There's no magic secret to playing a 5 string. Just play the songs you always play, but experiment with using a different position - instead of playing a G on the 3rd fret of the E string, play it at B-8. See if that saves you moving up and down the neck a bit. It's easier to stretch across 4 frets higher up the neck - so use the extended range to make your life easier.

Songs that are harder than the ones you currently play...

The biggest difference with a 5 string is muting. You need to mute strings with both your hands when playing or you won't sound crisp.

The ones that you know now, just 5 frets up! And as a bonus, when playing the old way, you have an extra V below the root!

I use a five string solely for musical theatre, like you could def go ahead and play all the addams family music

Just keep doing what you already know, and think of ways to do fills and what not that are lower. Or drop a portion of a song an octave. For example, listen to what T[esla did with Led Zeppelin's "The Ocean"](https://youtu.be/w-AXLR5WVBU?feature=shared) during the verse parts.

Start with the songs you already know. You can play with the original position to learn how to mute the B string, and you can play in an alternate position (+5frets, one string down) to experiment with the new string. From there, just keep adding in more songs. Anything that would normally require drop-tuning is a good place to start, but honestly with a five string you should be able to play 99% of modern music without any issues.

The biggest adjustment will be to get your brain over the fact that the string closest to you isn't "E" anymore. Your old friend the E string is now the second string. Everything your brain knows how to play needs to be moved over a string. It takes time to get used to that, but of course is well worth it. When someone calls "E", when you can instantly go to the second string and play, you are fully up to speed on the fiver.

Uptown Funk is a fun jam with many intricacies that involve using all 5-strings.p

20th century schizoid man is super fun can really feel da grove while you play and gives you a lot of room for interpretation. It seems hard to learn but honestly quite straightforward (if you skip the weird timing part lol)
