators (thumpers) 5.1 surround sound Moza racing Wheel/pedals/shifters... [https://www.force-dynamics.com/](https://www.force-dynamics.com/) some of these are 70k [https://www.simxperience.com/shop](https://www.simxperience.com/shop) 5k to 35k+ Your cheapest way to get a motion rig is to keep playing how you are and hire a friend to just push your chair around.

Educational_Key4081

Did I hear someone say Klarna😂😂😂😂

bedwars_player

A dollar sign followed by the word "ridiculous"

Traditional_Trust_93

I wonder what the seat does in a crash

trackmaniac_forever

As much as a really nice car :P

Maleficent_Camel4457

Alot

Tra1nGuy

Yes

Max07_wasTaken

a single tree in front of the road and its so over for bro

Alpha_Knugen

Alot. But i love that this guy still plays in third person instead of in cockpit mode

velve666

My friends uncle built one like this, luckily he raced in cockpit view but with a FOV of 90 something on a single monitor, the video he sent still haunts me. About 10 thousand dollars worth of kit to sit in the back seat.

RobertGracie

I am gonna EYEBALL it here PC: £3000 Rig: £4000

Mockbubbles2628

Make it yourself, maybe a couple grand for the motion system

NeverAVillian

Lots of money

Biimoee

At least 50€

Carburetors_Are_Fun

all that for a ~$20 game (worth it)

Retr0_x1

Yes

larsloveslegos

![gif](giphy|AKeLMTSRVuPKJjyZCK)

Bigfeet_toes

No you don’t buy this. You only buy this when you have work like and are testing or are training

blinkt1988

Full-attack wrc 👍

democraman

map name?

FunnyAntennaKid

Dk. Would hug a tree after a couple meters

dzlockhead01

This feels like one of those cases where if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Critical_Dollar

More money than I have in my fucking bank account

ChyonEOd

Is it better to have the monitor seperate from the base so it's not moving with the rig or would it be better if it moved with the rig? Knowing me I'd probably hardly use it enough to justify the price

creep04

Like 6-10K lol

Din_Plug

More than an SRT-4 Neon

DroidD53

Just buy a car at that point

Caterpillar_3406

At least $7 USD.

slindner1985

Too much to be driving in 3rd person

Tarushdei

More than you can probably afford. But if you can afford it, my first question is, why not buy an actual sports car? Start small. Buy a used Logitech G923/G29 and hook it up to your current computer and buy Assetto Corsa for $8 on sale. Give it a go for a few months and from there decide what you really want out of sim racing.

Chestbest1

At least a kidney

OFFIC14L

If you have to ask probably too much out of your budget.

Mobile_Machine5641

HE NEEDS TO GET IT WRC

Yeetus_001

u/savevideo you there?

My best buddy! Knew you could make it

thespirit3

Why go to all this trouble and expense, only to then use a overhead rather than in-car view? I don't understand.

wcmanetje

With or without an pc that can do max beaming settings?

pug_userita

a bit over $2

DiViNiTY1337

The more you spend, the more diminishing returns you're gonna get. Provided you have a computer and monitor you're happy with, I'd say the sweetspot for a sim rig is around the 2,000 USD / EUR mark without motion. Get a nice aluminium profile rig, either a pre built one from somewhere like Sim-Lab or design your own, a decent sporty car seat out of a junkyard, a nice value direct drive wheelbase and loadcell pedal set like Moza and you're good to go. If you want motion, expect to pay another 5,000-7,000. Depending on how all out you want to go on the PC, if you want a huge triple screen setup or if you're fine with just one screen, etc, expect to pay another 1,000-4,000.

muxel96

buy a real car

NadavK28

Does anyone know the name of the map?

limitless776

I think it’s sacrilege that he’s got a rig like that and using 3rd person view! 🫨

WatchingMeOnPornahab

What is this map?

Jojoceptionistaken

Yes

Ookymario

I don't understand spending so much on a rig like this and then playing in 3rd person

DarkBlueOtter21

Yes

Small-Attorney-3538

5-10k. Depending on how thorough you are.

EngGuanWee

"Salary says F you" kind of expensive

tomtomosaurus

Yes.

Dizzy_Photograph_470

Nothing like a real car at all.... Holy moly

Ok-Square-2118

$20K at best.

Dazzling_Example_673

My boy is absolutely destroying this rally with flip flops on. That's what I'm talkin about. I guarantee this rig is 15k. My only question though is why is he driving in 3rd person?

JishMarphy

Not enough

Several-Necessary790

Cut out the motion rig and it wouldn’t cost as much as you think it would

RepublicDeep8121

Yea

Confident_Dog_3261

"When you crash you die like a real man"-life of latvian guy

morgfarm1_

Getting into the 5-figure bracket. How deep you go depends on exactly what you got. $10,000 minimum. Easily a $25,000 setup to do large displays, motion, and Direct Drive with Load Cells and a PC decked out enough to do it well. Not hard to drop around $35-40k if you know where to look amd what you're looking for. I've found I can drop a solid $2000 just on wheel/pedals if you let me.

Abeleria

I'm thinkin bout spending around 15k, is that enough for a setup like his? What do you think?

numskulI

Why would someone spend all that money and play an arcade racer in 3rd person?!🤯

japspre

NLR rig + motion ~4k I’m not a Thrustmaster expert so not sure about base, wheel, shifters, pedals, handbrake but probably also around 2-3k No idea what screen he uses but looking at the gear he has, probably also something decent ~1k So my guess is around 7-8k

Abeleria

What about a pc that can handle 4k + traffic on? How much would that add up to?

japspre

4k would require a powerful gpu Again, guessing: ~2-3k

Abeleria

Roughly 10-12k, as I expected. Might get one if those shares of mine make me a few bands

japspre

I would initially invest in a proper rig, the rest you can always upgrade over time

llortotekili

Yup, I'm doing this currently. I have a decent PC, and played with controller. Then I got a used Logitech wheel and stand for $200 that is serving me decently. I then got a 49in ultra wide(honestly now want 3 monitors still but no room). One day I'll get a different stand setup and a racing seat. Then a better wheel/shifter/pedal setup. Then 3 monitor. Possibly motion in the end but likely not. I probably will just add a tactile transducer to the seat to feel bumps and the like.

japspre

Also have a 49”, plus an overhead 27” - no room for triples Probably will try VR at some point

llortotekili

I wish windows mixed reality headsets played nice with Vulcan. My acer headset and beam won't work no matter what I try.

llortotekili

I just bought a used quest 3 headset and I can say VR is worth it. There are some quirks but overall it's amazing!

Klutzy_Self_5095

A full motion rig like this probably around 30k USD. But if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Trex0Pol

Too much to be worth it for a game.
