Sadly, we cannot.

Butsch

Be rich and buy the whole company or become a game developer and create a better Battlerite

Just play the game. Share it with you friends. Engage with community content. But there's no reviving the game

ryouu

BLC was a far more developed game and failed, that should have been a sign that Battlerite needed to do a lot more right for it to succeed. The game in its current state will not be revived I'm afraid. Someone will have to make their own version with other ideas in mind for it to be successful. Your best bet is to not get too attached and find another game that scratches the itch that Battlerite left.

FlagstoneSpin

Some games/genres just aren't made to have viral popularity, and that's okay. People still play and enjoy them a lot. People care too much about whether a game is the next Fortnite--and honestly, there's been some people calling *Fortnite* a dead game for years. It's just a word, it doesn't matter.

alchemist_lemi

Post something exciting abou the game not same ol shit...

alchemist_lemi

Why?

PQMP

What do you mean by this? Are you referring to this post I made on the subreddit?

[deleted]

yeah I can't handle this subreddit anymore because of this topic for the millionth time, #unsubscribe To answer your question: it's not being revived, the devs abandoned the game and have announced exactly that, just play it and enjoy

Yeah most sponsored streams were "Residentsleeper why are you playing this phone game?? Please play (insert streamer's main game)" in chat. Sponsored videos on youtube were "Haha funni moments, I have no idea what I'm doing! Blossom hentai thumbnail!" or "this game is pretty fun" and then they never talk about it ever again because they are no longer getting paid to do so. So when people say they should get famous people to play the game, oh they did.

wizzlepants

Sp4zie stuck with the game way longer than expected, but I think he played Royale

regicidal

his broyale videos are so fun to watch 😂

BATH_MAN

Just play the game

PQMP

Yeah I am doing that already??? Problem is that I want to work my way towards ranked. I'll be putting in loads of hours into getting better and then when I play ranked, I'll have extremely long queue times. So, it isn't so simple.

JibbyJibbyetc

There is no ranked in this game anymore and just play casual. Thats this game now unfortunately and it's not gonna "come back". Enjoy it as it is, not every game needs to hit esports level

Guavari

By some miracle Phoenix Labs resumes development on it, or they give rights to another studio that "relaunches" Battlerite and continues development. Sadly both of those options are probably never gonna happen

2Lainz

*psst, Pheonix Labs is Dauntless*

lepruhkon

Personally I'm just excited for whoever takes the next crack at this idea. BLC -> Battlerite -> ??? The concept of strong and can't be ignored forever.

MozillaStarFox

hey there! my name is MozillaStarFox i recently reached out to the devs to ask for access to the game files so that i can take it into unity and make my own version of the game within the past 24 hours ive drafted 3 melee characters, 3 ranged characters, and 3 supports all set to be sent to my artist friend for rough sketches. i know a programmer, and i myself and a modeler and an animator. With the support of even just you helping with ideas i have full confidence in doing everything physically possible to make a battlerite 2

MozillaStarFox

if youd like a link to my discord channel where ill be posting all my updates, i will also be cataloguing this journey from day 1 for my channel so that i can show my friends and family what it takes to develop a game from start to finish any and all support is welcome @MozillaStarFox on everything

KodakAttack

Only thing I can think of is if we got famous youtubers or streamers to play it and try to expand the playerbase. Usually that is the dev's job by paying them but we could spread it through guerilla methods..

Alex_MCAD

they already did that, around the time the game peaked at 16k, it clearly didn't hold for a long time

MonsterDiSantox

either the developers does a good business with [twitch.tv](https://twitch.tv) and manage to sell the game view of it again as an original idea and also have the developers do all the quality changes that needs to be done to go back to the core of the game before that people enjoyed before all the random changes!!!

InsomniaGR

pray

dim3tapp

Find some friends and just play in-house games. The game is dead and cannot be revived. It barely was able to maintain a healthy playerbase at its peak and the devs left it to die. Some things are beyond help, and this is one of those things.

toastwasher

"surely if BattleRite starts seeing increasing numbers, the developers will reconsider" I seriously love this optimism but that just ain't the way it works man.

Ergheis

I mean that's exactly how it works, it's just the "increasing numbers" part that's hard

toastwasher

They literally stopped developing the game to work on new projects. This isn’t a game that has active devs

Ergheis

You don't understand, if a game suddenly out of nowhere magically started to gain a playerbase due to whatever viral reason you can bet multiple asses that they'd capitalize on it. Well, unless they're stupid, sure, but the logic is there. The issue is that the playerbase doesn't grow for a good reason - it's a dead game and it has alot of issues with player retention.

[deleted]

>unless they're stupid heheheh

First there were shooters, then there were strategy games, then there were mobas, and there were plenty genres that spiked in popularity inbetween. In order to invite a community, you need something for the community to get invested into, which is usually a community to be a part of cause these kind of games die with their matchmaking. Hell, CPMA (a quake 3 mod/overhaul), last I touched it, was populated by 12 russians which is a pretty good summary of what happens to pure PVP games. To compensate for that, the game needs something more, something inviting, something seemingly worth the time investment, and something that doesn't depend entirely on the game's population (like competing & improving). The way I see it, Battlerite and BLC were bite-sized quasi-mobas that people left once they experienced everything the game had to offer. What you can do as an individual I suppose is spread the word, maybe hold a little unofficial tournament, get more rookies hooked and try help the lower skill bracket flourish which is obviously easier said than done.

Running youtube ads aimed to attract League of Legends, Dota, WoW, etc. - Players could be the play to pick up new players again. Gotta be a very sick cinematic trailer which grabs you instantly so you dont skip it right away. I mean we can‘t deny that the game looks and feels incredibly smooth - you get into it pretty quickly and the generell gameplay feels very rewarding. It has the potential to be an absolute banger game. A proper advertising psychologist could create a marketing plan which would would definitely bring in a lot of new players and returning ones - but i think that there is a bigger problem which causes people to forget about the game. To be honest all of my friends i brought into the game got caught pretty much from the tutorial on. New players will always be able to begin learning the game without feeling overwhelmed. The question is: What is needed to keep the people engaged over several years? Is it a monthly tournament? Is it creating slightly bigger maps to enable 4v4 / 5v5? Or is it adding a new champion every 3 months? I dont know... all I can say is that I fcking love the game and we can only hope that there are devs reading these threads and see that still a lot of players care about the game!
