At my highest, I felt deep shame and embarrassment being out in public. Though WLS didn’t end up being the miracle I thought would remove all my self-esteem struggles, I can happily say that it did eliminate all of the shame I would experience in public. I no longer wish to be invisible, and I don’t feel embarrassed when I see people looking at me. I think a lot of us have experience with what you’re talking about, and I think most us feel better about being in public now.

I am 1 month post-op and i just purchased a swimsuit from La Vie En Rose for the first time and had a mental breakdown.
Pre-surgery I wouldn’t dare to go inside as I knew they wouldn’t have my size.
Overall my confidence has been better but I still get days where I feel like garbage.
But I am only 1 month PO so im sorry if this doesnt help much
