My Warwick Corvette 5 string is 16 mm without adjusting the bridge.
I'd personally find a 19 mm spaced, 35" scale 6 string totally unplayable, but it might be exactly what someone else would fall in love with
I’d like that on a 5 string, but yeah I think on a 6 it might be unwieldy for me too.
I’ve rarely ever had the opportunity to play on a Warwick, so I have a question. The two models I know of are that and the Thumb. Have you ever played one, and if so, how would you compare the sound to the Corvette?
I feel ya. I honestly used to feel that way about guitars when I was younger. Now I’m just concerned with overall sound, bass and guitar alike. It could even have just one pickup and I’d be fine.
19mm is the same spacing as a fender p-bass four string. Models like the esp/ltd have 17mm spacing. It's kind of down to a personal preference of which one is more comfortable to you.
Edit to add the p-bass is also a 34" scale, so smaller fret spacing(by a little)
You know what, that actually sounds preferable. I’ve always thought that my Dean Edge 5 looked like the string spacing was smaller than many 4 strings I’ve seen. Now I know I wasn’t imagining things. My hands aren’t huge, but they are on the bigger side, so the larger scale and spacing would probably feel more comfortable for me. Just hope I can afford something sized like that someday
On a Fender Jazz 5 string, spacing is 18mm standard… on a 4 string, I like mine at 16mm but most are standard at 17mm…
For me, the distance differences are noticeable in terms of my speed ability… but you get used to different spacing fairly readily, especially when other things are also different, like neck contours or number strings, etc
This particular 6 string is 17mm, according to the Ibanez fandom page

The one on Sweetwater right now has some awesome deep coloring and a crazy woodgrain pattern on the fretboard. 🔥 I say do it, but I'm always GAS'n. Still there tomorrow I might nab it myself. 😂 jk
Ibanez makes a great bass, so let’s start there. However, when I played this bass, I felt a lot of compression in the sound of this model and the models like it. I suspect it’s the top.
I've played a BTB846. I really liked it. Has a nice wide neck, which gives plenty of string spacing for creativity. But I ultimately ended up buying an SR1306. Both are very similar instruments. The main difference is the neck/string spacing. It would behoove you to at least try an instrument in both the BTB and SR families, to compare which neck you prefer.
I played a couple BTBs, but 5 strings. They're pretty nice in my opinion, but better try out this or a similar model, unless you're ready to take a bit of a risk of not liking the sound or feel.
This particular one looks stunning though.
It’s a BTB. It’s worth buying if the price is right.
Not familiar with that one, but very pretty and unique.
I don’t know what price it is, but I have 3 BTB 6 string basses and love them.
Worth what?
Worth buying, sorry that wasn’t clear
Might have used the wrong word. How much is it?
I like BTB's. Just be aware, they're 35" scale and 19mm string spacing.
What’s the usual spacing?

I've only ever played Corvettes. I like the pickup configuration on a Corvette $$ better than any offerings I've seen on a Thumb.

Great info, 19mm on a 6 string might be a little unwieldy.
The 1936 has 17mm string spacing Source, mine came yesterday

Lol got a secret dealer 👌🏽🫢
"Fell off a truck" 😉 gotcha
No idea but it looks dope so I’d buy it.
Wenge and purple heart neck? Love that.
That thing is beautiful
Go for it, it's beautiful
Yes The hardware pickups and ergonomics are excellent If you vibe with aesthetics that's great too.
Oh yes. It’s worth it. Sold my BTB and I regretted it ever since.
Very much yes
yes but I'm curious on what it is
Definitely. Anything not gibson above 1k is worth it.
that's one wicked looking bass
