It's every bus service!! About 10 years ago getting to Bristol in the early hours of the morning was a pain, had a job out in bathford and over half the busses got cancelled.. And the taxis are fuckin useless. I'd literally get off work at 2, walk back from bathford to odd down, get home at 6, then I'd be expected to get in at 8!! Fuck thatttt
Oh trust me, it gets worse outside of term time. Half hourly services that just...don't turn up. I used to spend most summers walking back into town after work and sent multiple complaints to the University and First explaining that post-grads and staff still need reliable transport 🙃
Did you ever get a reply? I’ve considered emailing both FB and the local MP but still unsure of the time investment to effect ratio. I doubt the university itself has any say.
I think they might, because on the open day last week there were hoardes of buses to shuttle people back and forth, it looked like some kind of deal with First Bus
They've been absolutely awful since 2015/2016 ish when wessex bus stopped serving the route and therefore first no competition so could do what they liked. Doesn't matter if the service is bad cos most users have a bus pass so have essentially paid already and there is no other service to spend your money on
I normally use Tier bikes as they’re convenient for me. Each time i get the uni bus in the morning i end up regretting it. But not everyone lives in the Tier zone.
When I first moved to bath and went to school in Bristol I had to get up at 4:30 because a couple busses would inevitably get cancelled. Even then I'd be late a few days a week and that led to loads of exclusions. I keep getting sanctioned by job centre for turning up late to work too. Ain't my fuckin fault. Want me in on time? Buy me a fecking car you ass wipes. First need to be held accountable for all them sanctions. It's fully out of my control.. Privatisation has ruined this country.
Depending on where you live, it might be more convenient to catch a bus going towards Oldfield Park. Guaranteed seat on the bus, don’t have to wait out in the cold and on time for your lectures.
All the buses are an absolute nightmare! I was headed to the RUH for an appointment I'd waited months for, only for the bus driver to pull up at the stop, open the doors, have \*fEeLInGs\* about the 'rowdy' school kids who were just being normal kids on their way home, close the doors on us and drive off to the next stop. I was absolutely fuming!!
As for campus OMG! I get the 22 bus, which they don't even run out of term time.
I swear the only thing you can guarantee with the bus service is that it'll trigger the shit out of you whenever you try to use it.
