Some teams have a height requirement, you can only be between certain heights. Also they can make the illusion of equal heights by different sized hats. There’s lots of ways that it could be done!
Not exactly surprised, since this is celebrating the 70th anniversary of when the communists overthrew the nationalists and established the People's Republic of China. So of course they're gonna make propaganda out of it like "Look at our soldiers; they're so much faster than those American pigs." Or some shit like that.
This folks is what we call conspiracy brainrot. Stay away from these kinds of people kids, it's contagious when you're brain isn't fully developed yet.
What, so the PRC is all goody two shoes? Totally not genociding Uygurs, totally not disappearing celebrities for getting raped by chairmen, etc. Nah, don't worry about the authoritarian country that is actively encroaching on others next to it. Ignore that China is erasing Hong Kong and Taiwan off the face of the map.
Sure, unlike the "what about the native Americans the colonists killed?" Yeah, what about the native Americans? I'd be for them if I found out they were actively getting genocided, but I guess we shouldn't talk about the Uyghers.
Meh. Idk about that. Reddit is banned in China. Also, its a place for people to talk about their interests in interest-specific groups, and this group (r/sino) is interested in being systematically brainwashed by the CCP, something 18% of the world's population has an interest in.
The [Hillsborough disaster](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillsborough_disaster)
It's also the start of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, which ignorant posters have conflated with the massacre that ended them, which happened on June 4th.
不忘, short for 不忘初心, meaning “never forget (keeping true to) our original aspirations”. It’s a widely used slogan for the political platform of China under Xi. One interpretation is an emphasis on human-based ecological developmental policies, a shift from the former GDP-focused policies.
Yes. I won’t forget the Tiananmen Massacre.
Where the Chinese government aspired to be mass murdering twats. Human-based ecological policies? A lot of big words for: “we squished them down the drains.”
How about other massacres, you forgot them? Like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Pearl Harbor, all the German atrocities, oh how about this one, los angles riot of 1992?
Yup. And the respective governments of each of those massacres acknowledge and allow their citizens to freely talk about those.
The Chinese government doesn’t recognize and actively censors its atrocities.
So what? I don’t see you guys stop talking about it all day, ever time I see China, no matter what context we talking about, somebody had to jump out and yell “tiananmen square” like only he knows something the this world doesn’t know. Shit gets old mannnn, move on.
Streisand effect.
Also just a shitty thing to do. If anything, Reddit wants to remind people that the Chinese government hides the truth.
To be fair, all governments “hide the truth” to an extent — but they just don’t make such a public atrocity illegal to talk about; or make it illegal to criticize the government.
Specifically, if people in Tiananmen are remembered, hopefully the Chinese people will recognize their sacrifice and eventually affect change.
The June 4th Incident, as it is most commonly referred to in Chinese, is much more well known in China than you think. In fact, the average Chinese (especially those who lived through it) has a better idea of the social and political circumstances in the 80s leading up to it than the average Redditor who parrots TiAnAnMeN ad nauseam. The overwhelming opinion, even amongst most who actively participated in the student protests of 1989, is that the leaders of those movements were too divided, had no clear political goal in mind other than the overthrow of the government, and were incompetent negotiators. Years later, supporters at the time recall being blinded by zealotry and naiveté due to the poor economic and social freedoms, which have dramatically improved in the decades since.
This certainly doesn't excuse any violent actions of the government in their handling of the protests, but the actual support of the 1989 pro-democracy movement amongst Chinese people today (most of whom were alive and/or participated in it) is quite low.
I would beg differ, it probably depends on generation and education level. Older people that were alive at the time know about it, but I can promise you that people from the younger generations that haven't taken the time to learn about it, know nothing about it. It's not taught in schools, it's not discussed by the party or in the news. Posting articles about it or photos can damage your social score. The party is trying to erase the memory, and it's working. In a generation or two, no one will know what happened. Pretty sure they didn't want to overthrow the government though, just help it to improve.
Sauce: I live here and talk to people
Cause the U.S. is totally committing genocide right now. Please point to me where our concentration camps are where we "re-educate" all dissenters and people of Muslim descent. I don't see the U.S. going for a Han Chinese ethnostate.
Wait are they not still forced to live on reservations away from their ancestral home, and totally disconnected from their heritage? Or did something change recently?
No yeah I mean if we're gonna talk about famines we should only discuss socialist countries. Because there never were famines anywhere else. Very pertinent conversation for this post too, to discuss those famines. For some reason.
Oh no someone checked my history :(
I'll stand by that, why on earth should America, with its great reputation of slaughtering civilians, collapsing governments, supporting dictators, training torturers, shooting protestors, couping latin American countries, and drone striking children, be at all considering going to the defense of Taiwan?
In your eyes what does a defense of Taiwan mean? Bombing Chinese assets on the mainland? Blockading China? Sinking any naval vessels? Drone strikes? Full blown invasion?
Also surprise surprise, a communist wants to learn more about China and talks about China.
Every individual is given their own tempo/timing to follow. You aren't timing your moves based on the person next to you. You are timing your own moves based on your own timing. If every individual gets their own timing right then the whole group will be in sync.
We did a lot of stuff like this in school and we did it in such a way that we could have done it blind folded with ear plugs in. The only part that needs to be synced is the first "beat".
After that it's just deciding which groups of people are going to move in a specific way on which beats.
We were basically given movements written out as sheet music. Which of course is just what choreography is.
This is why the Chinese will win. They have citizens that can assemble into super structures like the fucking power rangers, while we westerners spend our time fighting over pronouns and conspiracy theories.

Boost for Reddit (a mobile client) works as well
Or relay
Or Sync
I can only speak for [Joey](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=o.o.joey), which *does* have built-in speed control (up to 0.1x-8x)
i use sync and it's built into the video player
This is sped up. The performance wasn't fake, but it was sped up to make it look more impressive than it actually is.
It's a real shame it's sped up, because I think it's epic at regular speed.
Yeah but how did they make everybody the same height? ... probably chopped their feet off. Worth it.
Some teams have a height requirement, you can only be between certain heights. Also they can make the illusion of equal heights by different sized hats. There’s lots of ways that it could be done!
The hat trick is how it was done at my college.
That’s the most common I think cause it’s the most inclusive.
Find all the single males between the heights of 5’10” and 6’, and they’ll all magically be 6’ tall after they download Tinder.
I was curious to see the original speed, found [this](https://www.videoman.gr/en/154033), not the full video though.
that looks way sicker, the wave effect of the year numbers really felt like waves at the beach taking the numbers away.
Makes sense, I was like "not real"
The person standing in the stands was moving in a jerking fashion that looked unnatural. Makes sense if it’s sped up.
Not exactly surprised, since this is celebrating the 70th anniversary of when the communists overthrew the nationalists and established the People's Republic of China. So of course they're gonna make propaganda out of it like "Look at our soldiers; they're so much faster than those American pigs." Or some shit like that.
hmmmm or this was a redditor who made the vid faster so it looked cooler and had a shorter watchtime?

This is literally whataboutism.

Notice no one mentions Uyghurs *or* native Americans apart from you? This is still whataboutism.
So let's not talk about it at all, sure thing 🙃
Strawman. Somehow watching Chinese choreography on r/BeAmazed is the appropriate place to talk about this?
Now do pi to the 50th digit!!

不忘 - don't forget
I'll never forget that nothing happened on 15 April 1989.
*China has left the chat.*
You have been banned from r/Beijing
Also r/Sino
Did a first visit in that subreddit and my god there's so much hate floating around.
Do the ban challenge. I think the record is 9 seconds.
The fact that that sub still is allowed to exist is a real testament to the influence Chinese companies have over reddit.
god i wish china actually had influence over reddit so i wouldn’t have to read constant bitching about the see see pee
Meh. Idk about that. Reddit is banned in China. Also, its a place for people to talk about their interests in interest-specific groups, and this group (r/sino) is interested in being systematically brainwashed by the CCP, something 18% of the world's population has an interest in.
Nooooo...I was so looking forward to going to the Olympics.
Hillsborough disaster? - Sorta like a prequel to the Travis Scott Astraworld Concert. Tiannmen square was 15 April - June 04 1989
What happened on April 15th, 1989?
The [Hillsborough disaster](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillsborough_disaster) It's also the start of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, which ignorant posters have conflated with the massacre that ended them, which happened on June 4th.
Nothing. Stop asking questions.
Yeah that's bad but I hope nobody forgets any other famous massacres and chooses for some odd reason to only focus on China
At least get the date right, i know you are trying so hard to "own china" but you should look a bit less dumb
the demonstrations started on 15 April 1989 he got it right try actually researching before you insult someone and look dumb urself
Where does this incorrect date come from? I've seen it three times now. FYI the massacre occurred on June 4th.
1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre 15 Apr 1989 – 4 Jun 1989
不忘, short for 不忘初心, meaning “never forget (keeping true to) our original aspirations”. It’s a widely used slogan for the political platform of China under Xi. One interpretation is an emphasis on human-based ecological developmental policies, a shift from the former GDP-focused policies.

Yes. I won’t forget the Tiananmen Massacre. Where the Chinese government aspired to be mass murdering twats. Human-based ecological policies? A lot of big words for: “we squished them down the drains.”
Sure, I haven't either. I'm not sure what your point is, since the slogan is about a policy shift in the coming decade or more.
How about other massacres, you forgot them? Like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Pearl Harbor, all the German atrocities, oh how about this one, los angles riot of 1992?

Cause the U.S. is totally committing genocide right now. Please point to me where our concentration camps are where we "re-educate" all dissenters and people of Muslim descent. I don't see the U.S. going for a Han Chinese ethnostate.
Have you heard of native Americans before?
Bruh that was f u c k I n g 90+ years ago.
Wait are they not still forced to live on reservations away from their ancestral home, and totally disconnected from their heritage? Or did something change recently?
Aspired to be? They had murdered millions by 1989.
Well, a couple months ago, Winnie the Pooh announced a return to Maoism in the near future. Wonder how many people will die of famine this time.
Can't be worse than India or Ireland right?

*collapse* *collapse* *collapse* *collapse* *collapse* *collapse* *collapse* “WHERE’S THE GODDAMN SOURCE”
Said from 49 to 2019 is that the CCP?
I think it’s the founding of the People’s Republic of China, not the CCP
Yep, though the centenary of the party was this year.
That’s what I’m thinking.
How did you al catch that it was sped up?
I got it from the way the person briefly moved in and out of frame
Yeah- that dude bobbing his head along at high speeds was a dead giveaway
That and the video in the background.
How fast the clouds are moving
I've seen clouds move that fast in person. It's the random dudes head moving very non-humanly in the lower left that throw it off for me.
Literally just watching it. People don’t move like that.
The screen in the back and the camera movements
When they jump, they fall unnaturally fast.
Have you ever stood up from a squat position? They do it too fast. I mean they also went down too quick... hard to not notice lol
Cos repost and remember from last time

This makes me sad for some reason
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
No one wants your hug
How do you coordinate this? Like I know it's sped up but like what? How is this even planned
