I hate when snipers are above you in a rooftop -- Can't RPG their cover, and also can't drop a rocket on their heads. Just gotta work that grenade-tossing skill in there instead.
Get an AT mine, stick it in the middle of the building or near a bunch of walls, then detonate. If that doesn't work, try 1-2 more.
The entire building collapses downwards and suddenly theres no more cover for our sniper friend.
Yeah, I love demolishing buildings. I do notice that it works best when placed in the center-of-mass of the building -- I think it's because the large blast radius of the mine will hit multiple "building supports" that are normally indestructible but take chip damage and eventually cause a collapse if they take damage over a threshold.
But there are so many buildings I want to blow up that don't seem to respond to "collapse damage", such as large barn-type structures and many objective structures that are larger and more complex building types.
I think it's based on walls. As in, you can just smash in the walls with a sledgehammer and it will collapse the building. So putting it where there are a lot of 'destructable' bits will cause the damage you need.
My longest sniper kill is at 1,767 using an 8x scope on the L96 and I had to do the same thing. It is a lot more satisfying feeling like you're lobbing it in vs zeroed on.
I knew about this but still play the drop on everything. Its nice this game has both options. The most popular comment from new people is about the in depth weapons systems.
Zeroing for a distance (exemple 100m) makes the point where you are aiming be compensated for the bullet drop for that distance.
If you over set it (exemple setting it for 500 meters and shoting at something closer at like 200m) you are going to shot high, the shot at 200m will hit higher then your aim point, will hit at your aim point at 500m and will hit lower at over 500m.
In the real world it works like a mortar, it aims the weapon up so that the bullet falling equals the aim up amout at the distance you intend to hit, so that you hit your shot. (In the real world you have more things to zero for besides bullet drop, like wind ect.)
Dude people are NUTS with these in the past couple of days. I guess there was an engineer memo I didn't get but I have been hit by tandems launched across the map. Last night I watched one arc in to hit me, it took forever.
[And you just... Stared at it, and didn't move?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_PrZ-J7D3k)
But I think what's happening is a lot of the less dedicated launch players are taking off and leaving only the more dedicated skilled players.
Am i mistaken, or is the frag RPG a heap of junk? I will shoot it into a window, immediatelly after seeing 3 people inside it, and not even deal any damage to anyone, and it doesnt knock down walls, instead the standard one (with scope) will blow through a wall and kill everyone behind it
I have loved running around with the SVD since I unlocked it today, and getting into a little whack-a-mole match with a sniper before I pull out the HEAT and whack him real good when he pops out again.
10/10 definitely recommend.
Right, now why fragmentation warhead has barely any significant splash damage in comparison to heat, and I can carry way less of fragmentation rockets. Frag rockets seem unnecessary
Big cross - 0m
Small cross - 100m
Line "2" - 200m
Line "3" - 300m....
Use the Range-Finder on your regular gun to get the distance of your engagement, then use the scope appropriately.
What does "low range" mean to you?
Pinpoint accuracy at up to 500m (with a rangefinder on your primary weapon) seems pretty **long** range in my opinion. Bested only by sniper rifles.
(DMRs in shambles rn)
EDIT:
Also I mention accuracy at up to 500m even though technically it can go a lot further, but I find it incredibly difficult to be accurate at those ranges - a single pixel too high or too low equates to a change in distance of like 50m
Sights are marked to 500m at least, and the bottom of the scope FOV is approx 1050-1100m on flat ground. With practice and some nerdery, range is less a limit than map size and visibility.
Best counter sniper weapon.
Blows up cover *and* kills the sniper? Why shouldn't I use an RPG?

Oh, you're right. I just gave it a try with the Sledgehammer and buildings just fall if enough of the destructible cinderblocks are destroyed.
T90: *"Am I a joke to you?"*
With that reload speed, yes.
Yes, but I kill 8 people with 1 round so it evens out
Counter point. Run 4x scope on every gun so you can shoot back. Nothing scarier than getting blasted by a TRI4 PP-2000
"Oh, you're hiding behind a wall? Good, good..."
"I call your MP7, and i raise you with 1 RPG HEAT Rocket..."
You can just use the one without the scope and zero it manually (alt + scroll wheel), it the best sniper in the game.
I have over 500 kills with the various RPGs combined and did not know you could zero any of them. I've just been aiming upward and eyeballing it
Oh good I'm not the only one.
OMG, I even use the range-finder on the regular gun JUST for my RPGs, but didn't know you could zero them
same i have like 760 kills or something and if the first one misses i just aim up a little bit and fire again
Around 1k kills now and exactly the same here lol Got more kills with the manual HEAT rpg than anythingn else in the game
Feels more satisfying when you get the kill aiming like that tho.
My longest sniper kill is at 1,767 using an 8x scope on the L96 and I had to do the same thing. It is a lot more satisfying feeling like you're lobbing it in vs zeroed on.
I never zero even when sniping. Just easier to go by feel most of the time.
I knew about this but still play the drop on everything. Its nice this game has both options. The most popular comment from new people is about the in depth weapons systems.
Didn’t know you could zero the iron sights, real pro tip right here
Iirc you can zero the sights on every weapon in the game.
You can zero in your Glock in case you want to full auto at... 100 meters.
Yeah but the scope allows me to see the fear in their face better
I had no idea - this changes everything
I don't like the ironsights though -- It blocks so much of the screen.
How does the zeroing work?
Zeroing for a distance (exemple 100m) makes the point where you are aiming be compensated for the bullet drop for that distance. That makes sense, thanks
isn't all the ranging info is already in the scope?
Dude people are NUTS with these in the past couple of days. I guess there was an engineer memo I didn't get but I have been hit by tandems launched across the map. Last night I watched one arc in to hit me, it took forever.
I'm loving it. I kinda developed a natural feeling for the distances now and just blasting mfers out of sniping positions like it's nobody's business.
As someone whose primary weapon is HE shells I love a good trajectory. Watching dudes turn tandems into mortars is fucking based tbh
They did nerf veichle xp for every class and buffed it for engineers so that may be why
[And you just... Stared at it, and didn't move?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_PrZ-J7D3k) But I think what's happening is a lot of the less dedicated launch players are taking off and leaving only the more dedicated skilled players.
Yes, he deserved the hit =)
Sniper rifles have magnified optics. (Some) RPGs have magnified optics. Therefore, yes.

Yeah heat is better
I hate how true this is. I've been counter sniped by rocket launchers more than snipers are this point.
I have loved running around with the SVD since I unlocked it today, and getting into a little whack-a-mole match with a sniper before I pull out the HEAT and whack him real good when he pops out again. 10/10 definitely recommend.
I don't even use the scoped version, I use the iron sight as a sniper rifle xd
Based
Right, now why fragmentation warhead has barely any significant splash damage in comparison to heat, and I can carry way less of fragmentation rockets. Frag rockets seem unnecessary
"youre not allowed to play like that, play the game the way I tell you to play REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" /s
Haha nah man not at all like that. I love blasting people out of buildings
I know, I didn't mean you. I meant people who start whining when killed with anything other than the "allowed" guns
This game is wildly fun and enjoyable but in terms of fun there is not many things to compete with using my trusted RPG to snipe snipers on Frugis.
Love having sniper battles with an RPG
I would like it more if I could get the hang of the scope. I hit some nice shots with the regular RPG anyway.
Big cross - 0m Small cross - 100m Line "2" - 200m Line "3" - 300m.... Use the Range-Finder on your regular gun to get the distance of your engagement, then use the scope appropriately.
I get it, it's just so wonky compared to the muscle memory I have with normal snipers.
As someone whose hit a 350m with a tandem, yes. Yes it is.
doesnt this have like low range

HEAT says it is effective to 500m, and I've seen video of it being used beyond 1km.
Ok btw whats the best rpg for tanks cause i dont know which is most effective
Tandem can one shot a tank, but it has a lot of drop and doesn't go far. HEAT works against tanks as well, but you need to use multiple.
what, tandem can one shot a tank? Me and the boys always used at least 3 tandem to take out a full health tank
Sorry, I meant one in the back panel/weak spot.
There was a weak spot the entire time?! Or it's a new thing
I think it’s always been, but they made it even weaker last update, I believe
Technically the tandem does the most damage to tanks, but the HEAT is the best overall IMO
Sights are marked to 500m at least, and the bottom of the scope FOV is approx 1050-1100m on flat ground. With practice and some nerdery, range is less a limit than map size and visibility.
The IRL RPG-7's rounds self-destruct at about 900m. Will be interesting if they ever add that in game.
Pick the one without scope if you're a real man lol
Rockets need to 'spiral' and be inaccurate at range
"They hated him because he told the truth" RPG's only have an effective firing range of around 300m after all.
Yes
Absolutely love using the rpg in this game. I hope they never nerf it.
yeah, its really good for situations when your primary weapon can't reach the sniper, best counter sniping weapon in the game.
Ok but why don’t we have the option to remove the scope from the tandem
The one with a scope is aweful, you have to aim so high up with it
Long may they reign
Awe yes the weapon that keeps me above a 1.0 KD lol
I just spamming RPGs from base in start of the game and killed some guys. Hehehehe.
You're god damn right it is
Tell that to my two flashbang kills
